Egypt blocked Israeli access to the Sinai river which was a victory.The only problem is the fact that Egypt and Syria were fighting as a "Coalition" and Israel survived this two-front effort and won several victories.All an all,1973 war shattered the myth that Arabs can't fight in modern complex warfare.Egyptians did beat the crap out of Israelis UNTIL U.S intervened and Egypt had to go deep into Sinai under Soviet pressure.This was never a part of Egyptian plan.Reason=No air cover !

Lucky for the Egyptians they have peace with Israel now. If they decide to tear up the peace treaty as they are threatening, Israel should take back the Sinai and keep forever.
The Syrians are a joke. They had 11 to 1 odds and still couldn't win? You'd think they'd decide to live in peace, but that's expecting to much of hate filled arabs.
