I'm 37 years old and I love HP books ans movies, and I cried every time I learned that someone die in the books, and every time I watched DH 1 and 2 I cried as well too!
I donno about that NightOwlAtNight45. I've read them all and I cried just as much, if not more, when Snape died as I did when Dumbledor, Dobby, and Hedwig died. Fred's death got me too.
While no understanding who Sirius, Lupin, Tonks, and Cedric are is understandable (they were introduced in later books). Only a brainless moron could ask about the others. James and Lily are Harry's Parents. Fred, as in Fred Weasley. One of the Weasley twins (the other being george) Colin is a first year introduced in the second book. Kid with camera. @krrboo they didn't die for their friends. They died for their freedom and for a better world. If nobody would have fight, Voldemort would have won and the world that we saw in the first book would have been destroyed.

omg i was depressed for weeks after i read the deathly hallows especially over severus i mean i love him to death and he had such a shitty life i was crying for nearly 4 hours i couldnt even see. :(
I was taking a taks test and was done so I read the book and I read when dobby died so I started crying. Then when I got to Fred I started to bawl so bad the kid behind me gave me a hug
sirius black, dobby, fred, remus lupin, tonks, madeye, hedwig... they were my favourite characters... i cried so much when each of them died.. and all the marauders are gone now.. tragic irony.. how sad
But just think... If Harry's parents didn't die Harry never would have gotten the scar and never would have been connected to Voldy and then he wouldn't have been a parselmouth and never would have been able to open the locket to destroy it and blahblahblah... Of course JK could have written it different but shes a genius for writing it how she did! :D

He loved her with all his heart. Voldemort going after that family and in the end killing Lily is what made Snape change his ways. Him killing dumbledore was granting dumbledore's request. Snape did everything in his power to protect harry because of Lily.

I cried in the movie theatres (probably mis-spelling), after Sirius died, and my ex-boyfriend didn't even understood:( he was so unsensitive! How could you not cry when characters in Harry Potter die? But when I read the book later, I cried even more heavier. Sorry to say, but words describe the story so much better then the movies do.

Even though it makes me want to cry when they died in the book, please don't think I'm a monster but It's only realistic that they died. It was a war. People die in war, even loved ones but I wish they didn't have to die, it makes the book so more emotional to read.

@MrEriken If you had any f***ing brains you would read the superior books. Snape was loyal to voldemort at one point that all changed. Snape had been childhood friends with Harry's mother. He loved her with all his heart. Voldemort going after that family and in the end killing Lily is what made Snape change his ways. Him killing dumbledore was granting dumbledore's request. Snape did everything in his power to protect harry because of Lily.

Thank you for making me cry, this was too sad for me. I had a little smile when Hedwig's quote was "Hoot!". And @moniquequecremers1. They are called the Black Sisters and the Black motto is "Toujours Pur" which is French for always pure; adding the blood part just made it better. I cried in the movie theatres (probably mis-spelling), after Sirius died, and my ex-boyfriend didn't even understood:( he was so unsensitive! How could you not cry when characters in Harry Potter die? But when I read the book later, I cried even more heavier. Sorry to say, but words describe the story so much better then the movies do.

Even though it makes me want to cry when they died in the book, please don't think I'm a monster but It's only realistic that they died. It was a war. People die in war, even loved ones but I wish they didn't have to die, it makes the book so more emotional to read.

Right three people who should NOT have died are Tonks, Lupin and Colin. 1. Tonks shouldn't have died cos she was only there cos of lupin and they died together which was sweet yeah but kind of twisted in a way. 2. Colin was soooo sweet and whoever killed him was sick. seriously. But i stress tonks's and lupin's deaths as a complaint to J.K herself
