The little boy was asked, What do you love about your father, he replied my mother. What do you love about your mother, he replied my father, And what do you love about you, the little boy smiled, and walked away........He knew a beautiful voice comes from a beautiful heart........
She was proficient in German, having been one the few sixties' pop singers to have spent some time at the University (up to the second year in German language, interrupted for show bizz reasons of course). Soft and sensitive voice, a restrained attitude and an undeniable beauty. Many French boys (I am one of them) were in love with her. I still am.
Wunderschön und so richtig zum Träumen ! Warum wird so was heute nicht mehr gemacht, sondern stattdessen Interpreten zum GrandPrix geschickt, die sowieso bald wieder von der Bildfläche verschwunden sind ?
I would also like to dedicate this song to Nicholas Staughton Dunn with one grandmother born in Germany and one grandmother born in France...lucky lad!
Where have they gone,the singers like Francoise you could watch German tv every day for a year these days and you would not see anything come close to this performance
I just discovered (since classical guitar is new to me) a blind classical guitar player named Ioana Gandrabur. Her playing is so incredibly pleasant it reminds me of Francoise Hardy. It would be nice to hear them accompany one another, although don't know if that is realistic from a musical standpoint. Just a nice thought since it seems Francoise is still performing. Ioana is on my faves if anyone might be interested.
Is that true, toyamac? Thought I'd seen a video of her performing in maybe 1997 or so. The guitar gave it a Pink Floyd sound, which many people might like, but I wasn't a fan of them so didn't take to the video. But just put a video of hers up on my faves where it looks much more recent than 1968.
FrenchByNature: I'm American; my father was born in Germany and came to U.S. when he was 6 months old. I think your comment is just fine. Don't worry about offending other French people or Germans. YouTube was created by Americans, so you can say WHATEVER you want here! Nazism is a valid reason to dislike Germany, as George Bush's politics and warmongering are valid reasons to dislike America today. Speak your mind and don't listen to these "patriots" who want to censor you.
You did not, I didn't either. But she does and with such a pure voice that makes German a sweet tongue for she is "eine Fee". She was in Brazil when I was a young boy in love with her. I am now old, but still in love with her and her songs. Have a great day!
Wunderbar!Awesome 60's song by Francoise in German.I love this song & like all of her songs from the 60's in all of the languages she recorded in back then.Francoise was the best!
A sa manière, elle a participé au rapprochement franco-allemand, et de façon sans doute plus élégante et efficace que les tapes dans le dos et les tutoiements de Sarkozy à l'adresse de la Chancelière.
There's lot of songs where the german sounds as sweet as french or english, waterloo by ABBA for example...German is a nice language as well, not that cold than we can usually think...
She is fluent in German and Italian and sung some wonderful songs in those two languages. She did songs in Spanish (a few) and Portugese (one I think - Bown, Bown), though I don't know if she had any fluency in those languages.
her accent is great women whose mothertingue is not German bring out more softness in the Hardness of the German Languaga. Sie veredeln die Deutsche Sprache
I think Francoise Hardy was able to get her message across in such a nice gentle manner, without yelping like some braying jackass, which is what 90% of today's music is all about!
Frag' den Abend-Wind,
wo das Glück beginnt;
aber frage nicht,
woran es manchmal zerbricht.
Frag' den Silber-Mond,
wo die Liebe wohnt;
doch wann sie zerbricht,
- das - frage nicht.
