I live in Italy, I have two Land Tortoise and usually, my tortoises live in an area were the land is half grass and half moist dirt. Now, I upgraded their home by opening an area were they can eat plenty of grass and leaves. Plus, I built them a little house were they fir together, with brick walls and an inclined tile draning system so that the water can drain away from the house. And yes, my tortoise home has a 4 layer brick wall so they dont escape.
hey do u no they grow rllllllllllllllllllllly biggggggggggg ive seen one wats 20 and its weighs 13 stone and is still glwing and ive seen loads more sulcata. lol ive got 10 and getting 2 more today if u want any advice u can ask me....i have 5 spur thighs, 3 hermanns and 2 horsfield and i might be getting 2 more hermanns today lol the tortoise family lol
Nice one! You've probably dug that fence real deep now have you? I hope so because these lil' critters are just bit too good at digging holes and tunnels :)
Hey! I try let them live as close as if they were in natural medium. That means when it rains, well it rains for them too ;) They have enough shelters, The enclosure actually is kind of different now, more elaborated ;)
wicked mate, prob one of the best outdoor enclosures i have ever seen. Its good to see keepers that take time and dedication into thare enclosure design, and thare not just shoved in a bloody fish tank. I only got 1 querery, ware do u live? cus i hope its hot enough for them outside lol
Hep! Sorry for late reply. I'm in Switzerland, those species are accustommed to middle Europe climate and hibernate in winter ;) Thank you for your comment!

Yep! I digged about 40cm deep, and it is protected from below, above, and 360° ;) 40cm below is made of concrete and metallic web.

Cheers~ no turtle is happy in a fish tank but a setup like that is significant to their well being and durability.
