I LOVE this Mozart piece. Its one of my top 10 favourites of Mozart music. I`m not a musician and know nothing about procedure. If anyone can answer some questions i`d be very greatful.
Why does Solti need his music pages turned every few seconds by a page turner?
Why does Barenboin keep looking at both pianos so much?
I must say the page turner is somewhat distracting because he is up and down so often.
This piece still gives me tingles every time i hear it.
mi piace...e come potrebbe non piacermi con questi quattro mostri sacri della musica: Mosart, Barenboim, Shiff e Solti. E' un signo starli ad ascoltare.Arch. Amedeo Cimma
I am overjoyed at the fact that this video is on youtube. I had no idea they recorded for video. This was the very first piano concerto I ever heard, and it was with these 3 muscians, but with the English Chamber Orchestra. Although this is a near flawless performance, I think the excitement that there is a live audience gets to the musicians especially Schiff who plays first, because they start to rush, and it never becomes quite stable. But they pull it off beautifully! :)

In the beginning, Barenboim looks a little confused like he doesn't know where he is.

@woahmcgee I noticed that just now, lol. It's like Solti did something that totally surprised him. No idea what. He was like 'what the hell??'

It's called ego... if Barenboim had half the imagination Solti did, he wouldn't be sitting there, unprofessionally fidgeting, in a diva snit.
