Acrassicauda, I saw ur struggle that u all went thru to keep the band alive!!! hats off to u guyz!!! I was amazed!!! Salute!!!! dont listen to some stupid mother fuckers who talk shit about Iraq and USA!! Cuz everyone knows how fucked up USA is!! LOL
So I've been to Iraq 3x's I'm a U.S. soldier and the other day I come accross this documentary called Heavy Metal in Baghdad. These guys remind me of the many good people I have met in Iraq. Keep rockin you're an inspiration to your people and I think musically you kick Ass!
METAL ISNT STUPID SKINNY KIDS WITH STUPID HAIR CUTS ITS ABOUT BACKING YOUR FELLOW METAL HEADS UP MOSHING HEAD BANGING AND HAVING A GOOD TIME IRAQ CAN BRING TRUE METAL BACK :D
This is not so much my style of music but the story of Acrassicauda I just watched (Heavy Metal in Baghdad) was terrific. I really hope these guys stick it out and make it big. the story is completely amazing. Having served in Baghdad in 03-04 it gave me a new perspective on what the other side of the road was going through.
Good luck guys. I will support you when I see your material come up for sale.
Thinking very seriously about getting their EP. I have liked everything I have heard from this band. I also have the film Heavy Metal in Baghdad. The real life experiences this band has been through brings relevance to their music. Rock on!!
@Freedom544 awesome! I wasn't able to understand the first part of the arabic sentences! thank you very much for translating it! God, this demo is even better than the studio version! long life to them!
the iraqi people are educated...and they're one of the best civilizations in the world...but unfrotunatly...the didnt have the chance to proov therselves...because of War...and because they never had a moment of peace from the begning of the world..untill now.:S:S
please tell me this isnt saposed to be an fucking anti american band, if it wasnt for america and out military these guys would have thier heads cut off
@honestskeptic how would it be good? if it wasnt for america these guys would have thier heads cut off, we protected them from the Islamic extremists who wanted to kill them, they live here in america
@12jason223 Dude, did you even see the film? Suroosh Alvi is the guy who protected them and lobbied for their asylum statusabroad all the way along. Yeah the US government granted them citizenship eventually thanks to the hard efforts of Suroosh Alvi. If you actually look the amount of Iraqi refugees the US has accepted since the beginning of the war, it's something like 600 last time I checked.
@12jason223 It's also bullshit to say if it wasn't for the American military these guys would "have their heads chopped off." The US are the ones who started the civil war in Iraq when they invaded, the sectarian strife was contained under Saddam. If anything the US is responsible for these young men's lives being in danger from sectarian terrorists in the first place.
If you actually watch the film, they were able to live relatively peaceful lives pre-invasion. Yeah, they were forced to sing some type of ode to Saddam during one concert, but nobody was shooting missiles at their practice space and they were able to walk about Baghdad freely without thinking their lives were in imminent danger. Once the US invaded and all these crazy fucking fundamentalists came out of the woodworks and the shit hit the fan with the civil war.
@miw20 Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 bro, and obviously you know jack shit if you think their lives were in any way better off post-invasion. Just watch the film and you'll see how you have zero freedom of mobility, are severely paranoid from the constant danger of being kidnapped and/or killed, had their practice space blown up by a missile, and desperately want to move out of baghdad because their lives are in immediate danger. Obviously it wasn't like that pre-invasion.
it wasn't like that as long as you agreed with Saddam's views.
He killed around 600,000 of his own people.
Sure their will be a civil war. Why? Because those oppressed by Saddam can finally stand up for themselves with him gone, and those who supported him/or are just against the US, are going to try their best to take over with him gone.
Sure things are rough, but they will eventually improve when we finally help them get themselves back on their own feet, and pull our troops.
@miw20 And you think there's free speech now? If you'd say one free-thinking thing in public you'd get kidnapped, assassinated, or had your family put in danger without the bat of an eyelash. And go read the Lancet study, as a result of this war over 1,000,000 Iraqi excess deaths have occurred. That's more than anybody could ever say Saddam ever killed, and who put Saddam in power again? Oh yeah, he was getting CIA pay and we were selling weapons to him and Iran during the Iran-Iraq war.
@miw20 Sure there will be civil war? Do you actually remember in the run-up to the war the way the war was sold? Cheney said we would not only be greeted as "liberators" with flower petals and roses, and not only did he say it would last a few weeks, but he said Iraq would become a shining beacon of democracy and immediately all the surrounding and neighboring countries' regimes would topple and become democratized. 7 years later and over 5k US troops & 1 million Iraqis dead ppl like u forget.
@honestskeptic are you honestly trying to use Dick Cheney as a credible source? He is an idiot. And also, I never said countless lives were wasted on this war, but what I am trying to get through to you, that not only are the Iraqis better off without Saddam executing his own people, but the world is better off as well.
@miw20 The Lancet is the most prestigious medical journal in existence. There's nothing controversial about the methodologies. Actually, the US Smart Initiative trains UN workers doing the exact same methods. The US did used the same methodology in Afghanistan after the Soviet occupation, as well as used the exact same methods in the Balkans. Really, you're pretty stupid to have said that.
@honestskeptic dude it's been a fucking week and you just reply.....give it up man. I'm not here to fucking argue, I'm here to listen to some great music. so fuck off.
@miw20 I don't use YouTube every second to check replies, you fucking nerd. I actually go to school, have a job, play guitar, and listen to metal instead of arguing about how awesome the war in Iraq is over the internet like you. Faggot.
