  • Green plants metabolise all available carbon dioxide. Mankind has led to an increase of life on earth but obviously no affect on the weather. That is all lie from nuclear power and the mentally subnormal

  • Global warming was nuclear fiction last millennia. Do they pay well? For our lives.

  • 65 million years ago all the fossil fuels were circulating the environment as carbon dioxide. Sea levels were 60 metres lower and, there was 65% more life on earth except in a natural ice ages

  • Photosynthesis uses up all the carbon dioxide from the air. I will keep saying this am sure people understand! Photosynthesis controls the level of carbon dioxide left in the evening air around the world

  • 63 people don't know the difference between weather and climate

  • what ever happened to fact based opinions people?

  • Global warming is PR for nuclear power

  • @JonThm

You ahve said that three times now. On this page.

  • Photosynthesis converts all available carbon dioxide into new life on earth

  • @MyJonJonify

Doesn't explain how it is risen to 380 ppm so fast though (as opposed to a maximum of 280 ppm the last 60000 years).

But you are right - The excess carbon dioxide IS used in planth growth, there is even some extra plant growth. However, it also has an effect on the ocean, which is slowly getting acidified.

Also - The new life eventually dies, thus releasing the CO2 back into the air. The plants are of a different cycle then our current Excess CO2 comes from.

  • Global warming is nuclear fiction

  • Global warming he's are fiction nuclear power uses to spend Europe's money on nuclear plants

  • Responders. get a sense of humour FFS

  • This is nothing but misinformation

    Plenty things could happen

I could win the lotto, i never do

Thinking i could win the lotto should i spend the money now?

Well i could win the lotto so shouldn't i count on it happening? Of course not!!!

None of this is based on proven science.

    It is all hypothetical.

Since when do we make disicions based on hypothetical scenarios.

We are better and smarter than this!

We need to look at the people who claim these things, and why they are claiming them.

  • @tiffcomp actually, it's more like if you discovered some method of discovering next weeks lotto numbers, so you could spend all that money in the week beforehand and get it back when the lottery draws, but you might win less than you spent due to someone else getting the same numbers.

  • Photosynthesis metabolises carbon dioxide

  • The natural climate started cooling 14 years ago

  • In the Jurassic all fossil fuels were circulating is carbon dioxide and carbohydrates. Sea levels were 60 metres lower than today and there was 65% more life on earth

  • @JonThm please just study the facts, you have no understanding of science. The vast majority of climate scientists (the people who understand it more than anyone else) accept man made global warming. The huge scepticism is helped out by the oil barring who are just fine atm, please understand this is my future and my children's future that's being destroyed

  • Photosynthesis takes in all the carbon dioxide it can get

  • Global warming was fiction from nuclear fission after Chernobyl. Propagated by the stupid.

  • Carbon dioxide increases plant growth but has no affect on the weather

  • Plants metabolise all the available carbon dioxide to form new life on earth

  • Global warming was their response of nuclear power to chernobil. The world started cooling naturally for 13 years ago

  • Nature does nuclear fusion from regular water

  • Lightening does nuclear fusion today and has done for 3.8 billion years. A steam plasma tube will do it in an engineering plant today. No carbon dioxide.

  • The world has been cooling for 13 years-naturally

  • Nature has done nuclear fusion from water for 3.8 billion years

  • The world has been cooling for 13 years. Go outside more.

  • Global warming was fiction from nuclear power last millennia

  • Nuclear fusion from water is here. Power with no carbon dioxide.

  • @JonThm But when soon?

  • We don't want to hear about the medieval warm period, we don't want to hear about how temperatures dropped as carbon emissions increased for four decades from the 40's to the 80's, we don't want to hear about how the troposphere shows no build up of greenhouse gases, we don't want to hear about sun activity and its direct correlation with climate change, we don't want to hear about arctic ice samples showing how CO2 lags behind temperature increase. There's money to be made and peasants to flog

  • @champclay18 You must be listening again to Jeremy Clason's wisdom on the subject.

