First you approach the bus then look for a circular button on the front of the bus - you then push the bus - the door will then open, slightly - then you enter the bus.
So since this is a 1998 and 1998 was the last year Greyhound purchased MC12s Im guessing the remaining MC12s are no longer on the Greyhound fleet Roster? If so that means the DL3s are the oldest units to the fleet. I myself like the DL3s. D4500s. X3-45s and D4505s of Greyhounds much better then the MC12 and the G Series.
Greyhound still runs MC-12's. The later MC-12 are run by Detroit S50 engine /B500 trans, and they still run them, they have all been painted the full white paint scheme. They phased out the 6V92T /HT740 MC-12.
Also some of the S50 MC-12 like this one are being sold because of their useful service life end. There are still plenty left. They will all be gone soon. The MC-8 left in 92, MC-9 left in 99, 102A3 (1986) left in 02-03 as did the Eagle 10/15, it's about that time for MC-12 and DL3's.
Unfortunate, because I miss a 6V92TA powered buses, Eagles, and non-wheelchair lift buses.
Greyhound keeps the driver shields to use on newer buses. Since I dont 100% think the manufacturer sells units with the shield already equipped. The company has to get them their selves. As far as MC12s. Does Greyhound still have any left or were they all phased out? I know many were replaced with Prevost X3-45s and I know Greyhound was suppose to get 70 MCIs this year. I dont know if they arrived yet or not.
It's an old Hound....MC-12's were made almost exclusively for them.

Did Greyhound take out the driver shields?
studpuppy69 1 year ago
Hello - the driver shields were removed before we took possession of them.
nwbus123 1 year ago
@studpuppy69 yes because the driver shield belongs to greyhound.
