  • hmmm cant decide if this video with the song is serious or not >.>

  • Its just a little outdated with some slight errors. I dont think cmm161989 meant this for training purposes by any means. Before posting comments, you guys should read what the description of the video says. She admits that its out of date procedures. Also keep in mind that different techniques are used depending on level of training and who your certification organization is.

I think its funny how quick people are to interject when the level of their own training tends to be fairly low

  • shit song

  • Perhaps better just to accept this video as a poor kids thing and don't use at all. It is not really helpful if you want to be successful at the real thing. Good music tho.

    Good health from Scotland...

  • is this right or wrong im knew at this

  • @katz1424 parcially wrong you have to after you chack responsiveness, abc's,then you want to make sure there is no traume to the cervical spine(or any where around the spine DO NOT MOVE THE PATIEN AS CHECKI,seems kind of commpulcated, but just dont move the patient anywhere around the spine,i would ask people around her(if any there)to asked them how she passed out,if no one there just assume there is a injury(you never know if there is or not)and do the modifided jaw thrust, see other vids to do

  • i think shes lesbo

    jk jk jk jk

  • @DrPepper74719 Well we use Tap the shoulder, or feet, make some noise, like "hey hey are you okay?" as you tap the shoulder or feet or whatever, shaking isn't advised, in case of potential spinal injuries. To explain Dr peppers point without slamming you guys xD

  • you both have cute white socks! can i have your socks

  • why she is laughing.

  • Informative. Obviously a little goofy, but it helped me study for my test! :) Thanks guys!

  • LMAO

    1. compressions are way to fast my friend

    2. (most of ALL) you do not have to keep crawling from the side to the head of the patient to give ventilations. hahaha. omg. give ventilations from the SIDE!

    3. If this is for lifeguard training.... tilt the head to the side so she doesn't aspirate on water and she can spew it out as youre givin compressions.

not trying to be rude. Just informative. The only time you'd give ventilations from the head of the patient is with 2 person cpr.

  • so cute both of u

  • And the most important thing to remember with this very well done PERFECT video, is, IF an AED is available, AND you have no pulse, give 2 breaths and compressions as someone else is connecting the AED, then SHOCK right away. If you are alone, and have an AED, and the victim has no pulse, connect the AED, PLEASE, and SHOCK!!!! then 2 breaths and 1 cycle of compressions, THEN call 911, then start again with 2 breaths, then 5 cycles of compressions.

  • this is not correct process to check abc first check the patient if unconcious of concious before you continue the abc process

  • Unless you are dealing with a small teen or child, then it's 15 compressions. That is the only thing that changes. Remember, if the "child" is large treat as an adult and use 30 compressions. Good luck guys! Good job, keep up the good work and TRAIN TRAIN TRAIN>>>>

  • This how I was trained. check scene, check for conciousness, if no conciousness, check airway/breathing/puls, if no pulse, dont check for trauma like broken neck, because no pulse/breathing outranks paralysis, head/chin/neck tilt, 2 rescue breaths, 30 compressions. If alone, stop and call EMS, then continue 2 breaths/30 compressions/5 cycles. Dont stop unless you are fatigued or in immenent danger. Continue 5 cycles. Stop, reasses ABC's, start 5 new cycles if no pulse until EMS arrives....

  • Step 7 comes before checking the pulse, doesn't it?

  • people who say this is wrong it's not real and was made for a school project read the description good work girls.

  • 1:44 breast touching lol

  • if you dont break a rib your not doing it right ;D

  • The common mistakes that are made, so dont worry about them. I am aware that this was two years ago and if you are a training first aider or a trained first aider I wish you luck with that.

Well done, that was a very good attempt by the way. Please try not to be put off it people insult you for making the errors, we all make mistakes.

I'm going to shut up now by the way lol, Bye:)

  • Final comment: If this was an exam and I was an examiner (I am a professional First Aider), I would say that you would get 40% because of some of the errors made during your demonstration. I'm sure if you read my comments (of how I would do it) you will probably know where you went wrong.

I also made similar errors when I started First Aid, so know that you are not alone when it comes to making errors during FIrst Aid.

I listed the instructions so that you ( and viewers) would be able to see..

  • on the floor (sort of on its side) and ensure its not touching anything , just the floor.

    6. Next, gently tilt the head back to ensure the airway is open (while in the recovery position).

Never push the patient away from you when doing this (always towards).

