The VC may look really bad, but the 2d panel and flying dynamics (minus the ground handling) alone makes this a revolutionary step in the direction of the freeware community. The iFly design team worked really hard to make this aircraft so those who maybe don't have the money to buy PMDG can still get a taste of what flying this magnificent bird would actually be like. Learn to be more appreciative. After all, iFly didn't HAVE to release this as freeware.
i guess u really cant compare freeware and payware but the start up procedures in this vid is completely wrong!!! i suggest using PMDG's 747 normal procedures manual even for this freeware
I don't like the looks of this cockpit. I don't care if FSX didn't provide full functionality of the 747 cockpit, still the cockpit in FSX looks even way better than that.
yea but the torrent will not work. Most torrents always have missing files and the product won't work perfectly. Before I PURCHASED my PMDG747, I torrented it just to check it out if its worth it. Some buttons were not clickable and some buttons were missing. Might as well keep the iFly 747-400 and copy & paste the default 747-400 .cfg for better flying dynamics since the iFly flight dynamics are shit. Thats what i suggest to most ppl who can't afford PMDG 747. It's totally worth it.
i have a problem with the fmc, when i try to introduce a flight plan, i must pot reference airport, departure point, arrival point, etc. but when i introduce an airport the fmc says that there's not in data base, and in the index window, in NAV DATA doesn't appear AIRAC-0511, and in CO DATA doesn't appear DAF-0511, and thee date doesn't appear too. It's like if fmc is not linked with the navdata folder from iFLY. can anyone helpme please?
big difference: Ifly is free. PMDG is a good $70 Australian, making it slightly more expensive to buy than the Microsoft Flight Simulator it requires to run. That said PMDG is my favourite plane and I found Ifly to be slightly odd on occasion (such as it's use of trim, and the VNAV climb profile being a little odd to run.)
The monthly download cost is for AIRAC cycles from Navigraph.... which is the same thing you use for PMDG, LDS, PSS, and a multitude of other things. To call that a 'cost' of 'iFly' is a gross misrepresentation of facts.
Wonder what kind of system you would need for this plane at full graphics on fsx.
Im all for realism, but in the real plane, you usually need a co-pilot to help run through the checklist and procedures especially when you have to focus on flying.
Anyway, the ammount of effort put into this plane is huge and i say thanks to the hard work put into it.
...until the plane touches down, then the horizontal stabilizer rests to its default position. Did this problem happen to your Posky B744? Or is it just that there are some problem with the panel compatibility with other aircraft. I will appreciate some help!
Hey is this the standard start up procedure for flight sim or is this some sort of add on its just i have just bought flight sim 2004 and i was wonderin if you can look around the cockpit like that without any add ons
Yeah, just choose "Virtual Cockpit" as your view and you'll get there. This add-on is definitely much more detailed than on any default planes of FS2004, so this isn't any standard procedure until you get any add-ons. For better realism, it's highly recommended! :) (Btw, this add-on is freeware, just search for "iFly 747")
I have both flight sim 2004 century of flight and flight sim X (both versions 9 and 10) Is it just me or does anyone else find flight sim 2004 (9) better in workability and even some graphics than flight sim X (10) I mean in flight sim X you see cars moving but outside of that little nice addition of cars speeding by in flight sim X, I think 2004 was better in over all game simulation and performance..
I did merge this iFly panel with a POSKY 747 aircraft and the panel showed up corretly when I use the aircraft. However, after takeoff, when I engaged autopilot 'CMD L' the aircraft suddenly either it pitched up or down heavily. When I look at the aircraft from the 'Spot View' it appears that the horizontal stabilizer locked to its bottom position and literally jammed in place...
Nice. Kinda neat seeing the startup procedure for a 747. Would've been helpful if you did a recording calling out the checklist as you went through, though. But I still enjoyed it.
IFLY?!?! i cannot believe it, after the sucess wt ng series , is doin this shit?! Disgusting! especially the sound!

The IFLY company didn't spend much time on this plane. I suggest the PMDG 747-400 for anyone ou there interested.
