  • Frag' den Abend-Wind,

    wo das Glück beginnt;

    aber frage nicht,

    woran es manchmal zerbricht.

    Frag' den Silber-Mond,

    wo die Liebe wohnt;

    doch wann sie zerbricht,

    - das - frage nicht.

  • sehr schön-und auch gut-für einen der mitdenkt !

  • was macht Francoise Hardy heute, eine sehr schöne stimme.............

  • beautiful song and sung by a true beauty

  • just lovely, clarity is astounding

  • musik vom feinsten

    Carsten

  • The little boy was asked, What do you love about your father, he replied my mother. What do you love about your mother, he replied my father, And what do you love about you, the little boy smiled, and walked away........He knew a beautiful voice comes from a beautiful heart........

  • I like her singin in German too. Tut mir leid.

  • @trams4

    Nicht 'Tut mir leid.',

    sondern 'Gott sei Dank!'

    ARCANVS

  • She was proficient in German, having been one the few sixties' pop singers to have spent some time at the University (up to the second year in German language, interrupted for show bizz reasons of course). Soft and sensitive voice, a restrained attitude and an undeniable beauty. Many French boys (I am one of them) were in love with her. I still am.

  • einfach wunderschön - francoise und auch der song !

  • boring

Danke Francoise

  • if someone search this song at other places use this:

"Frag Den Abendwind" in the title is the word without the "d"

i`m from Germany but like more she sings francais ;-)

    She is really so special!

  • The most beautiful woman Germany has ever produced.

    Just kidding.

  • @pmfnr Weel, the Franks were a Germanic tribe, So who really knows?

  • The setting of this music video is freakishly surreal. She's gorgeous, the song's gorgeous, and the setting seems like it's set in a dream. (:

  • hahaha

    incroyable

    bravo!

  • Great video, but then again I am not very objective since I enjoy everything Ms Hardy does, and the fact she is Corsican like me doesn't hurt,,,,loll

    Thanks for posting.

    Kind regards from Quebec

  • I would also like to dedicate this song to Nicholas Staughton Dunn with one grandmother born in Germany and one grandmother born in France...lucky lad!

  • I'd like to dedicate this song to Nicholas Staughton Dunn, with one grandmother born in France and one grandfather born in Germany.

Later she reject any positiv comment of this period.

  • Which TV channel was this? Das erste?

  • German TV

  • touched in the head...

  • So Beautiful...

    I am very touched!...

  • beautiful video...sublime

  • Very nice song.

  • sublime!

  • Where have they gone, the singers like Francoise you could watch German tv every day for a year these days and you would not see anything come close to this performance

  • Okay, it took awhile but found it--"Francoise Hardy - Tante De Belles Choses". It's really quite good. Looks like a 2004 performance?

  • I just discovered (since classical guitar is new to me) a blind classical guitar player named Ioana Gandrabur. Her playing is so incredibly pleasant it reminds me of Francoise Hardy. It would be nice to hear them accompany one another, although don't know if that is realistic from a musical standpoint. Just a nice thought since it seems Francoise is still performing. Ioana is on my faves if anyone might be interested.

  • Françoise stopped performing in 1968.

  • Is that true, toyamac? Thought I'd seen a video of her performing in maybe 1997 or so. The guitar gave it a Pink Floyd sound, which many people might like, but I wasn't a fan of them so didn't take to the video. But just put a video of hers up on my faves where it looks much more recent than 1968.

  • oh gott schöne gute alte schlagerzeit .. wunderbar !

  • Einfach nur schön !!!

  • genau so ist es !!!!!

  • FrenchByNature: I'm American; my father was born in Germany and came to U.S. when he was 6 months old. I think your comment is just fine. Don't worry about offending other French people or Germans. YouTube was created by Americans, so you can say WHATEVER you want here! Nazism is a valid reason to dislike Germany, as George Bush's politics and warmongering are valid reasons to dislike America today. Speak your mind and don't listen to these "patriots" who want to censor you.

