This video was done many years ago and at the time I was using a Rotoflex - this ran off a vaccuum cleaner. These days we teach our students using a Dremel but I personally use a Marathon N7 micromotor. You can find these quite reasonably priced on ebay.
Thank you so much for demonstrating this skill. I am very interested in creating egg art. My grandmother made hundreds of beautiful egg designs. She and I would work on them together, when I was a child.
I inherited her eggs along with many of the tools, materials, and plain eggs she collected. I have decided to create eggs again. I would appreciate any other ideas you would share.
@AndrewsMakeChannel in the video I am using a Rotoflex, which is powered by a vacuum cleaner. Not easily come by these days though, which is a shame as they were a good, relatively cheap unit. You can use a Dremel with a flexishaft attachment.
@Ravennthemad The egg used in the video is a goose egg. The same principle could be used on a chicken egg but we don't tend to use them for decorating as they tend to be a bit brittle to cut like this. However, they are good for scratch carving. A better alternative for decorating is to use duck eggs.
