For instance when your hurt or under pressuer you can hold, but you can`t other wise? So why would you hold other than when your under pressure or hurt. Froch has always been what we'd call a 'hitter' , full power at full extension on a hopefully static target. He's no dancer & not much of a tactition, but he does display discipline & heart. I'm happy that he shows a winning desire on an international stage even if he isn't as respected as some of the more talented fighters of the recent era.

Dirrel has a tendency to loose stamina in the second half of the fights. The same thing happend with Abraham, who had won that fight if that semi-puch when Dirrel was down didn't occure.
It's not ok to clinch but the repeated rabbit punches and dirty boxing tactics by Froch in no way warrant a point deduction. Thanks for the objective analysis.

@deepbg1 Where Froch is really vulnerable is on the inside. If Ward can get in there, Froch is screwed. On paper, Ward should win the fight by a margin although you never know how Froch is gonna come out and fight. It will be interesting to see the odds on both fighters. If the odds are overwhelmingly statcked against Froch then I may have a little bet on him after calculating the return. I'd agree with what you say on Froch needing to not absorb as much but I don't think he will ever change

Froch will need to force Ward to fight on the back foot and at a pace he is not comfortable with.Tthis will mean Ward dominating but Froch may be able to wear him down enough in the later rounds so as to be able to land that big right. Should be an interesting fight as Froch can adapt (and boy will he need to)...

I'm the uploader of this video and an avid boxing fan. I like all styles, boxers, punchers, box-punchers. But when this was aired I was stunned to see Froch (who is NEVER in a dull fight) to be hugged and wrestled 10-15 times a round. I could've made a 10.00 video of hugging, falling on the floor and complaining but it would have been as tedious as the fight itelf. In America the clinch game is seen more as a skill than an illegal move. Refs in America rarely, if not ever take a point. I myself hate fast fighters overclinching, they don't need to it takes away from a fight. I also hate how Refs in England allow, clinching for their home fighters...Ricky Hatton was the king of clinching and hitting in the clinch just before the ref stepped to break them up. I consider it one of his skills and it helped him reach the top. The clinch.

@TheARMAProductions,i ve seen Ward fight backing up in a couple of rounds against Sakio Bika,so i think Ward can handle himself with that, Ward also doesnt get tired like Taylor in the later rounds,Frosh need to stop getting hit soo many times though,cuz when heis ability to absorb punches wear out,he ll be getting Knocked out by every bum,i mean Glen Johnson should hit Frosh that many times.I believe Ward will win this fight easy.Frosh gets hit alot.

@deepbg1 Where Froch is really vulnerable is on the inside. If Ward can get in there, Froch is screwed. On paper, Ward should win the fight by a margin although you never know how Froch is gonna come out and fight. It will be interesting to see the odds on both fighters. If the odds are overwhelmingly statcked against Froch then I may have a little bet on him after calculating the return. I'd agree with what you say on Froch needing to not absorb as much but I don't think he will ever change

@deepbg1 Well this is all in the past now. Froch has a mountain to climb in Ward. I believe Froch's only chance is to exploit Wards only weakness which is pressure fighting. Froch will need to force Ward to fight on the back foot and at a pace he is not comfortable with.Tthis will mean Ward dominating but Froch may be able to wear him down enough in the later rounds so as to be able to land that big right. Should be an interesting fight as Froch can adapt (and boy will he need to)...

Froch had to challenge both Taylor and Glen on US soil whilst he had the belt. Haye fought away to get the WBA and is fighting Wlad on his home turf. Hatton had to fight on US soil etc

It's US fighters who stay in their backyards. I've just named you plenty of examples of our guys fighting away. Match that then I'll name you some more. When do u guys ever come to Europe to fight? Dirrell is the only recent example but that was only due to the S6 making him and Froch holding the belt at the time. Look at Ward lol. That guy constantly bangs on about his faith/God so a to gain favour with the US boxing community (as all of his fights are always in the US) LOL. That's shameful.

@deepbg1 bs. Froch has had to fight Kessler, Taylor, AA and now Glen on foriegn soil and is the only fighter who doesn't get to fight on his turf even when he's champ. Haye won the WBA fighting Valuev on Valuev's home soil etc. Now if you want to talk about a fighter fighting on home soil...let's look at Ward shall we? lol. some fighters like to fight and dirrell isnt one of them hes not going to stnad there adn let you beat on him. hes a very difficult/annoying style to fight thats why abraham kod him while he was down out of frustration. his gameplan in fights is to run and stink up fights and make it look like a date instead of a fight, but there is a way to combat this style time him when he tries to hug you, over whelm him with work rate like calazaghe did to hopkins, froch didnt do this and it showed

Dirrel landed 85% of the clean effective punches in this fight. But obviously his ring generealship wasn't that great. It was a close fight and i have no problem with Froch winning, hopefully they rematch!

i so dont agree with this video..i am british and i like both style of boxers..and with out any doubt dirrel won this fight..u can say dirrel was clinching but thats part of boxing..its not an illegal move..its jus the refs choice to break it up..how ever dirrel made froch look lik a dummy..makin him miss stupidly.... counterin with awesome back hands doubling it up..and he even stunned froch..froch kept hittin behind the head..end off the day froch got schooled. hes a great fighter bu not boxer

I'm the uploader of this video and an avid boxing fan. I like all styles, boxers, punchers, box-punchers. But when this was aired I was stunned to see Froch (who is NEVER in a dull fight) to be hugged and wrestled 10-15 times a round. I could've made a 10.00 video of hugging, falling on the floor and complaining but it would have been as tedious as the fight itelf. Fighters DIE in the ring trying to win, he was dying to get out the ring ..... !

@V44444 I hear what your saying, and agree with alot of your points its like dirrell was fighting to not lose rather than to win, but what it all boils down to is on every single category of the fight dirrell trumps froch. He landed the cleaner more effective punches, his defense was effective, his ring generalship often made froch look downright LOST in there, and even though punch stats arent always a good guage of how a fight went, the punch stats are startling in how much they favor dirrell

@V44444 Sorry but you are crazy, Dirrel hurt Froch, landed more punches and was more effective. You don't like clinching, well the ref took a point so Direrel was penalized for that. Froth landed about 5 clean punches. Direll got ROBED and every one knows it. Don't worry Andre Ward will handle this guy.

In America the clinch game is seen more as a skill than an illegal move. Refs in America rarely, if not ever take a point. I myself hate fast fighters overclinching, they don't need to it takes away from a fight. I also hate how Refs in England allow, clinching for their home fighters...Ricky Hatton was the king of clinching and hitting in the clinch just before the ref stepped to break them up. I consider it one of his skills and it helped him reach the top. The clinch.