  • i didn't know she also sings in German

  • You did not, I didn't either. But she does and with such a pure voice that makes German a sweet tongue for she is "eine Fee". She was in Brazil when I was a young boy in love with her. I am now old, but still in love with her and her songs. Have a great day!

  • what a beautiful song, she is gorgeous!

  • love the song ;)

  • Wunderbar!Awesome 60's song by Francoise in German.I love this song & like all of her songs from the 60's in all of the languages she recorded in back then.Francoise was the best!

  • Love this. The music is great, kinda funny in a way. Love her look. Same as in video "However Much (Et Même) (on US TV 1965!)".

  • among TOP 50 of 20th century.

    Thanks for posting.

  • ahhhhhh she's made me love german again

  • And believe me,that really takes something!

  • Connard.

Bon courage.

  • You dont have any idea about life.

  • Oh please ... What's wrong with her singing in German?

Is it your hypocritical patriotism, or just the plain fact that you don't understand a word?

BTW: "shame to you to have writingin english" ... you really should work on your English skills!

  • I would drink her bath water with a straw.

  • wonderful

  • she is hot

  • beautiful !!

  • GEIL!

  • euin wunderschöner song von ihr

  • Amazing. She sounds SO Dutch, but she actually speaks German. It took me a while to understand her!

  • if you think, german is harsh-what about dutch?

  • There's lot of songs where the german sounds as sweet as french or english, waterloo by ABBA for example...German is a nice language as well, not that cold than we can usually think...

  • She manages to make the harsh German lanuage sound as sweet as French. She is so perfect.

  • how can someone thumb down this comment! its true... xeebo... ive seen your comments before...

  • She's so beautiful!

  • i heard this song on radio today. it was amazing. and now i can see how she looks like. exactly my imagination.

  • WOW, she makes the German language sound sexy

  • Sounds like Brazilian musicn in German, heh

  • hehe germaniosos

  • She is fluent in German and Italian and sung some wonderful songs in those two languages. She did songs in Spanish (a few) and Portugese (one I think - Bown, Bown), though I don't know if she had any fluency in those languages.

  • Francoise sings like an angel in any language. If she was the same age today I'd ask her to marry me!! She would reply 'Non' J'aime Francoise

  • Ist das schön....

    seufz...schluchz...

  • The lady is pure french chic perfection

  • ask the evening wind where the luck starts... don`T ask why love ends... ask the silver moon where love lives.....

  • Weird... I grew up listening to her and didn't know she sang in German! Thanks for posting this!

  • It barely sounds like German. What an incredible woman to be able to make another language so much her own.

  • her accent is great women whose mothertingue is not German bring out more softness in the Hardness of the German Languaga. Sie veredeln die Deutsche Sprache

    ,-))

  • what a stupid comment. "Hardness of the german "langugagagagagaga !.. Frankly.

Grow up a bit before going on You Tube. Racist.

  • j'approuve ta réponse !

  • Language heisst dass.

  • This Song ist about romantic Love.

  • I don't understand German. What is this song about?

  • ask the evening wind where the luck starts... don`T ask why love ends... ask the silver moon where love lives.....

  • I've never heard German sound so pretty before.

  • ein echt süsser käfer (lechtz).

  • She sings just so honest like Agnetha in ABBA.

  • frag den abendwind was a big hit in germany- in the late 60ies i think - wunderbar, danke für den clip

  • I love her voice.

  • Her accent is A+

    Was denkts du?

  • Amazing how beautiful even, "that German language" sounds coming out of her mouth.

  • She should have done more in English. I have English LP`s. And many in French. Wish I could speak French! She was always magnificient!

  • "Frag Den Abendwind" is the right title between

Yes Chuckdee you're right!

  • shes gorgeous

  • chuckdee is DAMN right ! !

  • I think Francoise Hardy was able to get her message across in such a nice gentle manner, without yelping like some braying jackass, which is what 90% of today's music is all about!

  • Amazing video. Francoise Hardy is the most desireable human in the history of recorded music.

And she's no less attractive in German.
