  • This video was very useful to me when I replaced the laser on my PS3. I unfortunately forgot to take out the Game that was in there. Luckily, it was just that the left arm had jumped a couple of teeth. That fixed, it started working like new. Thank you again for your informative video. Good work.

  • there is just a easyer way

  • i like turtles

  • Thanks for the help!

  • Is this an early model 80gb one? My 40gb phat's blu-ray drive is different from this one -

  • @soupdragon151 The unit in this video is a 40GB unit with the old drive. Yours has the new drive, like my new PS3 does.

  • sony made it cheaply so they can get more money out of us by taking it to get it fixed

  • on what part did u use the stabler

  • i don't know how to put back thees gray things . it jumped out and i didn't see anything . how do i put back thees gray things and those springs too .. i dont see or get anything

  • this dude was stoned when recorded this shit.

  • If anyone needs any info on fixing their ps3 send me a message- i do it for an extra job but can easily tell you how to fix your problem and long as your not clueless....if you've looked at all these dumb videos and cant figure it out send a message

  • @antigrav118 hey can u help me please??????

  • It jumped the track. Remove everything and take the screw off of the white round gear and remove the gear. It will jump back to the right position and then put back the white round gear and screw and put the drive back together.

  • i dont understand what you did :(( u insert the diskt in the first try but you ps3 doesn't start the game ( same as mine) so what do you did that is works at the second time??

  • I find your video funny in a "boy it this shit giving me a hard time" kind of way. Why do you call them smoke test? Is the DB drive supposed to catch fire?

  • @CoCoLo1199 I use "smoke test" because sometimes things go wrong (whether or not it's my fault is another video ;o) and the magic smoke is released from inside whatever I was working on.

  • my ps3 eats my disks then tells me to fuck off when i ask for my disk back

After this i left the room and climbed through my window as i tried to ninja it

Unfortunately it knocked me out and i nearly broke my neck

So finaly i went down to the local diy store and baught a gun

    it still wasnt scared

    but then it hit me!

i went back to the diy store and traded my gun for a screwdriver

as i returned to my home i started to unscrew my ps3

all of a sudden i saw my disk go flying! i shit myself dude

  • @PSNAPoundOfWeed sad dickhead that wasnt even funny go drown yourself in a pile of shit.....

  • lol i hate you sony xD me to

  • LMFAO i h8 u sony lol me to

  • By "this method" i mean the PS3 emergency eject also known as the "fan test".

I haven't opened my PS3, and dont plan to do it...

  • Fuck, my discs keeps getting stuck.. The eject motor can't push them out, i hear it trying to push the disc out and then miserably fails...

The only way i've found to eject it is by doing this method (which i dont want to use often, as it may literally f*ck my PS3 up!) or by leaning my PS3 a bit for it to exit. The games work fine, i just have a hard time each time i want to remove a disc! Why does this happen and how can i fix it? Help please, this sucks.. :(

    It's an 80GB FAT PS3 CECHL04 btw.

  • @slbdevil Sounds like something's not quite aligned right. For a quick rundown on what to check and how to align things, see my "PS3 revised emergency eject" video. For more details, I have other alignment and reassembly videos.

  • @junker15

Okay, thanks a lot for the quick response. I'll check that out. :)

  • @slbdevil I have the same problem but i have a 320GB SLIM PS3, only 2 weeks old! :(

  • @Capoeiraagia A while after i wrote that comment my PS3 started working, i moved it a little bit and i think that did the trick. I didn't even have to open it. The mechanism was stuck. Good luck with yours man! :)

  • @slbdevil But you moved your whole PS3? I'm gonna try it, thx man

  • to watch how to get a stuck disc out without voiding the warranty go to my youtube channel, click on uploaded vids, and scroll down to the bottom. the video is titled "how to get stuck discs out of your ps3/ps3 fan test"

  • I put my game disc inside the ps3 but spin, then stopped spinning, and/or doesn't read and played. I don't know what to do. Can you explain it more clearly?

  • yours looks different :(

  • kool i needed to know thiz

  • My god, what a boring ass video

  • @IpodNutz I'll make sure that my future ass video is more interesting. ;o)

  • I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY PS3 plz help its shooting discs it cod bo cutted my friends head XD

  • just do the fan test the disc will eject automaticly and for sure even when its stuck!