  • @Professor6871 The oceans of the world comprise some 70% of the Earth's surface. They are like the lungs of the Earth, absorbing and releasing carbon dioxide. They have been doing this for billions of years and a rise in the amount of CO2 is essentially meaningless. The carbon dioxide global warming and climate change hoax and burning fossil fuel is a fraud. Many scientists have cited excellent scientific reasons why the carbon dioxide global climate change is a hoax.

  • @champclay18 Thank God Human lungs aren't like that. Full of Fluid, call a Resp. Therapist STAT for Deep Suctioning/and/or a breathing treatment.I agree, I believe a lot, if not all Global Warming is a hoax. Some say it's caused to a degree, large? By Methane. well. i don't intend to q

  • @champclay18 I got cut off, I was saying, i don't intend to quit eating, so to people who go on and on about it, i'll say get some BEANO, or get a cork and SHUT UP, HA HA, Not you, i agree with you that a lot of it is overexaggerated.

  • @champclay18 Many scientists? You mean the handful of them like Christie and Lindzen? Look up Le Chatelier's Principal, Henry's Law and the partial pressure of CO2. It is increasing due to our emissions of greenhouse gases via the combustion of fossil fuels. The oceans are currently absorbing more CO2 than they are emitting. You have to completely ignore this fact in order to state what you just stated.

  • @champclay18 Most of what you said there are outright lies. The medieval warm period is well known in the science and is in every recent reconstruction. Between the 40s and the 80s you should look up what the increases in atmospheric aerosols were. you are taking a much too simplistic look. The troposphere does show a buildup of greenhouse gases. Sun activity does not directly correlate. And dealing with CO2 lagging temperature rise look up Le Chatelier's Principal and ocean acidification.

  • @champclay18 Well, actually we've heard all of that, and most of it is utterly irrelevant to the current episode of climate change, while other claims have been debunked. For example, your solar activity claim: of course, there are broad correlations between solar output and climate, but there is NO correlation between them and the temperature trends of the last 50 years. Blech, keep reading propaganda.

  • Green plants have prevented a global rise in carbon dioxide in the air over last two centuries. Global warming was fiction invented by nuclear power. Who makes plutonium and toxic death

  • Fuck all you assholes one way or the other. This is: A Funny Ass Video.

  • Look like there's going to be more weather tonight and into tomorrow! If this continues we're going to have a climate that's attached to our region.

  • The globe has been cooling since 1998

  • A steam plasma does molecular nuclear fusion: the the safe way biology is powered. Massively exothermic with no plutonium.

  • Plants convert all the available carbon dioxide into new life on earth and excess oxygen gas. Oxygen is plant waste.

  • Hilarious

  • anyone who doubts that man made global warming is not happening please post a link to your peer reviewed source.

  • To me, it's NOT manmade, but GOD MADE. God, and i know not everyone believes----made us, and all life, to expel Methane Gas---i have heard that methane gas is a cause, one anyway of G. warming, so God must APPROVE, at least to a degree in G. warming. So PASS THE BEANO. Or, get a CORK, or---hold yoiur peace.

  • @swilsh55 "anyone who doubts that man made global warming is not happening"

Yep, you are right, it is not happening.

  • @jigglypiggly Well try saying that Jeremy Clarkson then.

  • @swilsh55 photosynthesis ensures that there has been no increase of carbon dioxide in the air says levels fell at the end of last ice age. Go get educated!

  • @MyJonJonify There's more CO2 being put into the atmosphere than there is being used during photosynthesis by plant life on earth. Also, we're cutting down an area of forest the size of the UK every few months, so there's going to be much less photosynthesis in the future.

  • Read about molecular nuclear fusion from regular water

  • Carbon dioxide has been static in the air for 200 years. Due to photosynthesis. Climate change is the latest PR by nuclear power and the stupid

  • @JonThm lol.

  • @whiteshark1212 Yes, LOL and the next thing we'll hear is that LAIGHING causes Global Warming, a some idiot/idiots will believe it LOL

  • @Peggycass Well did read somewhere or other no I'm only joking. I reckon talking or typing to You Tube or Face Book will soon be implicated in causing Global Warming.

