@TheRockClassicfan Fair enough. I personally love strats because they are so smooth and versatile. But there is something about the simplicity and tone of a tele that is very appealling.
@whatsitallabouthey it's all about what fits you personally, i think. That's why i'm an ESP guy, i'd take a 300$ ESP over a 1000$ fender simply because it fits what i do. of course, it all depends on the model, but thats my own opinion
Have played quite a few guitars, but always come back to the Telecaster. Have a 90's Mexican Tele, and it just has a ton of character to it sonically. Still my fave!
@ant1mag3 i like telecaster cause its more rigid, and you can get a stratish tone out of the neck pickup, but you cant really get a tele tone out of a strats bridge pickup. plus i think they look better and everybody has strats anyway, i try to be a little original, good luck!
I have the first telecaster it showed, i think it said the 2001 version. I love my telecaster to bits, best guitar i've owned and played. And the maple neck is so easy to play on :)
thats an awsome guitar my brother just bought 1 but he hates the new look so he tore off the hard shell so all there is,is wood and the pick gaurd and hes a tattoo artist and he tattooed that symbole thts in violins on it on the side looks awsome and sound awsome too
my 1994 telecaster is nice and heavy, just right, the play a bility is outsanding. the guitar has a bluesy twang to it, i bought her on eaby for 300.00 one year back, and i tell you it was the best guitar ive owned. no joke its nice.
I have a mex tele love it,,,although i did change pickups and string nut. put seymore duncan vintage pickups in and wow what a difference, stl-1b in bridge and the str-1 to match,,sounds like a tele costing $1000's more. My main guitar on stage is a humbucker but the more i play my tele I just can't put it down. good video.
I thought the first few bars were a piss take, an attempt at humour by playing really bad like Harry Chapin's "6 String Orchestra" but you warmed up and it wasn't too bad. Not that I'm any Steve Vai but you gotta call 'em as you see 'em. Am I right?
Nice axe though. Sounds cool.
I've got a MIM Tele but I replaced the pups with a pair of Brierley pickups.Quite an improvement although the stock pups where very good anyway.
We show some of the instruments taken apart so that those of you watching can compare and possibly confirm your own instruments are original and unmodified.
@nmssis If you were to take 7.5 inch circle and a 9.5 inch circle you would notice that the radius on each circle is different. For a given amount of width of a fretboard the given radius for the 9.5 inch would be flatter giving you the ability to have lower action and less problems with fretting out when you bend strings.
@Rick36561 btw, in you opinion...is it worth spending the extra for the American Standard vs the Mexican Standard? Also for the long haul, what aspects adds to the "collection" value?
@nmssis The Same Guitar basically. One is assembled in Mexico and one is Assembled in Arizona. The problem with these "Big Guy" Guitar Companies is that they have cheapened themselves to the point where the are havins Shit Guitars Built in such Places and Indonesia and India with the crappiest parts and Slapping the Fender name on them. If Leo Fender was Alive Now ,,,,Heads Would Roll
@nmssis A very good bet is to buy Japanese Built Fenders, Gibsons, Tokai, etc... The craftsmanship is 100 times better than anything Gibson or Fender Could ever Dream of and at a Fraction of the price.
I play metal, as well as everything else on my tele. I play a Line Six Spider II. People say they're shitty amps, but those people don't know how to get a good tone out of an amp. Besides, it was 85 dollars at the pawn shop, and i didn't have an amp yet :P
ive played guitar for almost 3 years now, and ive always play trash metal, hxc, and i wanna start playing pop punk will this do it well, or am i better of getting a start or sg
A tele is good for pop punk, but if you like catchy hooks, play ska instead! or try Choking Victim and Leftover Crack. it sure as hell ain't poppy, but i think you might enjoy it. Just don't play FOB and Blink.
The gain and the volume both have an effect on the sound/volume. Turning the gain all the way down leaves the drive channel a bit 'grittier' than the clean channel but doesn't make it silent. There is some loudness increase as the gain is turned up.
I'm not sure what your asking. Yes, the drive channel still plays when the gain is turned down on the Traynor YCV50. The drive channel has drive and volume control, the clean channel just a volume control. Then there is a master volume control. There is also a boost switch on the drive channel which I typically only use with single coils for soloing, once in awhile with humbuckers for a really thick sound.
This video jam is intended to highlight the Fender Standard Tele more so than the amplifier. In that regard, the tele is probably not the ideal choice for metal. The amp used is more of a classic rock sound, also not ideal for metal. It does work ok with pedals for other distorted tones, and it has an effects loops for uses with a modeler of other fx processor.
I found this useful as I'm considering buying one. Although advice for the future, most people know the layout and the under the hood thing but what we really want to see is how it sounds.
Sweet.

as much history as fenders have, my first guitar was a fender squier acoustic, that ruined my impression of fenders, i use ESPs now.

Actually connectionmaker, a lot of gibsons are chambered nowadays.

the les paul usually runs between cheap epiphones at 7 ibs. to gibson (not hollowed out junk) at 10 to 11 ibs.