  • WHY DON'T YOU GO TO THE STORE AND FIX IT NOOB

  • easier way: make sure ur ps3 is off then keep your finger held on the eject button then switch it on at the back with youre finger still on (or plug in ps3 if you have a slim) when it turns on let go of eject then when you hear the fan turn on keep tapping the eject button

  • At 3 min your BluRay got stuck. You skipped how you fixed this problem. I am having the same problem. How did you fix it. The white arms wont open to drop the mag disc down to clamp the disc.

  • @C33L0W I didn't know it back when I made this video, but that is caused by the plastic top of the drive not being aligned right. See my "optical drive top" video for how to fix this.

  • i put my ps3 back together and now my game is stuck in there and the eject button is not workin... can somebody help me out with this??

  • witch ps3 was that was it the 60G or 80G ?

  • @bcbluecheese 40GB old fat PS3, CECHG01 (though the procedure is the same for the new fat PS3 as well)

  • Broke my 4th 60gb PS3, but I'm gonna get a replacement for £70 because there is no way I can afford a slim

  • ja ja gordo mocoso jugando a reparar el ps3, ja ja, dedos gordos

  • i striped my drive to replace the laser when i had a disc inserted, now its back together theres a white tag thatx stands upright stoping a disc going in. how can i reset it, ive got a late ps3 fat

  • WOOPS I BETTER PUT THAT GRAY THING BACK ON

  • @junker15 when you fixed ylod how long did the ps3 last, i fixed mine 2 times and it keeps cutting out after 2 weeks i think i will buy the slim,

  • @zimzum08lol At this point, I'd suggest buying the Slim too. I never had the YLOD problem, but from what I can gather, the fix is not only temporary, but the length of time it stays fixed depends on how much the console is used.

  • @zimzum08lol

before you go out and waste your money for a new ps3

try to get silicon-fluid and spray it on your cooling fans!!! i fixed mine 1 time and it still works after 1,5 year! :D

  • @thaGkillah too late i bought a slim.

  • lol wat a fail he thought he fixed it but its still broken lmao

  • YOU WATS SO FUNNY I DOWNLOADED JOE DANGER THE DEMO THEN MY EJECT BUTTON WAS FUCKED UP. SOON AS I DELETED IT MY EJECT BUTTON WORKED PERFECT.

  • what model is this? i have the original 80gb, and there's a metal case around this, so I can't get to it. any help?

  • @Shakcountant i have the same problem... i need help too

  • Hey Dude! Thank you for the video... i had the same problem... now it's fixed!!!!

  • @junker15 hi man i fixed yellow light of death but my discs cant go in the hard drive, can u help me

  • @zimzum08lol If nothing at all is happening, check the large data cable connecting the drive to the PS3 mainboard. If the drive runs like a disc is being inserted when you turn the system on, the disc sensor has a fault (the most common fault is the small wires break off inside the insulation, causing the sensor to no longer work).

  • You should take care of ur consoles more

  • @silversurfer94560 In my case, I did all I could reasonably do, and my console still broke (laser sudden death).

  • all the consoles are cheaply made. but the xbox is even worse

  • cheaply made? cheaply made?! fuck u for saying its cheaply made!

  • or you could have let sony fix it for u because u fucked up your ps3 really badly

  • Thanks for this junker15. Replaced my broken laser unit and after that the disc would not eject. With this video I found out that the small strips of metal were not on properly and this gives me back my working PS3. Thanks again.

  • 1 dont fuck with your ps3 just treat it like a ps2 no messing just playing and watching

  • @repulic5 I dunno... it's kinda hard to do that when the laser is dead. :o)

  • ive had my ps3 since they came out i bought it for $700 and its still in great fuckn condition so you did something wrong and fukd it up

  • Hello Sir, in my PS3 it wont suck in the disk plus the blue light won't come on any clues? it goes green to red continuosly

    Thank You,

    Marcelo J. Ramirez

  • GUYS READ: If u want your Games or disks out then turn off ps3 And hold eject while turning it back on hope it helps

  • cheap r u made xbox is cheap

  • Do you use your PS3 to play games? :P or would you be on some crazy servers that no one knows about lol.

  • K #1 Sony didn't make it cheaply so somethings wrong there

#2 Just buy a new xBox and get it over with cause it's way easier

  • @MrPlayahata123 I disagree about the quality of the PS3's optical drive. In my opinion, it's got the guts of an alcoholic. And coming from Sony, one of the inventors of the CD, is especially damning.

