I bought the phase 90 clone back in 07' and put it together and it didn't work. A guy told me to solder the other side of the board, never got around to it.

id say the opti beats the 5-knob. it maintains the natural tone the best (the 5-knob seems to either lose some of the bass, or add some treble, its not as transparent). cheers gearmanndude, i now know that in this case, the cheaper and simpler option is better :D rock on!