  • The recovery position:

    1. Place the patients arm (that is nearest to you) over the persons head (fingers pointing away from you and the patient and palm up).

    2. Place the other arm on the cheek nearest to you (not plam on face), and keep hold of this hand.

    3. Place the foot of the leg (furthest away from you) flat on the floor (use this leg as a lever).

    4. Pull the leg carefully but gently towards you (while still holding the hand on the face).

    5. Next, place the leg (which you pulled) flat....

  • ...help arrive or patient regains consciousness.

    13. After 2 mins of a CPR cycle (30 compressions and 2 breaths), recheck signs of life (airway, breathing and circulation, like stated before).

If the person has a pulse but no breathing, give rescue breaths at a rate of 1 every 5 secs.

If the person is not breathing and has no pulse, continue CPR and rescue breathing like before.

If the person is breathing and has a pulse (but is still unconscious), place in the recovery position.....

  • To find the correct position, place your index finger next to the persons nipple (that is furthest away) and slide it to the middle of the chest. Then place the other hand in the postion of where you put you finger, place the hand (what helped find the position) over that hand and interlock them.

    9. Firmly push down on the chest and let the chest come back up again (give 30 compressions).

    10. Give another 2 rescue breaths (like before).

    11. Return to compressions (30).

    12. Repeat step 10 & 11...

  • ...falling, also feel for breath on your ear and listen to the sound of breathing (do this for up to 10 seconds).

    7. If not breathing, take a deep breath, place your lips over the patients lips and make a seal. Gently breathe out until the patients chest rises (if not, try to open the airway again and try another breath. Make sure to give 2 successful breaths at this stage!

    8. CPR (pulse checking is no longer a step in this). Ensure that the patient has no shirt or top on (strip the chest)......

  • 1. Check for scene safety.

    2. If safe, kneel down beside the patient.

    3. Place both hands on both shoulders and (gently) shake the person and shout: "HELLO HELLO, can you hear me!"

    4. If no response, call the emergency services (this method may vary from country to country).

    5. Open the airway: To do this gently place your left hand on the forhead and the first 3 fingers of the right hand under the jaw (on the bone).

    6. Place your ear over the patients mouth and look for chest rising and........

  • you do not shake the casualty pinch fingers above the clavical because if you were not on scene you dont know if there is a spinal injury or not

  • Damn, everything's wrong in this video.....

  • boo this is wrong, first, never attemt the head tilt chin lift until you have checked for signs of trauma, check for breathing then call ems I hope no one follows your advice.

  • @gibsongod123 actually, if they're unconciousness, then you're supposed to call EMS. They could be breathing with a stroke. You don't NOT call EMS just because they are breathing,

  • might wanna consider learning that all over again... and by the way everyone as of last weak there is no more head tilt jaw thrust because of spinal percussion lol stupid i know

  • it would be better if you remove the annoying music.

  • what is with the music ?

  • As a beach lifeguard i have to say this is a TERRIBLE example of how to do CPR:

How to check response BAD (what if they are deaf, deep sleep etc) always check BOTH sides with tap and shout

Opening the airway WRONG (head tilt chin lift/jaw thrust)

Getting EMS before checking breathing WRONG

    How to check breathing WRONG

Checking for pulse WRONG, (if no breathing then CPR needed)

Doing rescue breaths from head end (without pocket mask) WRONG

  • arent 2 breaths needed for ar (if it was ar)

  • AR is 1 breath every 5 seconds

  • @fastmango

You're completely right, except for the pocket mask. How many normal people carry a pocket mask?? I'm certified and I don't even carry one lol. If someone is dying that's not exactly a huge concern unless I can see some nasty herpes breakouts lol

Also, I was taught to do chest compressions before rescue breaths

  • I actually carry a pocket mask and gloves in my backpack all the time now, I've bumped into a surprising number of unconcious people around town. Also have a face shield that fits in the back of my wallet.

Of course not having one wouldn't stop me if there was a life on the line, but having talked to people who've performed CPR without a barrier, it's not a nice experience. The main thing that would stop me doing breaths would be blood in the mouth, and knowing that most casualties vomit!

  • And yes, start with chest compressions before breaths UNLESS:

    - child

    - infant

    - drowning

where you start with 5 breaths then 30:2

  • no you do one breath, and if it dosnt go in reposition head and blow again if it goes in start you 30 compressions and if the 2nd one dose not go in, do choking when unconcious to dislodge object

  • you can't do choking protocols while the patient is unconcious, you just continue with chest compressions. only proper clearance of the airway with a laryngoscope or an emergency laryngotomy will secure the airway.

