  • Song is from 1987 not 1993.

  • Um....can we go back & "do over"?! I could've had this man but nooo...faithful to my jerk boyfriend at the time. AARRGH! Seriously, ALL the members were/are fantastic musicians and should be duly noted as such. Great memories!!

  • epoca de los 80 cuento no daria por vivir ese tiempo

  • I remember seeing this on TBS Night Tracks (remember when they'd play videos on Friday & Saturday nights?) & I loved it!!! I was so happy to find it here on YouTube & even happier to find it on Amazon so I just bought the MP3 - whoohoo!!!

  • Great Stuff. I used to be SO into this group.

  • I was jumping for joy when I was FINALLY able to download DRN on my iPod!!!

over 20 years later and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this group!! Som of my BEST times was during the height of DNR!! NO REGRETS - my life has had an AWESOME soundtrack!!

  • One of my favourite all time band/artist , i remember at the time being into harder rock and not really appreciating DNR it took me until 1994/5 to appreciate how damn good this band was ,and what a talent Dan was, Love it to this day.

  • Dan Reed had a private show for me and my friends today at my friends house ;)

    He was SO good :D

  • The DRN hit #38 in Billboard, 5-7-88. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Have a great week!

  • I used to cover that song when it was new! Weren't they from Portland?

  • If there was any justice DRN would have been as big as Living Colour...

  • Brings back memories. I saw them every weekend back in my 20's. I think I was even at this recording. They should have made it bigger back then, but I think the whiney grunge was starting up at the time they were going to get their break.

  • darn it sauce, memories..........my cuz Dirty Dave introduced me to them when I was either in jr. high or high school. good times & yes this is a group that never got the credit they deserve.

  • My ex went and saw them in a little Long Island Club in 1988, said they were absolutely incredible! They should all get back together put out a CD and tour! This is one of the sexiest CD's ever made!

  • One of the greatest groups ever. For MANY reasons.

  • get your ads off of here!!! OR pay me to watch them!

  • @ellismeriweather87 What do you mean? What are you talking about?

  • Reminds me of 8th grade home ec at Judson Middle School in 1988!

  • Wonderful song... so catchy & exciting... great times!

  • Dan Reed met with the Dalai Lama after his DRN days, and has had quite a journey since. Check out his interview on Songfacts.

  • these guys blew up big back in the eighties...never forget it

  • I had the privilege of opening for the DRN back in the day around Seattle-Tacoma a couple of times. Truly they are genuine great people, and yes-they were that damn good live!

  • @drummerbuzz

    I'm so jealous!!

  • I love Dan reed

  • bien

  • True the great bands do not get enough play, they are so creative, wish new bands could have imagination! party on wayne!!

  • Yeah dude we were all tight back in the day. I remember Dan when he had hair - actually when all of DRN had hair. The trip to India totally ruined his hair. I think that he and Samson who was also an old soul had a lot in common cuz when they both lost their hair, they kinda totally lost their strength which in Dan's circumstance was the funk. Although I can't really say whether he smelled of funk he had the funk within him - him and his old soul of funk.

  • I have listened to Dan Reed Network ever since this came out, had it on cassette forever till it finally wore out! Ended up special ordering the cd, still love every song on it.... Hung out with the band in Portland Oregon back in the late 80's, Dan is a great guy to talk to, he's a very old soul.........

  • LOVED their first record! Bon Jovi helped launch these guys. Though they never had the success they deserved.

  • spent yesterday with him! amazing guy :)

  • Dan Reed was totally under rated. What a great song!

  • @gwenny04 Well said. Excellent stuff :)

  • @gwenny04 yeah extremly underated :( glad to see him touring now! im seeing him the 12:th

  • I remember my buddies and me going to listen to the DRN out around town all the time back in the day. We knew we were watching a band that was in another league; great band and some of the coolest people you could meet.

  • I remember seeing them at Mississippi Nights in St. Louis. They were incredible

  • Very very great! Actually, super great!!!! All creds to DAN REED NETWORK!

  • I talked to Dan Reed 2 weeks ago and he is really nice, very calm and a kind spirit. Kinda miss the funky sound but what he does now is great too!

  • Hit #38 in Billboard. God bless!

  • Superb AOR-HighTech i just bought slam recently man this band is absolutely awesome!!!!!

  • I know Dan Reed, and it was all about the funk with the Dan Reed Network. Check out that bass slap. Always funky, with a posative attitude. I totally miss seeing this band live. Honest music here, with massive high octaine energy.

  • MEpianist, Journey? nothing like any Journey song I've ever heard...Yikes

A great track and, after hearing it live last night in Stockholm, still sounds as fresh today as it did all those years..

  • This is like watered-down Journey, which is awful to begin with, then they stole keyboard riffs from Madchester. Yikes.

  • @MEpianist Grow some ears. You have never listened to Journey if you think this sounds anything like Journey.

  • I was there in the crowd -- I loved these guys...It was a great show and they did the video after the show

  • lol, real stroll down memory lane for me. i remeber when i first got into music and i was about six and i used to borrow this album from my dad and listen to it in my bedroom while playing playstation one lol, better days :)

  • This one's for you Julian......thanks for a great night!

  • Awesomeeeeeeee!!!

  • Blasted VEVO! We DON'T need to see your ad! Get it off, please! Anyway, 'Ritual' hit #38 in Billboard.

  • Starry Night - Downtown Portland, Oregon 1988.

Saw these guys countless times back in the day. One of the most under-rated bands of the 80's. They had all the tools to make it BIG.

I think PolyGram was throwing all their money at Def Leppard and Bon Jovi at the time. SHAME!

  • @gener8tr Like your handle Gener8tr, kinda gives me a "Slow Rush", ha ha.

  • seeeriasly wikid tune,,

  • I love that song "Ritual" from the band D.R.N. the song peak at # 38 on the Billboard Charts early in 1988.

Thank you VEVO for posting the vid in H.Q.