@12jason223 "We protected them from the Islamic extremists..." WE or YOU didn't protect shit my friend. These guys did it on their own. You think the Armed Forces were on a mission to protect these people. The military did it's job and these guys were stuck in the middle of it all.
@honestskeptic as much as I want to continue this argument, I'm choosing not to. Insult me and be pissed off all you want, I'm going to enjoy some music. Good day, ass wipe.
@miw20 I love idiots like you who play the righteous man of taking the high road yet they still have to get the last word in. Nothing but a petty little child. Be gone.
@honestskeptic dude you need a life. you've been starting shit with multiple people on here who were just trying to enjoy the fucking song and post a comment. and I knew you would post some smart ass comment afterward, so your getting the last word in bull shit doesn't work. instead of letting it go, you HAD to post something in return after my last comment KNOWING I would reply. Well good job bud, it worked. I'm going to guess the reason you keep replying is because you are a lonely loser.
This Metal band has more credibility then any new metal band out there since they went through real life and death experiences which inspired their music. I like vocals, very musical with great timing on the guitar chucks and the arabic leads. Shit this reminds me of the good old days of the 80's with bands like Death metallica, exodus when bands actually went through struggles of being poor and became inspired to play angry fast technically skilled metal
great band great music, awesome they made it through, khronicus we did nothing to that country, but i'm gonna go ahead and assume that you never been to war and to iraq so i can understand where that arrogance would come from
i have just finished listening to the new album an it fucking rocks. These guys have something thats been missing from alot of new metal. And im guessing it hs to do with the realitly of their past and how fucked up thier country has become because of us. Its very raw and has a very dark feeling to it. And its not like im tricked into thinking they are "tuff or hard or evil" They are just a group of guys making some badass metal.
@Khronicus because of us? now your putting down the US saying its our fault.... even though Saddam used meat grinders to grind people into meat so they would vote him into power.... right... we totally started and made Iraq what it is now.
@Khronicus - You speak truth, my friend. Metal needs these guys as much as they need metal. I'm so happy my buddy turned me on to these guys. Badass, simply badass!
@Khronicus totally agree with you man, however on the part "how fucked up their country has become because of us" well, not so much i'm 50/50 on that don't forget it was also Al-Qaeda to blame mostly and just their form of government and laws, so don't blame us completely for something that's been there from the moment we began fighting with them, anyways, i'm glad they are fresh and new (cuz that means they havent been corrupted by the record companies to push them to be commercialized).
@Khronicus What's this "us" shit? Do you have a mouse in your pocket? And if by "us" you are referring to your country...their country was fucked up way before "us" got involved. But, hey Acrassicauda, keep rockin!
no offense to all metal out there but this is the best song and band ever and they should have a lot more credit than there getting these guys are the best band ever and willing to sacrifice for what they believe in you guys rock!!
I could easily be a proud Iraqi, I present just myself and the good people coming from Iraq , not the murderer and talk shit with their disgusting relgion. I wish the best for these guys . all of us living outside Iraq are trying to study and make something good from us so that we can prove to the world that Iraq is not just violence.
EFF YES! they prove bands like iron maiden, metallica, and ALL 70's and 80's metal still reigns supreme. Nothing can destroy METAL. i love these guys.
I had to run in and hear the studio versions of their songs. Fuckin' awesome!
Can't wait for an album to hit the stores. Acrassicauda is proof that great music usually comes from tough life experience (not emo douchebags crying because Hot Topic was out of Guyliner and mascara.
Hey fucktard! How about you look deeper into the liberal politics that have kept our troops across seas far longer than is needed simply protect American interest and feed our lusts for decades! The Iraq war is only the latest bamboozlement bestowed upon us. Don't cop out and blame one man. Oh, and its BUSCH beer, and it SUCKS!!!
These guys were inspired by someof the best bands including metallica and slayer. And what a better place for metal to be inspired from, hell on earth for sure in iraq.
Fucking Badass vid. Man, I saw these guys on HBO and they Kick some serious ass. I wish they could make more music. Hell guys, I wish I could help. Keep it up. You got fans everywhere! Even here in the USA.
they can move to uae where it isnt as strict as the other arab countries! we actually had a lot of great bands play here already on the annual dubai rock fest such as sepultura, testament, megadeth, korn, velvet revolver.... hope next time metallica will be invited!!!!!
Damn this metal is real traditional and old-school. It's good to see some bands not giving in to that scene shit. I would totally buy this. Do they have a label?
The fact that these guy's have managed to form a really good metal band in such a conservative country, is just amazing! Rock on lad's, don't let anything stop you!
Ditto. that 727274298 dude represents the ignorant, perhaps they will learn the Error of there ways, do they really think that GOD wants them to kill over music? What kind of god would want that????
LOL they made thins song like kinda for saddam huseign lol cause um they needed to get a gig and the people were like what do you have for sadam so they were like o shit
Where did you get this demo version? Ive got the Ep but this shit is raw and brutal sounding

Just got done watching the documentary.
I had to run in and hear the studio versions of their songs. Fuckin' awesome!
Can't wait for an album to hit the stores. Acrassicauda is proof that great music usually comes from tough life experience (not emo douchebags crying because Hot Topic was out of Guyliner and mascara.
Regardless, bad ass song.

The Iraq war is only the latest bamboozlement bestowed upon us. Don't cop out and blame one man. Oh, and its BUSCH beer, and it SUCKS!!!
