I am between a Moss590 or Benelli SuperNova Tactical for home protection. Which would you say? both feeel pretty solid to me. I like the ergonomics of the Benelli overall. Do they rattle a lot?
It's really a personal call, try both and see which one fits you better. I would say the Benelli is a better quality gun, but the 590 has the advantage of greater capacity (of course you can always buy shellholders and fit them over the stock).
i can't get my supernova to hold more than 2 shells in the mag even though the shells are 2 3/4. I can't figure out what wrong so im goin to take the gun apart and see.
Ha. No need to take it completely apart. The shotgun comes 'plugged' from the factory to accept 2+1. Just unscrew the knob at the end of the grip, get a needle nose plier, pinch the spring and remove the plug. Voila, your Benelli can now accept 4 + 1. Now go out there and have fun.

I'm actually going out tomorrow to buy this gun as my first - i've researched both the Remington and the 500... I think this is by far the most solid.
@madpelletgunner I wouldn't say it's much better. But how can you go wrong with the reputation of the 870 and 500. I have a 20ga m500 that survived a car wreck. Someone was drunk and flipped his truck over, needless to say we are no longer friends. But my Nova (Supernova without the comfortech stock) has not done me wrong for as long as I've had it. I like my Nova since it requires less cleaning after use.

Went out dove hunting the other week. Shot 14! Was a great hunt, everyone had a awesome time, and boy were the birds flying.