  • Two little carbon dioxide in the air to affect the weather

  • Sheffield University are investigating how to do nuclear fusion from water, using a steam plasma. Power with no carbon dioxide or toxic plutonium

  • @JonThm Thorium reactors are a much better option

  • 100 leading American scientists say in the global climate has been cooling since 1998: 13 years ago. Harvard University says that free carbon dioxide in the air has not increased for 200 years due to photosynthesis

  • @JonThm Global warming is proven. Your denial does nothing except make you look like a retard, which I assume you are.

  • @Tactic11 100 leading American scientists have put on record that the world has been cooling since 1998. Harvard has observed that free carbon dioxide in the air has not changed for 200 years. Go get educated.

  • @JonThm It's a proven fact. Oh boy 100 scientists?

4x as many historians doubt that the Holocaust happened, than scientists believe global warming isn't happening.

It's funny you would tell me to get educated when you're completely wrong.

  • @Tactic11 I live in michigan, and I remember about 10 years ago, give or take, it was so cold one year, we really didn't have a summer. We had a summer, just not a real hot summer. That was fine with me, as I can't stand real hot, humid days. I remember really hot summers 20 years back, but for at least 10, it seems to be cooling. So, maybe I'm a retard------people have a right to their opinion---and facts are facts, Summers don't seem as hot, at least not in Mich. Hot, but seem to be cooler

  • @Peggycass One city, or one state is not statistically significant. Global averages on the other hand are statistically significant.

  • The global climate has been cooling since 1998. Carbon dioxide levels in the air has been static for 200 years, due to the effect of green plants which metabolise carbon dioxide

  • Global warming was fiction from nuclear power, and the natural weather has been cooling for 13 years.

  • @JonThm Yeah, and the only thing that says the climate has been warmer is that lying evidence. What evidence are you basing cooling on? The growing ice fields? The expanding glaciers? The reduction in global rainfall? The decrease in the severity of famines? The reduction in the numbers of severe Hurricanes?

Please tell me... what indicators you have that show global cooling? Because all the above indicators say we're fucked.

  • aGlobal warming was a joke for nuclear power. Haha dead

  • Lol I think that the couple in this video should be wearing Fox TV staff t-shirts ; )

  • I put this entire sketch as my Facebook status the other day. WIN.

  • I'd globally warm her.

  • Lightening converts regular water into heat-it does nuclear fusion.

  • Hilarious thanks but a really good point about those who ignorantly dismiss mmgw because local weather is cold ..includes the hilarious but ignoramus behaviour on Fox TV

  • @sorry, don't mean to be a smart ass, but i don't believe HIGHER and HIRE are heteronyms. To be honest, i wasn't sure what a heteronym wasa, looked it up, it said they are words SPELLED the same, pronounced differently, with different meanings. looked it up, showed examples of heteronyms. such as the dressing was wound tightly around the wound--a soldier had to desert his post in the desert, etc. Thanks for the education, I learned a new word

  • HIGHER some Scientists, or HIRE? i believe you mean HIRE, Just curious

  • A new study in the peer-reviewed science journal "Remote Sensing" has found that United Nations computer models may be incorrect in overstating the amount of global warming that will occur in the future. James M. Taylor says it would be wise for the media, elected officials and climate scientists to recognize the “huge discrepancy” between global warming predictors and NASA’s satellite data.

  • There is a quick simple solution to global warming. It is called Muon Catalysed Fusion. As worked on by Star Scientific. NO CO2. NO Greenhouse Gasses. NO Toxic Waste. The source is dueterium from the World's Oceans- virtually limitless. It is cheap to produce. WE NEED IT NOW. See the website - Star Scientic Limited, Blog - "The Big Picture by Andrew Horvath", Youtube video "In the Footsteps of Fusion"
  • Earth’s getting hotter and hotter each day………. Is she trying to impress Jupiter or some thing??

  • Plants have metabolised all mankind's carbon dioxide and sulphur dioxide to create more life on earth

  • Y'all are a bunch of babies, stop fighting there's no point in it.

The video was funny, which it was supposed to be.

Global warming has been proven to exist and that it's getting worse, you don't HAVE to believe in the science but it's there and it's true. If people wanna be ignorant about it, let them. No point in debating they won't change their mind. If you're gonna reply and start a fight, that's fine but don't expect me to reply, I'm not gonna waste my time.

