I have a Rottweiler i adopted a few months ago. Her name is Echo, She was born in 2003 but she is a beautiful lady for her age. I am always with her. I walk her in the park and she is friendly with other dogs. Echo is like my shadow and is my best friend. Echo loves to sleep on my bed. Before she sleeps i stroke her and i kiss her goodnight and she kisses back.
Echo will always be there by my side until she takes her last breath and goes to sleep.
I have had German Shepards most of my life. I love them and always will. But my GF had a rescue Rottie that I fell in love with. Then we had to have her put down due to liver cancer. My GSD went into mourning he wouldn't eat, play or do anything other than lay in the floor. We got another rescue, another rottie. and to this day I am not sure who resued who. My GSD is gone and we now have only Rotties. What amazing dogs they are. Soooo loving

My Rottweiler has been gone for a couple years now, but I miss him dearly. He was the gentlest, most intelligent dog I have ever owned. He was loyal, obedient, affectionate, and tender. He would wail when I left the house, and would be there waiting for me when I returned, ready to follow me wherever I went. RIP Mac, and long live this wonderful breed.
Rottweilers are the best dog to have they're a protector, a friend and so much more. I have 2 Rottweilers of my own they the best dogs they are so loving. i've had rottweilers even since i was little Rottweilers arn't mean its the owners not the dogs.
When I had a heart attack I was alone. I could not even crawl to find my phone. Sadie Mae found the phone in the side of a chair and brought it to me.

Beautiful video clip. Rotti's are a great dog, if you love them and treat them with respect, kindness, praise and encouragement they will be the best dog you could ever wish for.
But if you're mean and hard on them they will become fearful and bite out of being scared, just like any animal.
Treat them as you would like to be treated and you won't find a better, more loyal and more loving dog.
I adore the Rottweiler, we have owned 6 of them,- each of them has come from Rescue - we currently have Four, Magunda 10 - Precous 8 - Pooh Bear 6 and our latest Rutger 1 1/2;
We have never had a problem adding them to the existing pack. They are very social, big hits at the dog park. They are trained and they are family members.
They all stay indoors and we have never had a single bit of trouble with any of them.

I have a rottie myself.She is the most peacefull,loving and calm dog i ever owned.She plays all the time ,and is friendly not only with family members but with strangers too,and she is already 2 years old ,so not a puppy anymore. Sometimes i fell that if somebody would want to hurt me she will play with ste stranger instead to defend me:)))))))))))))

We bought our first Rotty after years of raising and saving pit bulls. We never looked back! Since then we have owned and lost many! I now have the son of our first his name is Jr. he is my son but he is 10 today. He is good and healthy but I know that after 10 there is usually not alot more time I am cherishing every day with him! Rotty's are the best breed of dog I have ever known! oh god I know how that feels :( My doberman had cancer in his toe and had to amputate it but wasnt fast enough so we had to put him to sleep then my rottwieler died from her instestines entwining so we had to putt her to sleep then my other doggie alkira got hit by a bus and I saw her get hit so its really hard just to sleep or close my eyes without seeing her :(

or they merely got a dog as a guard and didnt realise what they where getting themselves into with reeds such as rotties pitbulls boerboels etc. They are stong willed breeds generally speaking they're attitude ranges from id prefer not to do that to try and make me and subsequently they require a firm hand to convince them you know best. At least this is my general experience with them all of mine have been adult rescued dogs with 'issues' apart from 1 pup.

daveygovanlad- Yes primarily it is the owners handling of a dog that leads to aggression. Its not to say that there are cases where a dog (not breed) a specific isolated dog can be naturally aggressive although i doubt theres ant real study into i would say that dogs like people can be prone to similar pyschotic disorders. But in general terms yes it is the owners fault if a dog turns out aggressive they obviously didnt put in the time and effort with them

NO YOU DO NOT as 1 not all dog bites are reported, 2. hospitals do not catergorise animal attacks into species let alone breed, ie a person bitten and given lacerations by a border collie, and a child acedenlty knocked over and given a broken nose by a neo mastiff, and a farmer who has his feet crushed by his bull, would all be put under "animal attack". 3 even if it did list attacks...

My husband and I raised pure bred German Rotts up until last year when our female was hit on the highway then this past July, our male (who was 11) had to be put down bc of the bloat. Max (our male) played w/ my kids (2yr old twin girls) since birth. They are gentle, loving and VERY VERY loyal dogs. No one ever told me I couldn't have him bc of his breed but I do believe they'd be dead b4 my dogs wouldve been gone. THank YOU!!

