  • YOU'RE JUST THE KING OF HOT AND SPICY

  • the lady said: "im enjoying it for a long time in my mouth" i think i heard that last weekend with my gf! LOL!

  • please fix battle shark fin missing the first battle with xu peiong

  • @phrixil Why do you say that? Do yove a reason in the first place?

  • 6:21 CHUA LAM YOU BASTARD

  • Millefeuille.... Millefille is a thousand GIRLS LOL

  • 6:47 - chen kenichi vs. FINAL BOSS

  • I'm Dying too see at least once a Challanger win.

  • Truly incredible that a mainstream program can actively and shamelessly promote the termination of fins for something as tasteless as this "delicacies".

  • If the board of judges were Chinese or people eating Chinese food everyday they would choose the challenger

  • @chaseindie Why do you say that? I don't necessarily agree, and would like to know how you came to that conclusion.

  • I'll give you something firm to enjoy in your mouth

  • GAH. The only problem I have with this is that sometimes the iron chef gets more verbal negative response than the challenger, and yet, always wins!?!

  • if this was an anime that guy would turn evil for losing twice and attack chen in some way or rig or cheat hahahah

  • wow that chua lam must have something personal against chen

  • @Zero0Zero0Zero0 He didn't like a lot about Chen, and, in fact, later said that his style was completely incompatible with HK palates.

  • I really like the firm texture. I am enjoying for a long time in my mouth ---LMAO

  • Comment removed

  • you can't fuck with chen-san son!!!!

  • Yes she loves the hard texture long in her mouth.

  • LOL so random a fortune teller LOL

  • "Luxurious, sensitive, with a good body..."

If only I could receive the same praise as Chen's soup.

  • Chen Kenichi, stone cold like a motherfu*ker.

  • The actress wants Chen in bed.

  • who doesn't

  • well maybe they should have done blind tastings so that the taste testers are completely impartial

  • The MASTER Chef at the end who challenged said"For me I will do it myself..REAL CHINESE food I'll show you just that" sounded like Brotha BOLO in the Bruce Lee movies...I hope to catch that match because he was SERIOUS!!! GREAT SHOW AGAIN!!!! THE IRON CHEF

  • Martin Yan isn't even half the chef Chen Kenichi is.

  • Chua Lam got the ballssss

  • Chen won even though they tied?!

  • Well three people chose Chen as opposed to only one guy choosing the challenger. A tied score doesn't really matter since more than two judges chose the same chef.

  • World hunger is not caused by a lack of food. There are plenty of food in the world to feed everyone. People starve because of bad political infrastructure: civil wars & depots.

Example: North Koreans starve because their government spend the country's resources on weapons.

  • does anyone know which episode had the head chef that said that he would do it himself or what the ingredient was? I love this show. thx...

  • yeah. at 6:59. Anyone knows the name of that battle?

  • thats the lobster battle

  • Chua Lam is a conceded, pompous ungrateful little prick. I would be glowing with joy just to be at that table. Its too common of a dish? R u kidding? Get out of town u piece of shit!I can not believe he gave Chen a 15?!

  • I agree to a certain extent... Chua has tasted alot of different types of food so he is quite "kiam"(stingy) with his comments... However its kinda arrogant to say its not much of a surprise cos I can say I bet he has not ever spent so much on shark's fin ever...

  • Chua Lam is a chef too, you know. He's actually a really credible food critic, more credible than Asako Kishim so im sure he can say whatever the hell he wants considering he comes from a Chinese background.

  • Hehe... yes, i know, I come from a chinese background as well & I have seen his shows so I know him rather well...

  • hes just doing what he was hired to do...

  • Even though I like Chen-san, I felt that the challenger's food is more delicious than Chen's food. I am really drooling hahahaha...

I agree that Challenger should have won this match. I wanna eat Shark Fin hahahaha

  • agreed, it seems that the food that Chen cooks is tailored to the local Japanese palate. Chua Lam is one of the most if not is the most credible food critics in Hong Kong, and is a world renowed chef. I wouldnt doubt his assessment on true Chinese cuisine.

  • "It seems that the food that Chen cooks is tailored to the local Japanese palate."

Pìnzhenlou (Heichinrou in Chinese), too, caters to the Japanese palate. Chua Lam prefers traditional Chinese cuisine and doesn't care for fusion cuisine.

On the other hand, an Italian challenger once defeated one of the Japanese Iron Chefs with a 3-1 decision from three Japanese judges and one Italian judge. The Japanese judges voted for the Italian, while the Italian judge favored the Japanese Iron Chef.

  • That was Marco Molinari beating Masaharu Morimoto in a Porcini battle. It was an unfair ingredient but the Italian chef said that the porcini ramen made by Morimoto-san are the best dish he has tasted in Japan.

  • oh I have got to see this next battle!

  • my god I want to try all of those dishes!

