The song imo, is about the distorted memories of lost love , the words our beloved used to tell to us sound distorted and what once caused us so much happiness, over the years makes the sound of them distorted. Hence the title. It's the fire of the memory of those those words that burn us from the inside. Like a burning fire. Hence the title of the song. This song is one of the many unsuspected jewels BoC has to offer.
I always thought of a young person who had been told that he was loved for the first time in his life, and the girls voice was ringing in his head as he was spinning over the concept of someone caring about him in this way, like: "wow...I can't believe this for me." Kind of also why the title made sense to me, reminds me of that hot feeling you get in your stomach when your feeling really strongly about something, while at the same time implying danger that could come with something like love.
i love how at the end when she giggles after she finally spelled "i love you" correctly, boc added that ringing noise that added to the successful feel
I once tripped on acid. When people spoke to me it sounded exactly like the girls voice in this song. Why does sound become distorted in this way on acid?
@NiMur90 hahahaha this is so true! i was having a terrible trip, i listened to this song specifically (don't know why) but it calmed me. completely. i felt like i was back in my child hood house and everything was just perfect and fine.
@gomle3 I know what you mean!! One time I tripped on shrooms, heard a baby crying, yet had the same tone as this girl. Freaked me out, it was like a alien sound.
I like how it alludes to how brief life is. And how, really, we do care about each other enough to have relationships. To be human is to have compassion. It is short. It is brutal. But there are some things that are worth it. We needn't "throw the baby out with the bath water" so to speak.
Some of the first things we learn are to love our parents and other people. This is where we should be directing our energy. Helping people who are just as human as our parents and ourselves.

i dont get this... this is a song? lol all i hear is a voice saying 'iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii' over and over again then saying 'iiiiiiiiiii looooooooove yoooooou'
deffinatly an interesting peice in terms of expression. I think it could have had more layers, but then i suppose it is supposed to be innocent. Love BOC though
This track is actually about a little girl trying to write out "I Love You". If you listen close you can hear her erasing her messed up words and questioning herself on her spelling.
This track is just like MDMA. I can imagine that this is made while under the influence of mdma. I dont mean now some crap ecstacy what is full of amphetamine and random things, no. Pure MDMA. I remember when i listened this track when i was under the influence that "i am this music". My feeling was just like this one.. 5 stars. sorry my bad english.
The funny thing is that your english was perfect until you said "sorry my bad english" Gotta love irony......although I dig what you're saying man, this whole album is like this.
Its like a robotic kid who wants to be part of the family. And yet his somehow never accepted; until one day he butchers the whole family, whilst repeating 'i love you...'
This is such an enigmatic track. I think that's maybe the thing I love the most about BoC, the enigma of it all <3

Such a haunting track. It's got a perfect balance of being creepy as hell, while also being somehow beautiful.

the "lyrics" - are those lines from The Exorcist? I seem to recall that girl Megan saying this before she goes conkers.

Listen closer. Listen to the other sounds that make up the track, the structure, everything. Also, get the album Music has the Right to Children.

I was referring to ages 5-6.
And even if I was that young, would there be anything wrong with that? I'm pretty sure I liked this album when since I was 10.

sometimes you can record the sound and video streams separately, and then trim tthe amount off from the start of whatever is ahead.

and then merge the two with tmpgenc or something

@JasonAndrewWillford Try compressing it the least possible, or just no compression at all. that would make it a pain to upload but yeh...
