Actually as far as I know, to date, nobody has been able to produce an authentic statement/documentation from Thomas Jefferson in which he claimed to be a Deist. In addition, I cannot comment on Glenn Beck's opinion of Thomas Jefferson, since I have no idea how he feels and I wouldn't even guess.
But as a proponent of the tea party I know how *I* feel, & I strive to express myself in a way that is in keeping with the message of the Gospel.

@danceofsalome umm actually they were the main ones that wanted separation of church and state. Also the "under god" in the pledge of allegiance was put in there during the "red scare". Look it up.

Also, if you have a chance please see my post above regarding the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit in Washington, DC ruling of "in God we Trust." 1: Most of the founding fathers (and, what's the definition here?) were deists. Some where theists, one or two were potentially atheists. ALL were secularists.
2: What they personally thought of doesn't matter, they all supported the Bill of Rights. "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion..."
3: "Under God" was added in 1954, hardly founding fathers.
4: "In God We Trust" was 1864.

I'm sure your knowledge of American History includes George Washington's Thanksgiving proclamation - which was all ABOUT thanking GOD.
It's documented, so look it up.
In addition, you are probably already familiar with the fact that the Preambles of all 50 States acknowledge God. You can look this up as well.

The United Statesof America is a dream for many because the world so called leaders from cave man days try very hard to control others in the name of the People by saying People do not have the sence to be uncontroled. Glenn Beck is a Christian. This is NOT about being politically correct. God, or God's Holy Spirit, can speak to AND thru YOU, ME AND Glenn Beck. We ALL have the ability to hear Him. Once heard, the message CAN be shared.
Beck is correct, God tries HARD to get us to hear Him. We usually turn our backs.
Beck asked for PRAYERS to help him hear God's voice. I pray the same for myself and for the "young turk" who believes, "I Can't TALK to God!" Oh, yes you can - it's called prayer. And He answers :)

Glenn Beck, is just like any other preacher in a church. if he was to tell them that a new sin was found the people would just gasp leaving their mouth wild open. just waiting to do as he told them to do.
