If they are on US soil, it means that they will be "presumed innocent," and unless the US government could prove their crimes "beyond a shadow of a doubt," they are free. A new Washington Post-ABC News poll shows that 53 percent of Americans said the United States should shutter the controversial facility in Cuba and find another way to deal with the prisoners there. But 42 percent of those polled, including 69 percent of Republicans, said terrorism suspects should remain at the prison. Most Democrats (68 percent) and independents (55 percent) said they would prefer another way to handle the detainees.

If you have poor schooling, I put it to you that it is because of poor parenting, because that is where learning and the love of it begins - in the home. That doesn't dropping your toddlers in front of the TV to keep them quiet, it means sitting with them and reading. This has to be done at a pre-school age so they have more confidence at school.

The fact that entering many schools in the US requires passing through airport-type security metal detectors to pick up guns and knives shows something is VERY wrong with the kids in America - especially after all the school shootings you guys seem to have because you INSIST on keeping your guns.

A handful of shootings in a nation of 304 million people, and now all American kids are psycho? Wrong. I went to school here. This is my home. I never had to pass through any metal detectors, and nobody ever shot the place up. School shootings are rare. As for keeping my gun, you're right. It is my right as an American citizen to be armed; we should be; especially with our new Pres, who is not the least bit interested in protecting our nation. I guess we'll just have to do it ourselves.

My Pakistani friend Nadia has not seen her mother for 20 years, since age 16, because her mother tried to slit her throat after she dated a white boy. Muslims in Europe refuse to assimilate. They would rather murder their children than mix with the culture.
Unfortunately, the liberalism of Europe has no mechanism by which to defend itself. The Chinese at least will not stand by and let Muslim clerics preach violence from their pulpits.

Right now you can attend a Catholic church in China. However, the government is able to choose the priest or bishop and censor what they say. I would like to see the same selection, censorship, and intimidation applied to Muslim clerics preaching violence and hate in democratic countries.

Is there an example which you could point out, because I haven't personally seen the Muslim leaders preaching such here, but then again most of the Muslims are in cities like Hongcouver.
One of the reasons no one will do anything I think is because they'll be seen as persecutionists, and white supremacists and I used to see that excuse often used by the Natives. US teachers are well paid and get summer off. If they had REAL skills, they could get another job in the summer.
The teacher's unions are obsessed with a system based solely on seniority where competence is irrelevant. Merit pay is anathema.
It is illegal for companies to engaged in price fixing. Labour should also be prevented. Unions should be banned. They are anti-competitive and destroy jobs.
Hourly GM workers are earning $78/hr including benefits. $31/hr is normal for US manufacturing.

If they are on US soil, it means that they will be "presumed innocent," and unless the US government could prove their crimes "beyond a shadow of a doubt," they are free. It would be harder to convict them in the USA than, say, France or most of Europe where they would be presumed guilty, and they would have to prove their innocence.

The laws of the Geneva Convention apply to ALL prisoners of war! You can't pick and choose whether a combatant of a country YOU'VE invaded is subject to the Convention or not! That's makes you a fascist war criminal.
Our government refused them because they're by now no doubt the Frankenstein's monsters YOU'VE created.
Most, real, free-thinking people find the entire premise of Guantanamo to be to completely abhorrent. It's about time America woke up to that.