  • @falloutpanicx, the so called science from ipcc has ever been released for peer review. So instead relying on non-science learn what real scientist have to say. Perhaps listening to Atmospheric physicist, MIT Professor of Meteorology and former IPCC lead author Richard S. Lindzen is a good start ... watch?v=uu9fprxnkEI

Also livingston & penn at US solar observatory () have predicted from observing magnetic strength of sunspots that another new Maunder Minimum will begin 2015. Rug Up

  • @falloutpanicx a lot of global warming is inevitable, has been going on almost from the beginning of time. God creared man and all living creatures to expel gas--methane gas is a big cause of global warming. so God must approve of it, or HE wouldn't have made us that way. So, the next time you get gassy, and it's human nature, do your part to help, GET A CORK, or shut up

  • @Peggycass as i said, i believe to a degree global warming is inevitable. I received an E-Mail about 2 months ago, misplacec it, but a noted scientist said that after a recent earthquake, it released so much CO2 into the atmosheree that it NEGATED ALL THE EFFORTS PEOPLE MADE, over i believe it said the last 5 YEARS. I will try to find the article and share it with you. i will do the best i can to protect tyhe EARTH, but realize that even with our best efforts, GLOBAL WARMING HAPPENS.

  • @falloutpanicx global warming, to some degree is inevitable. i'm not sure if you are a believer in god, but i say that god must approve, to some degree in global warming, as He created all living creatures, man and animals to expel Methane gas, which i have heard is a big cause of global warming. i have heard it's a big cause, and i have heard not so big. Either way, should we stop eating, breathing/? I will continue to eat, breathe, better than the altrnative., .

  • @Peggycass i am very new at computers. i got a message back from someone saying that they don't believe in GOD. i don't know if it was you, i misplaced the message i got. So forgive me if I wrote you again, don't want to be a pest

  • @falloutpanicx I received an E-Mail a few months ago, wished I saved it--a Scientist said that according to studies--there was a I beleive Volcano that erupted in , Peru I think--it released so much, I bnelieve it said CO2 or greenhouse gases into the atmosphere that it NEGATED all the efforts that people had done to decrease GLOBAL Warming for the past 5 YEARS. Not to say people should throw their arms up in the air, and say that nothing can be done, but use common sense

  • hehe, man made climate change is a load of bollocks x]

  • @Superxme212

Wow, you must be smart. I mean, forget the thousands of scientists who have studied the climate for years and come to the unavoidable conclusion that human activity is causing climate change! I'm sure that you, as a random YouTube commentator who's read a few Daily Mail scare stories, are much better informed!

That was sarcasm, by the way. Telling you you're an arrogant idiot.

  • @jimmyboyG485 Hurr hurr. Tad hypocrtical throwing "arrogant" around, aren't we. I don't care what these legions of unaoidably correct scients with their unavoidably correct theories say, science ain't always right, even less so when funded by politics. Climate science is shady enough already, tbh. But to me it's common sense: that a slight change in temperature would far more likely be caused by something pretty large, bright, up there in the sky and all.

  • @Superxme212

I actually can't believe how stupid you are. The science has been proven. For some stupid little cunt to have the audacity to sit there and just say "it's all the sun hurr durr" as if that's a shadow of a counter-argument toe the thousands of pages of evidence is mind-blowingly fucked up.

The only thing shady about climate change science is the denialist crap funded by Exxon and BP.

  • @jimmyboyG485 Daaamn, why so angry?

  • @Superxme212

Why the fuck do you think? Stupidity from people like you could well be what kills our civilization.

  • @jimmyboyG485 Ahahaha, you truly are not fighting the stereotype (: <3

  • @Superxme212

You are truly making less than no sense.

  • @jimmyboyG485 I'd have thought a denizen of such vast intellect and unfathomably logical reasoning such as your good self would at least be aware of the stereotypical view of those in their stance? I, obviously, am the pawn of big corpo and the government who is hell-bent on killing the world by not switching off my light. You, meanwhile, are the neo-marxist anti-globalisation, anti- capitalist eco warrior who is infinitely correct and hence allowed to spit fury at any who oppose that view.