BSL laws should be for the owner not the dog. Its the owner that makes the dog not the dog that makes itself mean. I have a GSD and will only get a dog that is subject to these BS rules, as they are the most loyal and loving animals I have ever seen.

I grew up with two rottweiler from a baby to a teenager and never did I feel intimidated by them. In my case they were trained guard dogs (my dad worked nights and didn't want to leave me and my mum at home on our own). I would completely trust a well trained rottweiler with my family, they have a great temperament. It is a shame a few isolated incidents have tarnished such a trustworthy breed.

But we only see the bad part of rotties, we didn't see how their irresponsible owners trained them. That's those IRRESPONSIBLE OWNER'S FAULT. The Rottweiler is a wonderful and noble dog who should not have to suffer because of stupid people who have no business owning ANY dog. I am a vet tech and I have nothing but love and admiration for Rottweilers. They are such loving and beautiful dogs. There must be an end of unfair laws propogated by lazy politicians. No dog breed should be singled out because of stupid people who are too lazy to make the effort to reaise a dog properly.
in my area are 5 big flats and like 40 people living here where afraid of rottweilers but they seen me training my dog and she totaly ignoring other dogs and people untill i say she is free to walk towards someone, when people stroke her they say omg sweet dog SHAME that many people f*ck up such a good dog
I HATE that people feel its their right to judge me on the kind of dog i own. However - when people take the time to say hello and meet him they realise what a big softie he really is. My partners cousin is PETRIFIED of dogs but after we persuaded him to meet ours, within 30mins he was calling him over just so he could stroke him and give him cuddles!
My rotty is my world - we adopted him 5 months ago and he will be 3 in August. He is the most loving, friendly, loyal and loveable dog that i could ever wish for and i wouldn't be without him!
People look at me in the street because of the kind of dog he is - and look as if to say "how irresponsible" i'm not - far from it infact - he has been properly trained - even more so since we got him - he is always on a lead when out in public and is my gentle giant.
People need to get educated we have 2 rottis and they are so sweet we adopted both and we love them so much. It's the owner not the dog! People are missing out on such a beautibul breed.
I am going to buy a rotweiller very soon from a friend. I had before many dogs and sometimes took care the mother of the dog i will get from that friend when he had jobs to do ( when i say took care i mean sometimes even a week and the mother thinks also me as her owner friend e.t.c. ) but what i noticed is that they eat a lot !!! and when i say a lot i really mean it !!! Also to mention rottweilers are not the only cute dogs !!! ALL THE DOGS ARE CUTE !!!
I completley agree. I have a pure bread male Rottweiler and he is the sweetest dog I have ever met. You can't blame my dog for other people training their Rotties badly. Maybe his breed does have a bad rep but I love him and he's is the sweetest dog I have ever owned. Though I do love my other dogs.

We have to be aware as responsible owners, of what a dog COULD do. I would NEVER say my dogs would not bite, because they are dogs and that's what dogs do.. No matter what breed we own as owners we have to realise our dogs COULD bite, once we realise that there will be so many less horror stories in the Press, we have to be aware of what COULD happen... If you put 100% trust in your dog never to bite, you are doing your dog an injustice no matter what breed it is..

The law and the goverment allow weapons, drugs and bombs to be improted into the country and dont do enouth, they allow murderers and perverts to escape justice. Then when a breed thats pure in its loyalty and freindly at heart bites (not even hard) a stranger he may get put down for it! The human law and goverment run by democrats just does not work!

We bought our first Rotty after years of raising and saving pit bulls. We never looked back! Since then we have owned and lost many! I now have the son of our first his name is Jr. he is my son but he is 10 today. He is good and healthy but I know that after 10 there is usually not alot more time I am cherishing every day with him! Rotty's are the best breed of dog I have ever known! Great video. Today I put my rottweiler to sleep. I already miss him. "Oso" was his name, he had cancer. I amcrying while I watch this video and wite these words. Take care of your dogs, they are really special. I have heard that a lot of rottweiler died from cancer Does anybody know if there is a link of the breed and this terrible disease?

oh god I know how that feels :( My doberman had cancer in his toe and had to amputate it but wasnt fast enough so we had to put him to sleep then my rottwieler died from her instestines entwining so we had to putt her to sleep then my other doggie alkira got hit by a bus and I saw her get hit so its really hard just to sleep or close my eyes without seeing her :(

or they merely got a dog as a guard and didnt realise what they where getting themselves into with reeds such as rotties pitbulls boerboels etc. They are stong willed breeds generally speaking they're attitude ranges from id prefer not to do that to try and make me and subsequently they require a firm hand to convince them you know best. At least this is my general experience with them all of mine have been adult rescued dogs with 'issues' apart from 1 pup.

