Even then it would be able to fund 77% of it's obligations till 2085. They usually look out 75 years. If they'd create some jobs, there wouldn't be a small shortfall in 25 years. But if there is a shortfall, they can fix it easily by raising the cap. The rich only pay into SS on 106k of their earnings.

Wake up GOP! The only candidate we have that is capable of dealing with the issues we face and winning the general election is Ron Paul!
5 reasons this is so,
#1 Romney cannot foster the evangelical vote, Paul can.
#2 Romney cannot foster the Tea Party vote, Paul can.
#3 Romney cannot foster the young vote, Paul can.
#4 Veterans and active military support Paul over any other candidate by a long shot.
#5 He is actually an expert on Economics and the Constitution unlike most other candidates.

The New Yorker had a piece on Romney's approach to Health Care. It basically said that he bases policy on data, but when it got down to the most delicate decisions and both liberal and conservative minded approaches were equally plausible and risky, he side with the conservative approach. I don't support republicans but that is sound governing; if you read the article.

@kidpoes You can't listen to a thing these rejects say. They've been saying that Social Security was bankrupt since 1965. Read the trustees report, SS is fully funded for the next 25 years. Even then it would be able to fund 77% of it's obligations till 2085. They usually look out 75 years. If they'd create some jobs, there wouldn't be a small shortfall in 25 years. But if there is a shortfall, they can fix it easily by raising the cap. The rich only pay into SS on 106k of their earnings.

Example: The average worker pays $54,000 towards Medicare their working life. The average retiree, from retirement through death, have $250,000 in medical expenses.
