it wasn't only the Mayans said 2012, also the Chinesse , Hopi prophecy (native american) , even the web-bot which is a software made to predict stock markets was able to predict 911, and now is saying 2012 lol.

I just find funny how so many cultures around the world mention 2012, but seriously, I care less, to my point of view I could die tomorrow, that doesn't mean I'm gonna stop enjoying life today =)

If there is any drastic effect of what they call galactic alignment, it should be felt as early as now. The poles should be start moving by this very moment. I don't think everything would occur only during the exact galactic alignment, not all in one day.

Thats something else. Say the world does end. Millions, maybe billions, get to those ships. We leave the planet. Boom! Worlds gone. Where would we go? The Government hasn't even come up with ships that use light speed, so we'd just remain in our solar system until we all die of hunger.

Well.... it wont melt. Solar flares will strike the earth, therefore melting the crust (the inner core which is part liquid, part solid), making the earh collapse in itself. Thats how the ground manages to fall into the center of the earth. (Just some personal trivia :P)