  • Like I told someone else, the culinary critic and fortune teller are two different people.

  • Yea, like archo said, they are 2 different people, the fortune tell is Hosoki whereas the critic is Asako Kishi... Please dun mix them up...

  • why don't you listen to what she says instead of trying to pin down her occupation! The really important point, is that these people are not the same person!

or maybe 'THEY' just all look the same to you...

  • fortune teller and the culinary critic are 2 different lady

  • That was an awesome match up.

  • huaxian is on battle lobster(second)

  • So when is that battle that's advertised at the end?

  • Really people may believe he judges harsh but its all down to the basics of taste, Chua being from Hong Kong most likely enjoys the taste of classical dishes instead of the cross hybrid tastes of Japanese palate, however the same may go with the three Japan native judges.

People talking about hate against Japanese is just stupid because the chef is Japanese as well...

    Good Battle overall though.

  • I agree with you, it really depends on their palates, with shark fin, chen was being really unique with it, the challenge was really more classical. If you think Chua was being bias, same could be said about those other judges. So it's not racist or anything like that, plus he love japanese food. The man is a picky eater, if you hadn't seen those variety shows he's in, he can be picky as hell. Let's get back to food,Thx for the upload archo.

  • I don't mean to sound whiny- but I really don't like Chua Lam! It seems the the few times I have seen him, he judges Chen far more harshly then he does the competitor. I mean, 15/20? That's a giant margin... I prefer to see more impartial judging. Overall, a wonderful battle though!

  • I agree, Chua Lam is totally bias through the whole judge time.

  • i agree chua lam is an asshole

  • hes the only real critic out of them though and he's a famous chef too and has the most experience with chinese food. the challengers food mustve been much better technically but chens food was more appealing to the japanese.

  • Wow...Chua Lam gave Chen a 15..wow! I want to taste those dishes. Thanks Archo for uploading this episode. I can't wait for the next one.

  • chua lam usually makes very negative comments about the cuisine, so i was surprised to hear him making complimentary comments about the food.

    nice work as always archo.

  • chen finally defeated by the big boss

  • chualam is like too much. dont like him.

  • chua lam must of hate chen cause he has nothing nice to say about chen dishes when everyone else loves chens dishes. he gave the challenge the win when everyone else disagree with chua. i think regardless of how good chen dishes are, chua will give him a low score because of bias. when chen battle against Xie Huaxian, lam was showing his bias towards chen.

  • i think its also because of chualam is used to chinese cuisine and chen is serving chinese cuisine mixed with some japanese elements. to the judges it may seem special to them, but to chualam it has become something "hybrid". furthermore, there are some chinese who doesnt like japs [just my 2cents, not flamming], probably dats y he gave such low marks for chen's dishes.

  • alot of chinese is still anger at the japanese during WW2. japanese soilders torture and killed many chinese. one major incident in Nanking. japanese soildiers raped and murder girls as yound as 12 to ladies that are 70 years old, and then murder them. the japanese are not doing enough to address that issue. just like when they talk about ww2 in japan, then never mention pearl harbor in school.

  • correction, i think the japanese soilder raped girls younger then 12, i think they were young as 8 years old. havent read the book in a while. everyone should read that book, a true story. its called

" the rape of Nanking" by Iris Chang.

  • we should never bring up this topic. that's y i layed back when i posted my comments. we support chen because he has heavenly good culinary arts, not because he's a chinese. so whatever happened last time, its not for us to comment about. cheers, lets just get over it? *supports chen*!

  • i agree, it should only be about food. sorry to talk about such sensitive matters.

  • Chen is not Chinese. He is a Japanese chef who specializes in Szechuan cuisine.

  • "He is a Chinese of Japanese nationality and his formal name is Ken'ichi Azuma (東建一, Azuma Ken'ichi" extract from wikipedia

his parents are chinese immigrants and he born and grew up in Japan

  • of course hes chinese or should i say chiense blood. his parents moved to japanese from china

  • i love these "grudge" matches. as always, thanks for posting, archo

  • Me too! The feud between Morimoto and the Ohta Heaven & Earth Faction was my favorite. Club Mistral's matches with Sakai were awesome too. I love the names of these groups... they sound like a team of super-villians but it's just a bunch of chefs...

  • kandagawa's the best, they make him out to be such a scumbag

  • Not really. They make him out to be a Don, as if he was in some kind of cooking mafia. He won the battle between King of Iron Chef Sakai and himself in the 21st Century Battle, and redeemed himself from all past losses.

  • This was only a partial win, the score was tied at 71 each.

  • doesn't he lose when the boss challenges him?

  • which boss and which "he"?

  • CLIFFHANGER

  • i think the japanese love szechuan dishes. and chua-Lam from Hongkong just doesn't like the spicy taste at the very beginning of the show in 1995, and he just felt surprised when he knew the result of this battle from other japanese critics. something cantonese is his favorite.