daveygovanlad- Yes primarily it is the owners handling of a dog that leads to aggression. Its not to say that there are cases where a dog (not breed) a specific isolated dog can be naturally aggressive although i doubt theres ant real study into i would say that dogs like people can be prone to similar pyschotic disorders. But in general terms yes it is the owners fault if a dog turns out aggressive they obviously didnt put in the time and effort with them

NO YOU DO NOT as 1 not all dog bites are reported, 2. hospitals do not catergorise animal attacks into species let alone breed, ie a person bitten and given lacerations by a border collie, and a child acedenlty knocked over and given a broken nose by a neo mastiff, and a farmer who has his feet crushed by his bull, would all be put under "animal attack". 3 even if it did list attacks...

I wish more thought like you! My husband and I raised pure bred German Rotts up until last year when our female was hit on the highway then this past July, our male (who was 11) had to be put down bc of the bloat. Max (our male) played w/ my kids (2yr old twin girls) since birth. They are gentle, loving and VERY VERY loyal dogs. No one ever told me I couldn't have him bc of his breed but I do believe they'd be dead b4 my dogs wouldve been gone. THank YOU!!

I grew up with two rottweiler from a baby to a teenager and never did I feel intimidated by them. In my case they were trained guard dogs (my dad worked nights and didn't want to leave me and my mum at home on our own). I would completely trust a well trained rottweiler with my family, they have a great temperament. It is a shame a few isolated incidents have tarnished such a trustworthy breed.

Think about it, if rotties really like how those bad news showed, why still lots people here trying to save them. Cuz we own rotties, we train them right and we know how cute and lovly they are. btw, there are many news about how a rotty save their owner's life, have you ever read one of those? I'm very glad to hear that. I love dogs too. I own a rotty, and I TRUST my dog. I know there are many people like you might heard some bad news about rotties. But we only see the bad part of rotties, we didn't see how their irresponsible owners trained them. That's those IRRESPONSIBLE OWNER'S FAULT. Statistically speaking, more people had been bitten by a German Shepherd. It's doesn't mean Shepherd are aggressive, there are just more of them then Rott. The Rottweiler is a wonderful and noble dog who should not have to suffer because of stupid people who have no business owning ANY dog. I am a vet tech and I have nothing but love and admiration for Rottweilers. They are such loving and beautiful dogs. There must be an end of unfair laws propogated by lazy politicians. No dog breed should be singled out because of stupid people who are too lazy to make the effort to reaise a dog properly.

I HATE that people feel its their right to judge me on the kind of dog i own. However - when people take the time to say hello and meet him they realise what a big softie he really is. My partners cousin is PETRIFIED of dogs but after we persuaded him to meet ours, within 30mins he was calling him over just so he could stroke him and give him cuddles!

My rotty is my world - we adopted him 5 months ago and he will be 3 in August. He is the most loving, friendly, loyal and loveable dog that i could ever wish for and i wouldn't be without him!
People look at me in the street because of the kind of dog he is - and look as if to say "how irresponsible" i'm not - far from it infact - he has been properly trained - even more so since we got him - he is always on a lead when out in public and is my gentle giant.

I am going to buy a rotweiller very soon from a friend. I had before many dogs and sometimes took care the mother of the dog i will get from that friend when he had jobs to do ( when i say took care i mean sometimes even a week and the mother thinks also me as her owner friend e.t.c. ) but what i noticed is that they eat a lot !!! and when i say a lot i really mean it !!! Also to mention rottweilers are not the only cute dogs !!! ALL THE DOGS ARE CUTE !!!

I completley agree. I have a pure bread male Rottweiler and he is the sweetest dog I have ever met. You can't blame my dog for other people training their Rotties badly. Maybe his breed does have a bad rep but I love him and he's is the sweetest dog I have ever owned. Though I do love my other dogs.

We have to be aware as responsible owners, of what a dog COULD do. I would NEVER say my dogs would not bite, because they are dogs and that's what dogs do.. No matter what breed we own as owners we have to realise our dogs COULD bite, once we realise that there will be so many less horror stories in the Press, we have to be aware of what COULD happen... If you put 100% trust in your dog never to bite, you are doing your dog an injustice no matter what breed it is..

The law and the goverment allow weapons, drugs and bombs to be improted into the country and dont do enouth, they allow murderers and perverts to escape justice. Then when a breed thats pure in its loyalty and freindly at heart bites (not even hard) a stranger he may get put down for it! The human law and goverment run by democrats just does not work!
