However, if you ask a simple location, the hill of Golgotha still exists, and must be within a 1-2 hour load bearing journey. I don't put alot of stock in the labelled places today, but suffice it to say I think within a 1 mile radius of the crucifixion scene.

I believe the theme of this movie (that Jesus was tempted to run away from his crucifixion) is the foundation of the true story of Jesus. His group was probably tagged by Pilate as dangerous rebels. The normal way to deal with groups like that was to simply decapitate it, i.e. kill the leader and the followers would scatter. If they couldn't kill the leader, they killed the followers instead. Jesus didn't run away like other leaders would've. He accepted crucifixion so his friends didn't have to

As a Christian I would have enjoyed the Passion without the high Catholic Mary devotions sprinkled all over. But top notch for finally showing a bit more realism of how gory crucifixion was. Hollywood versions are so clean, even this film...

Ecclesiastes 7:20 states that NO MAN WHO DOES GOOD IS WITHOUT SIN. Remember in Matt 12:31, if you without sin, then cast the stone.