  • @Superxme212

Well, I suppose this makes a change from me being called a pawn of big pharma.

I hate eco-warriors, Greenpeace and all those other hipster morons.

I believe in globalization and am not Marxist.

You are not trying to kill the world or anything like that. You are just stupid.

Switching off lights is hardly going to make a difference.

Nice stereotype fail. You pretty much described my antithesis.

  • @jimmyboyG485 Main emphasis was on the "infinitely correct / spit fury" part, tbh, the rest was a tad irrelevant (<3). But nonetheless, why be so hateful? It's only a theory. Live and let live. I'll let you continue believing in your theory so long as you'll let me disagree without flipping out at me. Deal? (:

  • @Superxme212

No, it's not a deal. There is no actual debate or grounds for denial, any more than you can 'debate' gravity or the roundness of the earth. And unlike those two examples, not believing in CC could well destroy our civilization.

I'm not going to stop this until a) you see truth or b) you stop replying.

  • @jimmyboyG485 Ehh actualllayy. Whilst you can't debate its existence, you can debate the cause of gravity since as of yet there is just the general theory of relativity which is just a theory, and only exists until it is disproved. Much like global warming, it does exist, but you can very easily debate the cause of it. Some say it's CO2 from mankind, some don't. Other than that I will bid you farewell (blocking you so I'm not tempted to reply) and I look forward to destroying civilisation (:

  • So, what are we supposed to do, quit eating? Or get a CORK? I have heard that Methane Gas is a cause, or one of the causes of Global Warming. I have heard it's a big cause, then I heard it's not. A lot of Global Warming may be inevitable. ??? So, my answer to people who go on and on, and eat like pigs, and toot ant toot asnd toot, is GET A CORK and shut up. We're all causes.

  • @Peggycass

Did you reply to the wrong person? I wasn't talking about eating habits or anything else.

  • @Peggycass Maybe I was responding bto the wrong person, I am very new at computers. Guess I need my computer glasses. I was simply putting my 2 cents in. I had heard that Methane Gas is a cause og Global Warming. I have heard that it's a big cause, then I hear it's not. I feel a lot is inevitable. Thanks

  • Brought to you by BP.

  • Threaten Rape if people don't agree with you? So many violent "joke" videos by the peaceful, anti-war, save the earth, pot smoking, global reality deniers. I watched a PSA with a man coming out of sewer drain to attack a man washing his car. Why so violent, can't you state your case peacefully?

  • Inconvenient truth, 55 degrees in Sacramento California!

  • Check this out:

    bangkokmac (dot) com/warming/warming (dot) html

  • Global warming is fiction from nuclear power

  • Belief in global warming is to require treatment

  • There is no solid evidence that the global warming from 1950 to 2000 was due to CO2. Instead, it was probably due to CFCs conspiring with cosmic rays. And from 1850 to 1950, the recorded CO2 level increased significantly because of the industrial revolution, while the global temperature kept nearly constant or only rose by about 0.1 C. Check out: Study shows CFCs, cosmic rays major culprits for global warming

  • jesus christ the fucking laughtrack

  • armstrong and miller, probably the best sketch show since the fast show.

  • haha.. good video

Global warming is all about taxing your breath until you die.

  • @btester1 Maybe they should tax people who are highly flatulent, as I have heard that Methane gas is a cause---I have heard that it's a big cause, then that it's not. Maybe tax people who raise cows, I have heard that they are a real big cause.

  • IF global warming was real, wouldnt MIAMI be under water by now? Or soon at least. Or getting there , or something! anything. I for one havent heard of a single beach front home in Miami going under water, let alone the city. Not even one inch of one home. Remember it was the warmist who said this was going to happen.

  • @PInk77W1 Sea level has been rising by a few millimeters per year. Stop listening to extremist propaganda and pay attention to the science.

  • @WaxItYourself a few mm per year equals what? so according to science how long does miami have at a few mm per year. so i am 50yrs old. that means in my life time how hi has the sea gone up? 100mm?

