  • sounds a lot like deadmau5 has same style

  • @skywalker271 Please, don't offend Soarsweep by comparing it to that douch.

  • @TranceElevation no comparison of people, but of music -- sorry to offend

  • @skywalker271 even musically they are far from being alike...I guess you're not very much into edm

  • @TranceElevation come 2:50, timbres of 'plucked' saw instruments have very similar timbre to that of 'I Remember.' Kick and the 4-on-floor drums are very similar in timbre to Deadmau5. Sidechain compression of noise independent of the final break is in many of his songs. Both are extremely progressive and use extensions beyond the triad in the chords (not just melody). You guessed wrong, and I've left plenty of comments on your other videos which should show you that.

  • @skywalker271 First you should explian me what is the concept of "extremly progressive" : )

Second, I don't hear any plucked saw here. Third, what does it mean 4-on floor drums?

Sidechain compression of noise??? Are you sure you know what you're talking about? That noise there is a simple delayed sweep up : )

Stop it before it isn't too late.

  • @TranceElevation I use extremely progressive subjectively to refer to the variation in chord changes and the method used for composition - which revolves around the musical notes, rather than rhythm or time signature (as is in the case with the genres House and Dubstep)

A plucked saw is a sound made by setting a synth's oscillator shape used in the synthesizer, as well as the envelope

  • @skywalker271 And the term "progressive" refered to house, has nothing to do with the chord variations, the notes, the scales or whatever you tried to say there...

"Progressive" is used to indicate the "progression" of a track rising with new elements added through though the song. It indicates the building, the crescendo, "the progression" during a track. That's why it is called "progressive house".

  • @TranceElevation (to get a plucked saw you set the oscillator to saw shape, have variable Lowpass cutoff with quick attack and short release)

Sidchain compression is a common term in all genres of music that uses the signal of one instrument (in this case, a silent kick) to compress another instrument (the noise)

4 on the floor drums is what seperates drum n' bass from dubstep from trance/house/electronica...kick is on 1,2,3,4 of the beat.

I would have thought a enthusiast of EDM would know

  • @skywalker271 Look now, I didn't ask you for some generic definitions of what is sidechain compression (easily providible with a quick google research). I asked you where in this track you hear sidechained noise? And that thing you're calling "4-on floor drums" is called in the world of music 4/4 kick which simply means 4 kicks on 4 bars.

"The drums" are the whole set of percussive elements including hats, kicks, percussions etc...

As you can clearly see you're talking non sense and bullshit.

  • @TranceElevation Sidechained at noise is at from3:10-3:20, again from 3:34-3:50, and many more places.

I know what I am talking about, I am a music/engineering major, and I hate to see you be a troll on your own video.

  • @skywalker271 Oh yeah, how could I doubt you're a pro engineer judging by your qualified inputs?

Infact, it is very common for audio engineers to not know the difference between drums and kick and of course to call noise sidechain a simple delay effect : )

Look, since I'm a nice person, I already told you to stop it before it's too late. You're just embarrassing with your pathetic try to seem what you're clearly not. It's so obvious and cheap that I'm wondering if you have any self-respect.

  • @TranceElevation more about the terms and methods behind production.

  • 420th viewer!! :D

  • who's the artist and what is the track name?

  • Im not surprised. This genre is really kickin it.

  • This sounds beautiful, i love the beginning..Never heard the track before, awesome upload! Very interesting comment about the progressive house being the genre of this decade, certainly in the recent years and im happy that this genre is being revisited and hope it continues! :]

  • amazin'

  • I would definitely like if you would put in more progressive tracks ;] I need to develop my ear for that genre ! hehe :p

  • @FlowTraceur Good choise. Being opened to many genres will definitely enrich your intending of music.

  • Agreed, Scodt is doing great things for Prog. House. Favorite artist atm however, is Aleksey Beloozerov.

  • @TranceOnRepeat Aleksey Beloozerov is immense, I've been following that guy.

Russia is dominating this genre totally.

Mango, Aleksey, Dinka, Smooth Stab and many many more...is insane.