  • @junker15 Well I have the newer version of the PS3 with the sensor and Smaller console so mabey it was improved a little bit I don't know

  • @MrPlayahata123 XBOX GETS RRoD 80 PERCENT OF THE TIME PS3 GETS IT 2 PERCENT OF THE TIME YOU IDIOT YOUR STUPID

  • I broke my optical sensor wire and the PS3 wont accept discs at all. Is this from the optical sensor or something else?

  • @bo7450 There's probably a different issue. Especially if nothing happens when you push the disc in about halfway. (It should take it even if the disc sensor is broken.)

  • @junker15 I took it apart again to make sure the drive didn't think there was a disc in it and the gears would spin fine when I pressed the switch but when I put it back together and slide a disc inside it doesn't do anything again.

  • somehow i kinda feel like you have no idea what you are doing

  • and this is why i dont fuck with opening my systems, just leave them be!!!!

  • @StacKz0nDecK I usually void warranties, but the PS3 is an exception. If I hadn't lost the paperwork for this one, none of these videos would be here.

My new PS3 still has a couple years left on the warranty. Luckily, it's held up fine so far. :o)

  • @junker15 Oooh. i used to open things and fix stuff but its a big pain in the ass to me so i stopped doing it and i just leave stuff be. if something goes wrong im to the store and demanding my shit replaced, fixed or some shit cause im sick of systems malfunctioning.

  • ok if u need to get your disk out cos it has ylod, turn it off at the back hold down eject, turn it on whilst holding down eject and keep holding it, it will make a very loud noise for 1 minute max and ur disk wil come out :)

  • My ps3 won't eject cod and it doesn't show that there's even a game in the computer. It just does the beep like when nothings in there. Tried holding down the eject and press it about a million times, still nothing so I decided to open it up like a can of beans to get the game out. I've got a new ps3 coming but i'm still trying to fix the old one by watching a few youtube videos but nothing seems to be going to plan. Does anybody know what kind of problems I can be having with it?

  • i love how these fanboys are sucking microsoft's/sony's giant corperate cocks by savagely defending there beloved console...

  • @taterfrickintot I know. PS3 and xbox both suck. These things shouldn't be breaking down as much as they do.

  • My ps3 wont stop ejecting! it just ejcts ejects and ejects even if nothing is in there.

  • @soraalam1 Looks like you have a disc sensor that's bad. This presents itself as the transport running immediately after the PS3 is turned on if there's no disc inserted. It should eventually stop running, then you can put a disc in (but you have to push it in halfway before it starts running again).

  • @soraalam1 lol sry but thats the opposite of this video lol

  • hey man i did what u said in the revised emergency eject, i did all right, but now the driver doesnt accept any disk, its like doesnt respond, what i can do?do i need to reset the driver so it can accept others cds?Tnks and advance.

  • @jadirgun If it doesn't work at all, check to see that the grey power cable on the left side of the drive is securely connected. If everything is OK there, it might be a power supply or mainboard problem. (You can use a multimeter to check the voltage at the power connector if you have one.) I haven't run into these issues myself, so I'm guessing at this point.

  • I put in a disc that turned out to be unreadable :L also, my eject button is broken so i can just eject -_- .... will i have to do all thi to get it out? please answer, thanks.

  • @iiKYL3x Use my "revised emergency eject" video instead. This will go over how to get the disc out, how to reset the drive so a new disc can be accepted, and how to properly put the top of the drive back on so the discs won't jam.

  • if u go on the main screen and go over the game in the disc tray press triangle and it should come up somewhere EJECT and it should come out =D hope this helped u

  • dude same thing happen to me my ps3 got greedy and took my gta4

  • Hey when i fix my ps3 i use different things and i wonder can i get the proper tools...

  • huh what what happend i fell asleep

  • same here the way his talking makes me sleepy

  • thats the same thing is wrong with mine. . .Please Someone Tell Me What To Do . .HELP . .

  • Your best bet is to see my "revised emergency eject" video to quickly take care of the major cases for loader failure.

  • this is the most common problem that happens with ps3's

  • uhh my loader doesn't spring back like the two little arm things, how do i fix that?

  • This can probably be cured by seeing my "revised emergency eject" video (this is the fastest way). My "loader alignment" and "optical drive top" videos go into more detail.

