  • i find it funny when Amanda changes her lyrics and the fans singing get the words wrong, and are like "wtf?"

  • =( I'm heartbroken.... I know I was one of those warblers! It's awesome to relive a bit of an epic show that you were there for, thanks for posting it

  • Thanks for posting. I love this song sooo much and I cannot find any other live video's of it other than this one. Anybody know of any?

  • Amanda = Love, Life, Beauty

    Brain = Amazment, Awe, Energy

  • i need more of this performance is amazinggggggg

  • in no way do i mean this negatively, because amanda palmer is ninety percent of what makes my life bearable... but i love how she gets the base note wrong occasionally.... it's so human. i sometimes forget that she's just... a person.

  • Amanda, more, Amanda!

  • So much bloody power for just one set of vocal chords

  • She is a excellent artist

  • not such a big fan of the sing-a-long. amanda has such a great voice and all you can hear is the crappy echo from the audience. that's like going to hear an opera and attempting to warble along with the singer. horrible.

  • I'm sorry, but it sounds like you should just listen to the studio album then. The Dresden Dolls song "Sing" speaks to their own encouragement of lively audiences. Seeing them live is truly exciting, and I'd never wish anyone to hold back in that experience.

  • I actually tend to agree with the above comment, all the singing in the audience does tend to take away from the performance at hand. I've been to 6 shows, the first few times I saw them the only song people even vaguely knew was Coin-Operated Boy, but when I saw them Halloween '05 the audience was louder than the performance at times, and that's extremely annoying after paying nearly $40 (after fees and transportation, not to mention food) to see a band live.

  • im actually the opposite, i think the crowd adds to the energy of the performance. a dead and uninvolved crowd is never fun.

  • well it's not a dead and uninvolved crowd I'm looking for - but there are times when singing along is appropriate (Sing for example, Coin Operated Boy, when they did Flesh Failures etc) and when it's really not (the beginning of The Kill for instance) I mean when I'm trying to hear the emotion in Amanda's voice and it's being drowned out by the 15 year old in front of me, that pisses me off.

  • yeah good point hah. but i guess theyre just kinda trying to have fun, even though its not very fitting.

  • @rumblegirl seriously, i can't understand why any dolls fan would be uptight enough to take exception towards a bunch of drunk fans singing along at the top of their lungs.....obviously you, my friend, have missed the point of this whole thing that they're doing

  • omg i so want to see them live:)...but theyre not a band anymore....so yeah that sucks

  • Hey, you could still have the chance to see them: "Brian confirmed that the band is currently on hiatus but emphasized that he and Amanda are on good terms and that they will get together again when it feels right for both of them."

  • I know i know but you had to be friggin 16 to get in the show; im only 15 so it was impossible to get in but some of my friends got in. Ah, i like Amanda Palmer's solo stuff to but you gotta admit that its not the same as The Dolls.

  • @bitta2sweet They are on tour again starting Halloween. I'm so excited.

  • @WhoaItsTanner i am seeing them live this friday in San Francisco.

  • i was there, woot.

i hope they do something with the footage they shot.

  • YAY a group of friends and I were still standing right there. AMAZING show. I want to know what those cameras were for

  • I love the fact that the crowd was singing with her, that is so amazing.

  • Hm, I don't... not at the couplet, it's so fragile when Amanda sings it and I like it better. But I probably would scream along because it's a great song ;)

  • My friends was there. She met them. OH MY GOD.

    I wish I'd been there.

  • What city was this in? I saw them in Kansas City in may and this looks like the venue

  • Ogden Theatre in Denver, Colorado

  • Thanks for uploading! I was there and one of the first ones to scream! I was very excited to hear them play this live.... :)

  • oh i love the song... too bad the didn't put the original ending on the "no virginia" album.

so i really hope this show will be released on dvd... or at least that there will be a live recording of this song released.

  • The ending they add on to the song here is actually the ending to a Simple Minds song called 'Don't You Forget About Me'. I'm wondering if it's inclusion in this is a kind of homage to Breakfast Club (great film).

  • wow you were really close! lovely quality as well!

  • I was there. It was amazing, thanks for uploading a video.