  • @PInk77W1 The rate of sea level rise has been increasing. To see how much it has gone up in your lifetime you'll have to find some online data which is fairly easy to do. The current rate is 2mm per year.

  • @WaxItYourself so when will miami be under the sea? the reason i ask is i see poster on AGW videos of cities under water.

  • @PInk77W1 Well given that the average height of Miami is 1.8m above sea level and the highest point is 12 meters above sea level You'e be looking at about 100 years for the majority of Miami to be flooded and the highest point to take 600 years at current sea level rise. however those estimates don't include the rising sea level rates or technological innovation to halt it.

  • @WaxItYourself however those estimates dont include the sea going down either... obama said the sea is already going down.. or something to that effect.

  • @PInk77W1 oh well then we better listen to obama as he is a high end climatologist eh?

  • @WaxItYourself obama knows everything, he has never run a candy store, but he knows everything

  • @PInk77W1 Find me a peer reviewed source that states sea level has been decreasing.

  • @WaxItYourself i never said the sea level has been decreasing.. what i implied was a 100yrs is a long time, and lots can change in 100yrs. Where i live the "scientist" said i a big storm was coming in one week. It was to be one for the record books... people were near panic... the day came and it didnt rain a drop.. if science cant predict a week away. what pray tell makes u think they can predict a 100yrs.?

  • @PInk77W1 you said, in a round about way, that Obama said the sea level has been decreasing. And you need to draw the distinction between weather and climate. Weather are points in time while climate deals with trends. Physics tells us that as we add more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere more longwave radiation will be retained thereby heating the planet. While there are other natural variables that can affect the climate the trend in temperatures has been positive due to an increasing GE.

  • @WaxItYourself i know about the weather and climate thing. y i need to draw a distinction i dont know. To me the 100yr trend is troubling to me. human history is littered with crazy predictions that come no where near the sky is falling scenario.. who will take responsibility a 100yrs from now if they are wrong? in 1960 doctors use to tell pregnant women to smoke!!! did they get in trouble? or the tobacco companies? i just dont like crazy predictions

  • @PInk77W1 It seems crazy to you because you do not understand. The planet is going to warm as the result of our emissions of greenhouse gases. As the planet warms other actions will take effect based on that warming climate. Hurricanes may get stronger, however due to increased wind sheer less will form. More rainfall will most likely occur in different areas of the world while desertification will occur in others. Etc...

  • @WaxItYourself u say i dont understand.... and then u say "may" "stronger" "less" "likely" ... it seems u and me both dont understand. u make me a denier with your own words.

  • @PInk77W1 Science does not work in absolutes. If you think it does then you don't know anything about science. The fact is that hurricane wind speeds are heightened by sea surface warming. The warmer the sea surface temperatures (SSTs) the higher the wind speeds. Of course upper level wind shear works against hurricane formation. Current thinking is that while less hurricanes will form, due to the increased wind shear, those that do form will be stronger. This is science. Learn it.

  • @WaxItYourself "science does not work in absolutes" dictionary says... science, a branch of knowledge dealing with facts and truths ...

  • @PInk77W1 the facts and truths are what science uses to come up with hypothesis which are then tested, measurements taken, data collected, and so on. The fact is the, as you increase greenhouse gas concentration, more energy will be trapped in the troposphere dependent on the amount of the particular gas present. This will create a warming trend as long as input remains relatively steady. What occurs as a result of that is studied and a better understanding is coming.

  • @PInk77W1 However that does not mean that everything scientists can find that will be affected by a warming atmosphere is false.

  • @WaxItYourself i never said it was false... what i am getting at is this... u say science comes up with hypothesis from facts. data collected and so on. I understand the facts being "science" the rest of it mite be science or it mite be opinion. Science is great, but as long as u have humans involved u have the chance for human error. I think it was scientific america magazine that said u would have to be crazy to think planes could fly... 3 months after the wright brothers flew their plane

  • @PInk77W1 Scientific hypothesis are built upon previously collected facts. Scientific American is a science magazine filled with articles. It has many opinionated topics and opinionated articles. Science journals are filled with peer reviewed articles that are the basis for scientific understanding of reality. sure there can be some things wrong but as we get further understanding we narrow the truth down. You are denying that truth.

