  • Bravo Maestro! Bravo!

  • Very well done, thank you for sharing.

  • really nice...have you ever heard it played more slowly? I like what you do here, but think it might possibly be even more extraordinary and effecting played more slowly (for example of tempo, not his arrangement necessarily, search on youtube Erik Satie - Gnossienne 1 (by arturm75). In any case, hella cool - and great channel - thanks

  • @susaninmaine You comment is relevant,

in fact, right, the original tempo for piano is more slowly.

  • Real good.

  • Hey, you play really well! And look good too!

I love Satie as it is but you make it sound very melancholic and sweet.

  • @itislulunobody many thanks to you !

  • May I say? You are a huge asset to YouTube ~ and your magnificent channel is an EL DORADO for anyone liking guitar ~ as well as for those who are learning to play the guitar!

  • @bpvdd Hey bonjour ami français !

    je suis de Paris.

  • music is such a great gift thanks for sharing your gift with us..

  • Ha! I had no idea the owner of this retro channel was such a young, startlingly handsome fellow! You should definitely upload more of your own interpretations! :) You play very well. Like the way you flex your hands between phrases.I adore Satie. Never seen a 10string guitar before. Looks Baroque.

  • @hymntonight what a kind comment ! =) Yes, I think I will upload more in the next days. (Maybe, " La Savane - Ballade Créole " by Louis-Moreau Gottschalk). I removed one string of the 10-string guitar. (9-string is sufficient for the moment).

  • Excellent.

  • Great job, bro. lovely piece! Peace

  • buenisimo

  • great playing and excellent feel for this satie piece.i enjoyed it dorian.

  • This is marvellous Dorian. Great viewing and listening.

Assured, more than proficient and not without a little charismatic flair!

When will we see your reworkings of Jean Michel Jarre on ukelele?

    I suspect it wouldn't prove beyond you.sir... ;-) A pleasure. Thanks.

  • @PerignonPop thanks sir .. :) By this time, I'm very interested by the works of Louis-Moreau Gottschalk, the famous new-orleans créole composer.

  • Why the 9 string? Is it open tuned to a key? What can the instrument do that a six string can't? Im curious.

  • @MrJemmyJoe Hello, because there's 3 added strings (and even 4 strings, when you play it with 10). When a six-string is tuned in EADGBE, you can add the following 'bass' strings : A - B - C - (and D if you want too).

  • Always liked Satie's work, many thanks for this.

  • It's interesting to note, if I'm not mistaken, that Satie was essentially eschewed by most of his contemporaries. However, one of the very few who early on recognized his genius was Stravinsky.

  • GREAT!

  • one of my favorites for many years...

  • @robfilmer I think the best piece by Erik Satie

  • What a weird guitar.

  • @ddbarnes11 This is a french 9 strings guitar.

  • @RagtimeDorianHenry cool, is that you or someone else playin?

  • very relaxing tune.

  • This is lovely. Great video, Dorian!

  • @grizzlyten Thanks to you !

  • Dorian, great video. This is one of those guitar players that shouldn't be missed. Thank you for the video, his guitar playing is excellent and easy to listen to. Good to see you posting again also!

  • @journeyer58 actually, it was composed for the piano by Erik Satie. I choose to play it with a french 9-strings guitar. Thanks !

  • @RagtimeDorianHenry Excuse me. Do you mean that's you playing? Fantastic!

  • @grizzlyten Yes I'm the man on this video :) !

  • well done

    i like it
