I am just now learning of the fire at PIR. I can't imagine why someone would do such a thing to a structure that has brought so much love into the lives of billions of people for so many years. From those of us who know what it's like to have an unreplacable iconic music structure in our community (Motown Records Museum), I wish you godspeed for the reconstruction to preserve the historic PIR & Cameo/Parkway.

One more thing now that I'm thinking about it. How come the city hasn't acknowledged PIR as a historical landmark? I got a serious problem with that.

One of my friends called me from down here in Charlotte, NC & asked me was I alright. I said yeah why. He said I guess you didn't PIR was set on fire. An instant lump was in my throat. Myself, being a Philly native, has nothing but fond memories of PIR. My friend, a DJ, constantly keeps your music in his sets. He told me his next trip to Philly was to visit PIR. On behalf of myself, DJ Justice, & the city of Charlotte, NC, our sincerest condolences on this situation.

The studio was untouched. The same can't be said for the rest of the floor. One half of the floor was completely devastated and we are assessing now what kind of damage we are really talking about. Huff and my offices were damaged slightly. Only due to the fire fighters having to enter the building through our windows did our offices sustain damage. Some personal items were out of place and recovered for the investigation. Will keep you posted on the arrest.