  • @WaxItYourself i am not denying anything.... i just dont like all these things being told to us as fact. And six months later, oh well we learned some "new facts"... it happens with way too much regularity. Like i said science is awesome... i just dont like people using it as a club. All the IPCC emails come to mind

  • @PInk77W1 All the IPCC emails were taken out of context. Many investigations into those emails were found innocent. I believe there have been 6 or 7 of them so far. The reason that you are paying more attention to those emails than the science is because you are listening to media interpretation of it. Again, learn the science not some third party interpretation.

  • @WaxItYourself i have a sneaky feeling 100yrs from now when asked "hey whatever happened to AGW?" the answer will be, "your taking that AGW out of context."

  • @PInk77W1 The way you're feeling does not dictate reality or dictate physics or anything else dealing with science.

  • @WaxItYourself Absolutely true

  • @PInk77W1 Glad you agree :)

  • @WaxItYourself thanks for your help and patience. i have nothing but respect for science. like i said i just dont like it when it becomes a power grab, or bullying.

  • @PInk77W1 You're very welcome :) Just remember, instead of listening to other peoples interpretation of it look at the science and data yourself and come to your own conclusion through scientific journals and understanding. The ways of dealing with it are not the same as the reality behind it. Most arguments against global warming entail the ways of dealing with it and the politics behind it. Look past that and look to the science.

  • @PInk77W1 Only the media is presenting it that way; I've never heard any reason for it being a "power grab" that wasn't "it's not true, and politicians are using it to gain power!". Besides, given that it *is* a real problem, it would be worse if no politicians moved to address it. Why be upset about people trying to address AGW instead of the oil/gas/coal industries, which actively spend far more money and effort trying to misinform people?

  • @PInk77W1 You don't understand how science works. When science says "likely," it often means 99+%. Those words are used because it is *literally impossible* to say there's a 100% chance. Every single scientific study gives a p value for its various steps; that is, the probably that the same results could occur randomly (which is always > 0).

Opinions also do not survive in science. Some studies might be tainted by opinion, but peer review eliminates that bias.

  • @BenkaiDebussy so there has never been a false peer review?

  • @WaxItYourself those estimates dont include the sea going down. over 100yrs me thinks it mite

  • @WaxItYourself So if sea level rises 2mm per year then in 1000 years all the beaches we enjoy today will be under water. Many of the houses along the coast will wash away in 1000 years. In 1000 years, people will have to move their beach houses inland. Better we should live in poverty than rich people have to move their beach houses in 1000 years. In one million years, sea level will be 2000 meters higher than it is today. Only the mountains will be out of water!

  • @Skeptic121 I was wrong. This was 9 months ago when I was just learning about this stuff. Sea level is actually increasing at a rate of about 3.4mm per year. I don't know where I got 2mm from. But no, sea levels will continue rising as thermal expansion and glacial melt continues. However sea levels can only raise as much as the water, ice or water vapour that currently exists in the world. The most that will happen is the coastal cities and those areas under a few meters will be under water.

  • @WaxItYourself OK let me get my calculator. In 1000 years sea level will rise 3.4 meters. That's bad...NYC streets under water. Most costal cities flooded. Here is my strategy for dealing with global warming: wait 100 years and see what happens. Sea level should rise 0.34 meters or 34 centimeters. We should be able to handle that and then quickly kill off China and India if they won't cut their CO2. If sea levels do not rise, we can leave China and India alone.

  • @Skeptic121 Sea level rise is expected to increase. If you don't understand something why comment on it? Sea level rise in a warming atmosphere will occur regardless if you think it will or not. It is based on physics. Look up thermal expansion.

  • @WaxItYourself You need a better sarcasm detector. I am a global warming skeptic. I really do not want to kill off India or China even though they will not reduce their CO2 output. I think we are headed for another ice age and we need all the greenhouse gasses we can get in the atmosphere. We should drive SUVs and build new coal plants. I do my part: I had an M5 modified to go 195 mph, it got SIX mpg at that speed. We crashed it. Got out OK ...saving up for a new one!

  • @Skeptic121 Thats wonderful.
