  • OUCH!

...Thanks for posting this montage...but from a former student of that school (and remember my family going to High School there) it is almost painful to see that building in that condition.. .. .. .

I wish I'd have known the Demo was planned.... I'd have liked to have walked (or ran) those halls ... just one more time.

RJHS.... she will be missed... and Remembered....

  • isnt this actually in littleville alabama off of bailey lane.

  • No, this building was the former Russellville Junior High School and was demolished around 1995. It sat a few blocks from downtown and the only thing remaining is the football field.

  • oh well then i literrally live next to it.. on south jackson ave...cool vid

  • Thank you for posting this.

That sign, "BUSES ONLY...", I vividly remember reading with butterflies in my stomach on my first day.

What is the heart-wrending music in the background?

  • @shrimp19 Haha, You're not old! Her married name is Sue Taylor, she was Mattie Sue Franks.

  • @itsAyAy haha oh ok whew feel slightly better :) @lastamericanPatriot i always wanted to skate down the halls :)

  • I attended Russellville School System grades 1st through 12th, graduating in 1979. I'll always remember the good times our class had at RJHS.. The hardwood floors were so pretty. I have many good memories from my attendance there. The cafeteria was in the basement & I had piano lessons located in a basement room. We played kickball during recess, It's a shame the building was demolished. The video brought back many good memories. Sincerely, a former student.
