I'm always up for a bit more story line for a bit less graphics, but this came with the bonus some fantastically made movements.

Fantastic animation, even if the finer details were lacking a bit... But it more than made up for it in every other way.

But all that aside, it really begs the question of what we plan to leave behind for our children, we can bicker and whine all we want about if global warming is a hoax but if we don't do anything, we can't say we tried to stop it.

I must admit that once I saw him taking his glasses off... I wasn't really feeling sad most of the time because I saw it all coming...

Except for one thing.

That fucking tape recorder.

When the camera panned from his body to the tape recorder I felt sad... and then IT STOPPED.

That one moment is the bleakest thing I've seen in a long time... what was the point of this? Don't dream? :(

@vanishy0urself No. Ithink the point is DO dream. The boy didn´t want to live in a destroyed world anymore. And rather to be alive and unhappy, he let go of his life and found peace in his own, better world.

I view this video as (despite the French) a creative response to the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in Russia. Although the gas mask would not stop radiation, it still shows how a once thriving community was reduced to a deadly ghost-town after a huge disaster. God bless all those who are lost.

I'm thinking that the air is toxic with either a biological or chemical agent, probably chemical. If it was radioactive, you wouldn't need an SCBA, only a gas mask, and you would need to decontaminate. You would need to do that for a persistent chemical agent, too, but it might only be lethal if you breathe it. Or, the atmosphere might not have a sufficient amount of oxygen (or too much CO2), though that wouldn't explain the goggles.

Anyone have any better ideas?

@XCVGVCX Well, the goggles seem simple to me. It looks like the classic 'post-apocalyptic desert' thing going on, so, it may very well be just to keep sand from the eyes in case a sandstorm hits, or if the wind bows.

In this animated cartoon the red city, a word the red is shown is written with an error. Judging by the name it is Russia, but Russian cities look more terrible than in an animated cartoon. It is very a pity to me.