  • thats what it is when a patient goes unconcious you do compressions FYI im a EMR

  • @first1responder 2 breaths 30 compressions (;

  • allways do rescuebreaths first the your compressions

  • Starting with 2 breaths WRONG, (5 with child, infant or drowning, otherwise get EMS/defib) Moving the arm during CPR WRONG

Moving round to perform breaths WRONG

Doing rescue breaths with no compressions WRONG

Rechecking ABCs WRONG (only do so if they show signs of life/breathing on their own)

If breathing and maintaining own airway, carry out a secondary survey (if trained)

    Recovery position WRONG

  • You totally moved the head wrong. You have obviously never heard of lift-up tilt-up.

  • what music a wanna get it

  • I wanna play too , heh heh heh

  • she i slooking the wrong way and your supposed to do the head tilt chin lift...lol i know that

  • you must first check Breathing cuz if there's no air coming the patient has 4 mins.. left of his life therefore we must first open breathing ways and after that check for the pulse i there's no pulse we make CPR.

  • Comment removed

  • mga ulul

  • pretty good, think you can also show how to rescue someone from a pool and doing the cpr as well

  • Compressions given don't neeed to have ventilations also because once chest compressions begin....the lungs re-expand and will eventually suck in air, which in turn procedures more circulation and brings more oxygen to the brain.

  • Have you heard the latest "Compression only without Rescue Breathing" in a certain period of time only due to the oXygen saturation"reservoir"still inside the victims body. Taking some time to adjust or reposition urself just to give rescue breathing without pinching the nose & will only cause delay of compressions liked the video showed. yeah yeah i know it's hard to perform in front of the camera, maybe she's good at it but probably consciousness affects her acting.Well good job eventually!!!

  • but on the other hand....it is better to perform CPR in many ways, correct or incorrect rather than NO CPR AT ALL!!!...specially to those who have the knowledge without practice. This is a wake up call, if you are in the middle of situation, be prepared, practice makes perfect...the rest is history!!!

  • 30:2 in two minutes, 5 cycles.get that!!!!

  • what d'heck u're doin'?relocating urself every time u give 2 breathe?awful!Checking for breathing takes only5secs,10secs-pulse checking,This presentation is"not"the2005 internatonal standard guidelines of AHA,ERC & ILCOR.Research 1st b4 confusing others ok?!Probably u should present CPR for Laypersons without pulse checking..just a sign of coughing, movement then start CPR 30:1 in 2 mins for 5cycles, NOT everyone knows how to check the pulse, bsides pulse checking suites for Health Care Providers.

  • and you dont have to check for a pulse because.....??? i would think that would be an important part

  • i dont get the fact that people always check if the persons breathing first but i thought they would check for a pulse first to see if the persons actually alive...thats what they do in the tv shows

  • haha yea thats sorta an important part i would think. like check the pulse and see if their heart is beating before you do anything else..

  • yeah totally cuz if the persons already dead and their heart isent beating then alot of that stuff aint even gonna help em

  • yea. i heard that CPR rarely works anyway. especially, the longer they have been unconscous, the worst. you could probbably like feel their chest to see if their heart is beating if you cant feel the pulse

  • thank you for posting this video to save people life.

  • 2,2,3.4 haha cant even count and since when was there 2 initial breaths..? compressions take place before the 2 breaths and u no longer need to check the persons pulse you just continue until the emergeny services arrive or the victim recovers. appart from that it was a good video

  • uh we can count. we r saying the number of the cycle first.... think before you comment

  • I know it is harder than it looks why do people always have to be skeptical i think it was a great vid...

    Thank you,

    Reptilian05

  • @cals92 cals92 is right. It's supposed to go check ABCs, two rescue breaths, THEN feel for pulse for 10 seconds. If no pulse, initiate CPR. Interesting fact: CPR only saves 3 in every hundreds' lives. I've administered a lot of CPR, and have yet to save someone's life. Don't believe all this movie horse shit; CPR saves rarely occur. Trust me, I'm a lifeguard.

