The hardest-to-watch beautiful movie I have ever seen. And yes, I miss having these deleted scenes on my USA dvd. This was an Oscar-worthy performance by Heath. And I wonder how many Academy members ever saw this movie.

I never knew until now, but apparently Casper and Candy both mean crack. Was that deliberate or what? :/ But anyway, is Yellow Jesus a drug slang referring to the yellow heroine that Heath was holding? I'm really bad with drug slangs, so someone please help me out here. loll

@Gitsie007 i agree, but then if is had, it woulda given away the foreshadowing of Casper's death. The impact that it had been deleted made the impact harder to deal with. Shock value.

I completely agree that Yellow Jesus, of all of them, should have been left in the movie. Not only does it show how strong his addiction was, but it shows how much stronger he was in that moment to let that bottle go. He honored his dead friend's last words to him...I don't recall him having anything more to do with the drugs after this scene.

Heath was an amazingly beautiful actor. His gift will live on, just as he will live on in our memories and in his daughter.

I agree. Yellow Jesus is a fantastic scene and it should have been left in the film. "Candy" is my favorite Heath Ledger film. I have seen it countless times. No matter how many times I watch it, I am moved and blown away by the performances, the direction, the shots and the content. Brilliant work!

Yellow Jesus shouldn't have been deleted...that shows how truley deep his addiction was. He was fighting right by Caspers dead body and fighting over the heroine that had just killed him

It is a movie about a young couple addicted to drugs. It doesn't glorify drug use by any means but there's something truly touching about the story. Heath has a way of bringing warmth, humanity and integrity to any character, no matter how bad that character's choices may seem... Some moments are kind of shocking but really funny as well... It's a truly touching and memorable movie - it's amongst my top 10 of all time...

I agree. It's such a powerful performance and I love that he could be all himself with his accent for once. Despite playing a character that would be seen as a loser, he was utterly endearing. One couldn't help but fall in love with any of the characters he played.
