When I was a young child in the 1950s our family had the EP with Coulter's Candy and 3 other tracks and the record was played regularly.
I finally had the great pleasure of meeting Joe yesterday at his house in Ayrshire and he autographed a cd which I had purchased and which contained all the songs I loved listening to more than 50 years ago!
Fabulous to hear Joe and Sally on You Tube, and also happy memories of the Joe Gordon folk Four, We had a lot of happy times way back then in Aberdeen and Dundee, Have to get the CD of the Crookit Bawbee which was an all time favourite with my parents and family. Jean F
great video, i was bought up listening to the record ' the gay gordon' could never understand a word, very funny record, have just had it put on c.d. with songs like govan billard hall etc.
Just 4 men and their acoustic instruments playing live to air on TV using songs centuries in the making. These guys are authentic, 'unplugged' and way cool!

Young people (me included) hated this programme: young men dressed like their granpas in 'smart' cardigans and collar and tie. How many times did my mother say, 'Why can't you smarten yourself up like these boys?' Thank god for Gene Vincent is all I can say - he was probably nearer the Scottish heart than this crap.
Young people (me included ) loved this programme, and loved Gene Vincent as well.
What I cannot understand is how you were able to watch (and hate) this programme in the early 1960's, given that, according to your Youtube channel you are only 29 at the present time.
I remember as a guitar-obsessed teenager that the lead guitarist in the Joe Gordon Folk Four was one of my heroes. (shows how long ago it was since I was a teenager !)
The other guitarist I worshipped was Denny Wright, who played with Lonnie Donegan.
These were the only "competent" guitar players who could be seen regularly on UK TV in the late fifties/early sixties, as I recall.
Thank you for uploading this. I've been looking for White Heather Club items. Now 50, born Edinburgh but English - we all watched this when I was a kid. Seems so quaint now.
I toured with the guitar player in 1967.we wre in shetland in the middle of winter.
george hill spent his sixty first birthday having a drink with me and talking about
his L7 gibson guitar and his Ampeg Amp

Not to detract from your comment, but mostly unplugged... On the left the lead guitar player is plugged in.
