I got the same model and boy is it DC bias! And mine is dusty. I got it for $1.

I'm going to look into the preamplifier because

I can use it for a lot of stuff.

Classic looking, but of course DC bias. That is odd to have no Mic jack. You could use a mike hooked to a preamplifier to make it line-level for the recorder.

It sounds very DC bias with the hissy scratchy S. No microphone jack? Well it is an emerson.
