This dance style is called Flexin. it's what the Ringmasters were doin on americas best dance crew until they got voted off a couple of weeks ago. Except they were mostly Bone Breaking which is a part of Flexin. Flexin is basically broken down into Hat Tricks, Bone Breaking, Illusions, Connecting (Advanced tutting), and Creative Gliding. All of those are added to Bruk up dancing. That's what Flexin is. Some people pop instead of bruk up and do all of those things with it too

And props actually take away from creativity. Having one and calling it an "extension" is another good idea. I favor it. However...it requires less skill. People are impressed by moves, dancers are impress by moves and execution. Props take away from execution. Moves done with strictly body are far more impressive than prop tricks. Props take away the "how did he do that" that people love to experience. Or maybe it's just me. I don't know. You see where I'm coming from right?

This style is evolved from poppin but def not in the right direction. I only respect the creativity. Bring hat tricks and stuff to battles is for movies. Dancing is about what you can do with the weapons you were born with.

This didnt evolve from poppin, it evolved from Bruk up. And people are tired of seein the same old dance battles. Alot of people want to see something different. Creativity along with dancin is the type of entertainment the crowd in Brooklyn is lookin for. Every1 seen these plain dance competitions for B Boy and poppin and all of that stuff. In Battlefest you can use props, illusions, flexibility, and anything else, as an extension to the dancing. You can do whatever you want to with dancin here

That's just it though. There's no boundaries. Therefore there's no real control. It's innovative yes, but the idea only looks good on paper. The whole thing limits all those great dancers to being in that arena alone. And flexing evolved from bruk up yes. But gliding which seems to be one of the cores of the style comes from popping. Stylisticly, i thnk this style is 1 of the sickst shifts in the history of poppin. The main flaw I see is that some of the moves are so sick that the transitions are awkward cuz the kids are lining them up back to back.

Flexn started in the late 80s it was called bruk up, which was basically poppin with a jamaican rythm. Then it evolved to flexn. It started in Brooklyn,NY and is still big out there. We got structures in our dance like bone breakin, gliding, connecting,(advance tutting), finger connecting, and hat tricks. Turf came about 10 yrs later and the dancers alway dance and then drop to the floor every 1nce and a while. I even see them doin hat tricks, connectin, and bone breakin now. They bitting us.

Poppin and turfin came out around the same time. Niggaz been poppin in Oakland, California (where Turfin originated) since the early 80's. Oakland is full of swag and originality. Movement concepts of Turfin include body illusions, tut illusions, basic tuts, wav illusions, footwork... Turfin is one of dem styles thats hard to compete against (if u goin against somebody raw) becuz the style is basically meant to entertain...
