@pclose11 - When we inspected his front shoulder from the first shot, it had done enough damage to have been a fatal blow - would have taken about 1 minute, but no reason to let him suffer so the second shot was called and was a good call.
@pureprotea1 - Oh no - he was awesome. Rodney and I formed a great friendship over the week and I would hunt with him or have my wife hunt with him any day.
Thanks - compared to my other shots, I still feel a little bad about this one. I know, they can't all be 100% instant, so lucky for the springbok my follow-up was instant. He was a big, older guy that had led a full life and I'm glad I had the opportunity to be a part of it.