  • Comment removed

  • @cals92 no your wrong first of all 1. Scene is safe? 2. Responsive or not 3. Call 911 5. Check airway - Head Tilt Chin Lift 6. 2 recovery breathe 7. 30 compressions 8. repeat until medical help comes. Concious Choking PERSON you give Hymplic remover UNcouncious choking person you give CPR and someone coughing and breathing you put on there side (Recovery Position) i just took cpr class k thanks, and you do shake the person to see if they are sleeping ^_^

  • cool, so all I have to do is say "breath, breath"

  • yeah simple shyt ! :P

  • hey am from asia ...and we follow the guidelinessss nothing change except the compression of 30:2 which before was 15:2 and all of us agrees......whereever you are....of course ways of dealing it is different from person to person but not the principless....get that!!

  • wow...

  • Welcome to the wireless age. Now we just have to say breath breath and we are done :)

  • Good job

  • I'm from Malaysia. Good effort.

However, I've seen CPR performed by Malaysian Red Crescent Society (MRCS) and Malaysia Emergency Medical Support Association (MEMSA). It's different than you performed. Please check around for updated version of CPR practice.

  • no offense but this is the american red cross way, and i'm pretty sure that it's more simple and more effective than the malasyian red crescent society...the only comment i have on this video is at approximately 2:00 in when you administer cpr, it shouldn't take that long to walk around the patron's body between the chest compressions and the rescue breathing...

  • C circulation you should try your best to start circulation to prevent shock and death and that's the main duty either by defribator drill or manual way " using you hands" injection of Adrenaline is good ..

    D DRUG IN HOSPITAL

    E EVALUATION AND ENVIRONMENT

  • I am Medical student in Yemen ,, they right way to do that is to follow the ABCDE steps

A air way you should make sure that there is object that may cause obstuction for the air ways first by making sure that tongue is in the right position .

B breathing u should help vicitm breathing either by live kiss or other method

  • so wrong, land marking takes all day, and you need to give 2 breaths after breathing assessment (if they are not breathing)

  • sorry but thats not right, the procedure goes like this, 1st check for danger to yourself and casualty, 2nd check for response, if no response call for help, 3rd open airway, 4th check for breathing for not more than 10sec, if not breathing call ambulance and 5th start compressions, after 30compressions at the rate of 100/min attempt two breaths.

We only give rescue breaths before chest compressions in case of drowning or if casualty is a child

  • well we are lifeguards so it is in the case of a drowning. thank you very much

  • @cmm161989 dont be a tit in comments thank you very much

  • @muzaz

You forgot to contact EMS. :) So cmm161989 is right.

  • yo i thought the person laying down was a guy

  • this video doesnt even make sence wth!!.. you didnt even do the breathin part take it off so children dunt see this and do it wrong if anything happens

  • step four ...glove up

  • the chick on the ground is totally knocked out, musta slipped her something in her drink

  • when was this vid taken? its out of date...its not a wrong procedure but the CPR procedure has been updated. Besides, the coompressions timing is wrong, its too fast, she's taking 12sec for 30 comp, the correct timing is 18 sec for 30 comp ie. 100comp per min... the normal breating rate for an adult.

  • Obviously taken before the update...

  • LMAO no there just stupid.. btw the proper amount of compressions are 15 for every 10 seconds. If you do 30 (UK way) there is not enough time for the heart to re-fill with blood so your just pushing all of the necessary amount of blood to the brain.

  • Heart and Stroke switched to 30 and 2 because it increases venous pressure and allows proper oxygenation of the brain and organs. with the 15 and 2 the pump was just getting primed and and then we were going into advanced procedures and not allowing the pump to prime properly. We've had a number of saves with the new compression ratio and cardiac drugs without even getting a shock off. The girls in the video did a good job.

  • You are perfectly right but im just going to add, the chest is a negitive pressure it sucks blood into the heart when you start pumping lots of air into the lungs they over expand pushing against the heart so it cant inflate with blood making it a positive pressure backing the blood out of the heart and hyperventilating PT (15-2) wrong (30-2) right

  • You almost cant go to fast actually. its all about generating blood pressure.

  • stupid lesbians

  • duh.. stupid... do it serioussly.. and breath breath..

  • yay that thought me something goo job

  • Booo!

  • this is exactly what i've learned in lifeguard training this season. good job.

  • What...the...hell..

  • I love the soundtrack!

  • dang she can do cpr on me. she's hot i'll let her give me mouth to mouth. lol

  • you guys suck! haha, jp, it was a good review because i need freshening up on my cpr.

    Danny =) good job.

  • it would of been better if the "breath breath" wasnt just words.. but actions...
