I recommend using sixupdater to download and organize your mods - especially ACE. To any of you folks that are scared off of using mods it will make a it a whole lot easier - just READ the instructions and follow them.

Its very easy to install, just get SIX UPDATER and select the ACE mod from there and do a "Install or update,startgame".

From playing both maxed out, Arma 2 has better textures and models on the weapons and vehicles.

Battlefield 3's environments and animations look better, but again that's because it's being done on 1kmx1km, not 100kmx100km.

i've tried just about every button there is, and using the optics-button works only work on guns you carry. The other features in the mod work aswell.

Why would a sniper WANT tracer rounds? Tracers are meant to help aim machine guns when using suppressive fire so that they don't lose aim on their objective. Snipers want to remain hidden not get spotted. And tracers are also usually about every 5 shots or so with machine guns. M107 with tracers seems ignorant.

@The1RlyShadow What do you mean by "how your gun moves", if you mean it moving seperatly from body, thats called its "floatzone", its in the game options.

Just change the sliding bar to what suits you.

i found taht in the evening, if u lay in the tall grass, tanks cant see you even when you are close, so you can easily pop the commander when he peeks out

@brandini555 i usually carry the M107 or M109 and the tall grass (even it works) wont help after the first shot. The bang is so lound and theres so smoke that the best choice is to relocate. If im lucky im at 1000+ meters from the enemy. Tanks are like a BIG sniper rifle. I could carry the TAC50 SD but i still need that 1 shot kill.

Also in MP i play with grass off. Easy for the computer and, since theres no way to cut the grass, i can see better :)

try a SMAW in the grass, itll kill a T-90 if you hit it in the reat twice and you can carry about 4 round while stil allowing you to carry plenty of sniper rifle ammo

id rather carry more than be squashed under a tank, with all this windage and velocity crap, id prefer to carry a SMAW, they can reach at the ranges that i usually kill tanks at ( 500 to 1000 meters) without that much drop or wind effects, and it ROCKS at killing BMPs

@brandini555 indeed! SMAW's are awesome. No Doubt. Any AT guy should carry them. Unfortunately i'm not AT guy, but more of a Sniper guy. And Snipers do not carry SMAWS. also, you need 2 smaws to disable a T-90 sometimes. Its not silent or long range and due to the slow speed of the projectile at 1000 meters you cant kill a moving T-90. Dont get me wrong. SMAW's are great and I use them everytime I get the chance. But still, is anyone a sniper expert? I could use some tips for windage values. =)
