To be honest, Jessica could have been Christina competition when they first came out. But the trouble is that Christina is an artist and Jessica is not. She dents to make generic pop music that only 15 year old girls like. She never grew artistically like Christina (Stripped/Bionic/Back to Basics) and that is why Christina is a more successful singer. Plus Jessica has some bad habits when she sings live which strains her voice, she needs vocal lessons.

Christina use scream and in most case it's showing off. At least Jessica doesn't need "grimaces" in her singing. Jessica's voice is much sweeter and she is way more beautiful woman. Anyway I respect them both cause they try to sing various musical genres (Pop, Rock, R'N'B, Blues, Soul, Jazz, Dance, Funk, Country etc)

Jessica needs some vocal lessons because she is ruining her voice and at times has lost her voice because of it. Also she sing very awkward, she needs to control her face expression when singing.

You really need to stop the "it was an intentional scream" defense, because many of her so-called "whistle register" attempts sound even WORSE than the "scream" in this performance. She just NEVER got it down pat. There are amateurs on this site who can do it better than her, even guys...so please...stop bragging about that aspect of her voice, becasuse it is by no means impressive. Neither is her belting past Eb5. She has an amazingly rich timbre...but it all goes to hell after Eb5.

yeah...christina's my girl, but you're definitely wrong there. she does have a better technique than jessica, but not a higher natural range. and christina's E5s aren't effortless, i actually do not like her tone on that notes at all, her voice thins and she has to practically scream on the top of her lungs for power. but E5 isn't high for jessica even if she struggles on it because of her breathing...but she can still go higher in chest voice.

You really need to stop the "it was an intentional scream" defense, because many of her so-called "whistle register" attempts sound even WORSE than the "scream" in this performance. She just NEVER got it down pat. There are amateurs on this site who can do it better than her, even guys...so please...stop bragging about that aspect of her voice, becasuse it is by no means impressive. Neither is her belting past Eb5. She has an amazingly rich timbre...but it all goes to hell after Eb5.

Christina Aguilera attempting to sing Jessica's "I Wanna Love You Forever" would be tantamount to her passing a kidney stone. Seriously. That song was made for a soprano. Christina's voice is placed in mezzo tessitura, which is why her greatest level of power and intonation rests in the A4-Eb5 range. Above that, her tone gets squeaky thin, and her cords are less flexible. She has a better TECHNIQUE than Jessica, but she doesn't have that upper range. That's a fact. Sorry if it's hard to swallow.

No offense, but you sound dumb as hell with this comment. Jessica has a FAR higher vocal placement than Christina naturally, which is reflected in her ability to reach MUCH higher notes in full chest voice. Christina can barely even get to an E5 in full chest, she's already starting to apply the mix, and they're anything BUT effortless...that's why they're thin, brittle, and COMPLETELY lack vibrato. She always sounds like she's gonna crack.

Jessica was as sick as a dog in this performance, but again imagine Christina attempting this song when she can't even handle the one little F5 at the bridge of "I Turn To You," or the chorus of "Hurt," which STAYS on C5?? I have followed Christina since 2000....I was a fan. and I agree with you that 'I Love You Porgy" was a much better vocal from her, because she stayed in her range (lower/mid register) and didn't try screeching out any notes that are too high for her. But the vast majority would disagree with us, and say that this is a better performance than "porgy."

no doubt the performance of jessica's song was one of the best songs that showcases her ability, and she is incredibily talented vocally, but christina's performance ' A Man's World' is a lengendary one. christina's voice is incomparable and in her own league. i'll have to say, christina has got my vote on this
