  • thank you so much ... tslam edaki ana f3ln kont bdawar 3liha :)

  • luv it u have more videos?

  • Looks delicious will definitely attempt to make.

  • hi....nice recipe....can we omit egg in this recipe?

  • I love your accent lol :)

  • The song's lyric stimulates my appetite. "Basbusah, by samn (purified butter, sugar, and honey". Nice song with delightful and nostalgic theme, unlike most of audio-trashes (or junks) that so called "songs" which lack harmony, sublime, and creativity, most of them about love and sensualities.

  • What I can use instead of almond extract coz all kinds of almond extract have alcohol in it nd vanilla extract also have alcohol so can I use rose instead of almond extract

  • hi pls what is the name of the song?

  • The recipe seems gorgeous mashAllah but Can we store this and If so? How long for? does the eyrup have to go, does it taste good without it... X

  • Aww:)) you'd be great on Foodnet work!!

  • WERE CAN I FINE SEMOLINA FLOUR?? I HAVW NEVER DONE THIS BEFORE JUST STARDED TO SEE ALIA,S VIDEOS AND THE LOOK AMAIZING I AM VERY EXIDED TO DO ALL HER RECEPIS. THANKS ALIA

  • my wife refuses to cook me basbousa now i shall show her the video and we both be happy.I eat basbousa and she cooks clean and does the ironing

  • Hi, So if you don't want to add Coconut you will add more semolina flour?

  • my older sis made this and i didnt expect it to be soo nice!

  • thinks alot alot sweety your basboussa its really really nice i live in germnay and i try to have the same test from basboussa from egypt i never have it but now your bassbossa its really the same waht i eat in egypt thinks alot for that we love we love you really fathy

  • Can 'basboussa' be made eggless?

  • 1:45 <--- The hand gesture of all Arabs! Gotta LOVE it for including it in this recipe !

  • It's Basbouusa. It KISSES you when you eat it.

  • PLZZZ SUBTITLE UR INGREDIENTS INTO SPANISH :D

  • Hi,Allia can i omit the coconut and make this recipe without the it?

  • @FaadumoArdo yes you can. I would recommend to google for 'basboussa' recipes you'll find plenty without coconut. This one is particularly for coconut, so if you omit it, you'll have to replace it with the semolina.

  • @cookingwithalia you know, I did the cake 2 times. One exactly as you did it, with coconut and the other time I didn't have any coconut so I added a little more flour and some walnuts. But it came out so hard, not fluffy. I think the coconut is the best.

  • @cookingwithalia can you plz write the measurements here so i can take it down.

  • ThanQ I have been looking for this for ages!xxx

  • is good.but why the evil music?

  • this luks like a delicious sweet, bt is it ok if i leav out the rose water and almond extract, coz i dont like rose flavour and dont hav almond extract, will it still b taste good? thanku

  • @kawaietbelle It will still taste good, but not the best. It might lack flavour, so it might just taste like bread and sugar. Why not substitute a teaspoon of vanilla extract? It might give a cookie type flavor.

  • I've been itching to make this cake for a while now and I finally did it today. The flavors are amazing!

The almond extract, coconut flakes and the rose water go really well together creating a very unique taste and aroma.

FYI to those who haven't made it yet....let it crisp up a bit on top, bake it till it really is golden brown. The browning brings out a very good taste that goes so well with the very moist and aromatic middle.

Thank you alia for such humble simple delicious recipe!

  • Lovely Alia, truly yummy! It was so simple to make. You explained the recipe well, step by step.

You dedicated this recipe to the Egyptians. You are a kind hearted person - always thinking of other people.

  • i just finished making this

    and its delicious!

  • were can u get semolina flour

  • Very Thoughtful of you to do this for the people of Egypt! I'm Algerian but i'm still touched by the fact that people everywhere can acknowledge right from wrong and dedicate a 5 minute video to such strong willed people! Thank You! I love you even more now!!

  • Your always excellent presentation has become even better!

I hope that you continue to use your new format, as it is very easy to follow.

  • you are so clean in the kitchen =D i am all messy and the flour and dishes would be just everywhere hihi

  • Gud job Alia, I really enjoy Ur Videos. And this Basbousa seems so yummy I will try this Insha Allah. Thank U.

  • I made this recipe and it turned out wonderful. It is lighter than traditional Egyptien basbousa. I would also like to suggest that you have a list of ingredients so that we don't have to continually go back to the beginning to figure that out. I love all of your recipes and so do my husband and three daughters. Thank you so much Alia. Salaamat to you and your family.

  • but in original basbousa you don't add flour right ?

    just semolina .

    :)

  • My favorite dessert EVER :D

    thanks Alia

  • I made it! is yummy! just one suggestion please post a handy list of the ingredients... So we can avoid going back and forward the video checking the ingredients. Other than that great! =)

  • good work but one thing to add, in egypy we do basbousa with yougert not milk and the cold surp should add right after we take it out from oven. last thing egyptain basbousa is kinda thin some people don't even add bking powder

  • yes, very sweet dedication, and I luv the music

  • mercii !!!

  • Thank you that was nice! I want to learn more dessert recipes. I've learned a lot of nice recipes from your channel. Thanks again Salam

  • that looks so yummy!thank you for all your wonderful recipes you share!i hope that the egyptian people find a way to work out their political differences there peacefully~

  • Sorry how do you spell the semolina thing?

  • @nimarocks1

    semolina flour :-)

  • It is so kind of you to think about that, may god bless all people of Egypt, Tunis, Algeria and all Muslims.

  • Merci Alia, un grand hommage au peuple égyptien ;-)

  • Thank you for doing this for the people of Egypt.......loved the music.......this looks very good, shall try it ...../s

  • Going to try this it looks so easy and very good! MashaAllah

  • What is the song playing? Love the dedication. Very good of you mashallah

  • @sandinotheturtle90

the song is called 'basbousa' !

  • Nice, I just bought some Ziyad brand rose water and was wondering what I was going to do with it. I know it's probably rose flavored water, but do you think it would work?

  • @CaptainGratiot

I suspect rose water and rose flavored water (I assume you can just drink it like water) are the same thing. so you should be fine :-)

  • I had similar basbousa made by locals here, love it!!!

  • since i don't have almond extract at this time, can I use vanilla extract instead or would that make it taste funny?

  • @Alabamagirl86

vanilla extract should be fine :-)

  • thats so thoughtful of you to do this for the people of egypt :)

  • 2nd!
