  • I have been looking for this record forever, could you please list the title and company. thanks so much Don

  • I believe this was the orchestra for the JFK inaguration.

  • @chike60 You've only scratched the surface - He also played for 2 Eisenhower inaugurals, LBJ's inaugural, twice for Nixon & finally for Jimmy Carter in 1976 - 7 balls in all! He was the king of dance orchestras, employing jazzmen never allowed to play jazz, yet imparting magic to the Lanin scores! His performance for heiress Barbara Hutton's debut ball in 1930 (at age 23!) made him a legend! Come check out my 750 playlists of the best music of the past century & lists for every year since 19001

  • I have some other albums by him,it's time i don't have much to transfer them.Be a little patient, springs and summers are very busy times for me.

  • I can't believe people could dance to this, I'm EXHAUSED just listening to it! I played sax for 8 years, 2 in a 'band' of this type in high school, but NEVER fo 9 minutes running! They must have needed a break after this!!! Thanks for an amazing post. A bud just hooked me up with Lester's music here, WOWWWWW! My channel is 700 playlists of the best music on earth - heavy focus on top notch orchestrations! Added this to my Big Band Favorites list. Wonder if these 3 Lanin brothers shared scores?

  • @chkjns Obrigado my friend. Gostei muito^!
