I first learned that tune from an old fiddler called Ned McCrink when I was a very young child in the 1950's in Ireland. He called it the Heather Breeze and he played fiddle in the old style by tucking it below his shoulder and not under his chin. I guess he passed it on to me the way music was handed down before written music was invented and now we can pass it on over youtube. When my day is done someone somewhere will be listening to the heather breeze.
