Well, the thing is just that it doesn't make sense to discuss about stuff like "who's the Beatles' best songwriter". Each of them had a different style so just keep in mind they were/are all great!
Btw this video is just so w-o-n-d-e-r-f-u-l! <3 Go Paul :D
muy buena cancion, interpretado por george en este caso por paul, quien otro pudiera,un groso a otro groso,un recital unico, ojala hayan mas homenajes de este tipo.
To see Paul, Ringo, Dhani, and Eric all together celebrating the life of one of the most wonderful people in the world through music is truely amazing.
That is, of course, Jim Keltner on the drums alongside Ringo. Lovely rendition by Paul and all but Marc Mann on the slide makes this very special. Thank you. Marc.
wow @2:09 Ringo and the other drummer are practically in perfect sync! Love this song by George. But the best version in my opinion is on the Beatles anthology 3. It has perfect raw emotion. Paul did a really nice job on his song though.
Lovely song done great justice.....by so many of George's Friends. Also a tribute to my oldest & dearest friend of 40 yrs. who lost his battle with cancer today. All things must past....... indeed. Thank you for the upload. Much appreciated.
please dont get me wrong though, this was moving as all hell and nice of Clapton to put it together. But Clapton, have some respect and defer to Paul. If Paul McCartney is singing a George Harrison song, you would think he would be the one leading the band. Eric can stand in the back :)
@3chrds actually he IS standing in the back.. behind Paul anyway. and as you already seem to know, Clapton is the one who planned this concert and put the band together, so where's the problem?
Oh yeah, i know that George was close to Eric, for sure. I think his continuing friendship with Eric reaally showed George's patience, tolerance. and spirituality! Cuz Clapton is one stuck up dude. On the Crossroads concert dvd, Clapton HAD to sing a verse of Presence of the Lord. I know he wrote it, but if he's taking a verse away from Steve Winwood in that song, something's wrong with him! And not to mention the whole Pattie thing. Eric also seemed arrogant in the HBO George doc. sorry.
Never realized how great this song was until my father died. Always looking for life's meaning through song, I heard Paul singing this George Harrison song, and I cried like a baby. I love the Beatles. I love Paul and George. I love my father.
@Howiesings1 And you are much loved too. Parting is such a sorrow, but it's something we all must face. Our mortality can be overcome tho. Through our spirituality. Not religion. Spirituality. Many blessings to you.
George will allways have the last laugh..................mcarthny sold his soul,as john did.i bet if they are chillin...............george will be happy.
Well, this song WAS to weak for a Beatles album. Far behind Here Comes The Sun, Something or While My Guitar, and far behind My Sweet Lord or Give Me Love. Nevertheless this is a great performance of it.
Honestly, they are very good in the studio, and it's a hit and miss on what's good, and some that is remarkable, I'm just being honest about it, the girls in the sixties were desperate for something exciting and new, and they were it, they have some extremely good songs, and some that you've got to wonder about, like WTH?
I feel so sorry for all of you who didn't have the opportunity to be part of the 60s. I fell in love with the Beatles on Feb. '64 and George was always my guy. I can't listen or view the dvd without a big box of tissues. The last song kills me. Thank the Lord for this wonderful music.
I love Albert Lee. He just stands in the back playing his guitar and just smile throughout the whole concert. Would love to see him live some day. And I don't wouldn't say no to see Sir Paul once again.
Fantastic! The irony here is that Paul (and John) didn't feel this song was strong enough for the "Let It Be" album, or the "Abbey Road" album. George can be seen playing a snippet of this song in the "Let It Be" movie. A very underrated George song, as good as "Isn't It A Pity"
@MikesCreativeWorks Damn! What were Paul and John thinking, I'd rather have this song on Abbey Road than Maxwell's Silver Hammer, but that is just my opinion, but other than that, it could've been on the Let it Be album! This song beats almost 3/4 of songs on the Let it Be Album!
harrisons melodies are going straight into my heart......this is so touching, also because paul is singing his song, and dhani as the incarnation of george by his side, how beautiful to watch this here!!!
@NeyoProductions He does, if not quite as much as when he was younger. He captures the right vocal quality and the band does well. Dhani there? Priceless. Damn I like this. Ringo on drums; nice.
The Concert for George is amazing. Watched it again today since it is the 10th anniversary of Georges death. No one could have done his songs better than those who preformed that night. When Eric does Georges songs it's like George is with him and Paul does a great tribute to George in this song. I like that they didn't change then in any way shape or form.
This is what a tribute is supposed be: a gathering of folks with a true musical and personal connection to the one being honored, and not a bunch of people put together for the sake of ratings and whatnot.
This concert is just AWESOME, no words to describe it, and no words to describe George's life and work. You can see the feelings in that stage. I guess if the rest of the world could feel it too, we wouldn't have so much problems such as hunger, pain, and stupid wars. But I guess "It's not always going to be this grey"

Sunrise doesn't last all morning A cloudburst doesn't last all day Seems my love is up and has left you with no warning It's not always going to be this grey All things must pass All things must pass away Sunset doesn't last all evening A mind can blow those clouds away After all this, my love is up and must be leaving It's not always going to be this grey
Ironic that Paul is singing this song and now sings this in concert, but he and Lennon wouldn't let George record it with the Beatles because they deemed it not good enough.
CescoMotta- You are truly a piece of shit. See if you can muster the intellectual cajones to read how in the minority you are. Everyone who reads its commentary should respond and put this maggot in its place. The world is a lesser place without John and George, but the light of the universe will shine a little brighter when you are gone.

Ironic that Paul is singing this song and now sings this in concert, but he and Lennon wouldn't let George record it with the Beatles because they deemed it not good enough.

George wrote this song at 26 years old ...
