  • Peter Gelb is an ego-ridden, arrogant jerk. The MET could do much better things without him. Renee is an old friend and a dear and lovely person. The rest of it is definitely down hill.

  • ms. fleming has a great sense of humor.

  • Who was the woman sitting next to James Levine?

  • All fair points. But let's not overlook the reporter, Amanda Gordon? Graciousness, wit and beauty. I hope she covers more of these things.

  • Thank you so much. I was quite shocked by the absolute superficiality of it all. With the exception of Barbra Walters' democratic diplomacy, Mr Gelb was ungraciously pompous about divas while profiting from the star's drawing power. Most people talked about themselves and not Renée Fleming's extraordinary talents. She seemed sad it was all over. In Europe she is given divine status and celebrated during prime time news as the voice and dramatic artist of the century. Ainsi va la vie.

  • Only the superficiality, because the reporter asked different questions. The guests just answered them accordingly.