  • I hate the PS3 Slim's disk drive mechanism. The fat PS3 was better

  • @sufy1000 the fat ps3 is better still

  • I'm having an issue with my blu ray drive. It turns on but I can't get it to take in a disc and, obviously, not read one. Any ideas?

  • thanks Junker15, this helped me to fix my ps3.. great vids,

  • thanks guys!

  • hey junker..my ps3 suddenly stop while playing. i ejected the cd game and put it in back. but then nothing is happening and the cd game is stuck inside the ps3. i tried to restart but the red light turn yellow and flashes red after that. i wanted to know what kind of problem it is before i send it to repair or do you think i can fix it myself? THANKS

  • That's the Yellow Light Of Death (YLOD). There are videos here on YouTube that show how to make repairs to the mainboard with a heat gun, but I suggest making sure you're confident you can do it before proceeding. It also requires a real heat gun (around $70) to work.

  • If you need a $70 heat gun, then why not pay Sony $70 more to fix it and get a warranty?

  • If Sony give you another year of warranty and you play your PS3 a lot, it's probably worth the $150 to do it. This assumes that my theory of the PS3 breaking the same way within a year is correct...

  • awesome

  • wow i finally fixed it (after 6 whole months!!! thanx to you

    thanks alot man much appriciated.

didnt think i would be able to pull it off but the video('s) are excellent

  • Comment removed

  • that happens to me

  • i am having trouble putting the disc in because it immediately stops it like somethings in the way.

  • If your PS3 isn't in warranty anymore and you can disassemble it, my "PS3 loader alignment" video may be of help. It sounds like the mechanism thinks there's still a disc inside.

  • I fucking hate it when a client comes in with a PS3 for a laser cleaning. I grind my teeth as I accept the console. My wife laughs every time she sees a PS3 come in too because of that troublesome piece of shit optical drive. Grrrrr

  • hey sup helpful video but how do i take off the cover like that so i can do that like yur doing?

  • For the main cover, you just take off one security T10 screw under the warranty sticker, then slide the faceplate down, then remove 7 #2 Philips screws from the top. (One is shorter than the rest - keep track of this one.) Then push a catch in right where you took the short screw out, and lift up towards the front.

For the drive, I just took the top metal cover off and put the drive back in so I could shoot the video.

  • Hey, I had a disk stuck in my drive, I took it out, then I found out those two stoppers at the front of the drive wont let disks in, then I put another disk in, and it wont eject it. PLEASE HELP!!!

  • hahahaha i hate you sony 3:29

  • 8====D

  • Good Job 8:19

  • Just writing to say thank you for the guide. My Blu Ray drive didn't work properly so I took it apart and cleaned the lens. I had trouble with the spring mechanisms after and it kept jamming. Your video saved my PS3! Keep up the good work! :)

  • wow this instrucinal video is so simple-if u cant tell, i was being scarcastic

  • i can't put any disc in my ps3, any advice? oh, i did take it apart and never took the disc receiver part..

  • how d u take it apart im really frustrated

  • To take the Blu-Ray drive apart, see my "PS3 Blu-Ray drive teardown" video.

  • my ps3 disk is stuck inside my ps3. it wont read or eject. forced eject, nothing... i dont want to open it.. any advice

  • If you are unable to eject the disc for any reason and you don't wish to open the PS3 yourself, it's stuck until a service center can open the PS3 and remove it. Sorry...

  • ok thanks anyways. bugs the crap out of me its barly a year over old and its malfunctioning...

  • hey i had the same prob wit an old ps1 game..all i did was unfold a paper clip nd swipe it through the right side of the ps3 "mouth",were it takes in the disc, nd it felt like i unhooked sumthin nd then i hit eject nd it came out, so if u still havent fixed it try this...doin this could probly damage ur ps3 mine is fine but id say do this at ur own risk

  • it looks lik a record player

  • hey, i need to get my copy of GTA ouof my dead ps3, i got YLOD so i need help, how do i get it out without voiding my warranty?

  • Unfortunately, as I understand the Yellow Light of Death, the machine won't stay powered up long enough to enable you to eject the disc. And there doesn't appear to be any manual emergency eject on these slot-loading drives.

Without voiding the warranty, the disc is stuck until the machine can be revived. Sorry... :o(

  • damn! thnx anyways
