as a nanny if i found out a nanny cam i would hand in my resignation with no period of notice. parents have the right to install cameras wherever in their homes but you shoud inform the person who works there about them. it violates your rights to privacy (not legally unfortunately) in your place of work. when you re alone you do thingsyou woudnt do knowing you re in a big brother house (fart,, lift your shirt to arrange your bra, pick your nose or have private conversations on your phone
unfortunately for those ''good nannies'' we parents have no choice anymore especially because of those nannys that do abuse our children... I would rather take the chance of having my nanny resign because i had a nanny cam then to not have one and never find out that my child has been beaten ...

Search for that video on this site, and I'll bet you would change your mind if it were your child who was kicked, thrown into a playpen, hit on the head with a ball and abused as this little boy was. The childs welfare is what's important.
I babysit alot and also have children of my own (ages 5-18). When hired I always suggest nanny cams. I know it seems strange for me to do that but I want them to know their children are in good hands. :)

@AutumnBreeze31007 I'd be offended if they didn't use nanny cams, really. Anything is worth knowing your child is safe. If you see the video posted online and you didn't consent to it, you can flag the video for copyright violation or something
I agree about the posting the video and laughing, but not about installing nanny cams. First, we don't know that this was a hidden camera. Second, put yourself in the parent's shoes. You have to leave the most important thing in your life with someone other than you. It's hard enough to be away from your child all day, and imagining the things the nanny could be doing are running through your head. I think a parent has a right to be distrustful.
I'm a mother myself, and I'm pretty sure she isn't laughing at the nanny. She's probably giggling at her kid dancing. I imagine she doesn't care what the nanny is doing, so long as shes not abusing her kids and being mean. Lol. And hey, you can't see her face anyway, so no harm. :]

That's a SMART thing to do. And this video is cute and endearing, and makes the nanny look like the kind of nanny I'd want with my child.
