@yamenhawit london is just so big and busy, as well as being expensive. Manchester whilst obviously still a city is smaller and more managable. You have still got all the perks, clubs, shops, restaurants etc. You won't feel like a lost child and the people will be more welcoming and friendlier. I know both cities well, and while obviously at times London is wonderful, its more for spending a day or two there. Thats my opinion others will have a different one, hope this helps.
@Jeansey123 you are so right. Ive not managed to spend more than a day in London because I get confused lol! the traffic, the crowds, the commute, the smog - its too much to handle. the north is where its at!!!
no character, ha, what about manchesters beautiful architechture, the royal exchange, john rylands library and castlefield? Manchester does have a personality, one of industrial might and glorified past. Manchester is a city in which old blends with new in matromony. But the heart and soul of the city is its people, you, shakingstevensfrinkfr are souless for not realising how unique manchester is.
oldhams alright but has poor links to the centre> try the likes of stockport, ashton-under-lyne or chorlton; each has their bad areas but equally their nice places
im from london...ive been to manchester and birmingham. they are both pretty big places and you could go on forever arguin about who has the higher population but the truth is, anyone who visits these cities DOESNT CARE. they see it for what it is birmingham has some great new developments and so does manchester, manchester has less grime and fantastic architecture. birmingham has some great new buildings too - the cube will be amazing when finished...but masshouse (search google) WHY?!?!?awful
Birmingham city has a larger population of just around one million...wer as manch city only around 320,000....greater manchester which takes up the other outside towns adds to this figure...same as in Birmingham wher that number rises!....Bham is developing fast!!...manch is nufin special...jus rains alot!!
manchester city has a population of 442,000 but if u count the whole off manc(Greater Manchester) which includes the city of salford,bolton,wigan,bury,ashton-under-lyne,oldham and stockport then it has a higher population than birmingham!!! its close too 2 million anyway
Cheers, i think Manchester's bigger, but not 100% sure, i do know it is a far better city though. The tall building is a hotel, the owner lives in the top 2 floors!! How cool would that be.
Cheers mate, i'm from Maltby, which is a small town near Sheffield. Me and my Girlfriend went to see 'The Last Shadow Puppets' the night before @ the Apollo, fantastic gig. I love Manchester, think it's a great city.
very nice video. thanks for the share
