The spanish legion can be: Militia (Hastati) 1st line, Scutarii (Princep) 2nd line and Bull warriors (Triarii) 3rd line. The rest auxiliars like roman auxiliars, can be incredibly usely.

the principal tactic of spanish is the guerrilla, there are many lighte troops and heavi fast troops , but you need a forest to do this, and I use the scutarii like legionaries, the slingers like archers, and the militia like spearmen.

You should read "Greek and Roman Warfare, battles, tactics, and trickery." And also "From Democrats to Kings" by Michael Scott. They're two very good books.

At he end the greek formation was kind of like a "lambda"... I can imagine the quick battle plan:

Hoplite: "My king, at this rate we will all die! What should we do?!"

Kleombrotos: "Right. Let's form a lambda, to show how much we love our city!"

Hello prince, my request for a what if battle is: Khosrau II VS Atilla the Hun, you probably know who Khorau II was, he captured the whole Byzantine ruled middle east including Egypt and Byzantine Anatolia, he was even close to capture Constantinople. However you will probably have to use Barbarian invasion for this.

@Deegster96 I used to have the same problem. It only occurred after I installed this program "Hamachi" for creating free IP's or servers or some shit like that. Well, I uninstalled Hamachi and the game was back to normal. I have no idea what Hamachi was doing to cause that problem, but in case you have Hamachi or a similar program, you may want to uninstall it if you want to play Rome Total War online.

i think it would be INCREDIBLE if you made some of these videos cinematic. Low angles on certain parts. Like when you see the men stampeding over the bodies of the horses and men....that would make an AWESOME shot!

and you can do this for each game and only have to make one video per week.

he should of encircled is own spartans to protect his most valueable units, when you had annoyed him with your own circle of slingers, and towards the end I felt your oponent had each of his units to far from each other, leaving them prone to a cavalry rush.

Hey guys I have an issue with Rome Total War which I'm struggling to find a solution to a problem in Rome vs Greek City states 6 Precipes , 1 Armored General, 2 Equites vs 6 Armored Hoplites, 3 greek cav, 1 armored general. As you can see i like using roman units according to there time line but i cant find any strategy to kill those dam hoplites my infantry routes to quickly 30 secs lol. Any advice on how to conquer hoplites with precipes not including numbers not number related

@TheRazgrizBlaze Engage them with infantry and then charge or shoot them in the back and the sides. But mostly in the back. Make those equites count.

Beating phalanxes is all about flanking. At least the easy way.

you could set your precipes to autofire and let them pump the hoplites full of pilla then hope for some sort of surround with your precipes.

@TheRazgrizBlaze as I said in a lot of my recent videos, you have to throw all of your javelins on them before engaging. Surround them too. Use any missiles on their flanks/rear

(secondary throws pila from behind) But I did try the units you normally use early legionary. and early legionary first cohorts and they rocked the house. I guess the difficulty has something to do with it too cause the pricipes seem to rout pretty much intact guess its all those spears xD. I did manage to find away though using the cavalry i had but thanks anyways prince nice game too! :D

@TheRazgrizBlaze Try to isolate the hoplite units and attack each one with two units at a time and try to engage them from the front. While one unit is in the front, put your other unit on one of the hoplite's flanks then charge your cavalry into the back. If you have trouble isolating a hoplite use your equites right in front of the hoplites and one might chase you. Then just run back to your troops, and do what is said above.

@froggejn Yeah i managed to murder the hoplites a while back just that at very hard battle modes your units rout easily and flee :D but if your quick enough with equite's and general cav if you have him constant hammer and anvil should destroy them easily. Oh and the computer keeps its unit together constantly apart for its cav which Greek cav isn't that powerful 4 equites vs 4 greek cav equites win :D but thanks for advice.
