  • blizzaks+350z= fun in the snow, we don't ever quit, who needs an extra car when you have a well balanced car and a monster behind the wheel ;-)

  • 1) throw on winter tires.

    2) don't floor it when you start off... -_-

    3) drive slower.

    4) break earlier

    5) if you live where it snows a shit load, invest in AWD or 4WD... -_-

  • fuck all seasons they suck in winter and summer lol get a good pair of winter tires and rain tires for the summer

  • @TJDeadkid not necessarily, ive driven many winters on just all seasons on both of my cars, and it worked just fine. granted there were a few spots where winter tires would have helped me stop quicker, but it all depends on the driver. all seasons really arent that bad, and mine work just fine in our -40degreeC weather lol.

  • All season tires should not be used. The rubbermix is too soft for the summer and too hard for the winter. Even the worst (new) wintertires are better than all season tires.

  • omg my sunfire has ABS and its a nightmare as soon as theres snow, it just prevents any braking and i have to pull the handbrake.

the trick is to avoid activating ABS if you want to keep your braking capabilities over 0%... otherwise the ABS is very good on asphalt

  • "all seaon" tires are 3 seaon tires. there is a reason why they build SNOW tires. And there is a reason why they build Subarus.....THEY ARE THE BEST! ;-)

  • BTW, that Subaru is All-Wheel drive. Not four-wheel drive. Dx

  • I wasn't paying attention but then I seen the STi logo behind your head. I got all excited. lol

  • As I watch this video I notice the background looks identical to the Palatine IL parking garage in down town Palatine. Yeah I have a Pontiac G8 GT and driving in the snow is fun if you know what your doing.

  • Here in Québec, four season tires are basically illegal in winter because they didn't do a good enough job and there were many accidents. Also, I own a car with traction control and I always turn it off right away when getting in the car. Winter is the time drivers need to be alert, not depending on a computer to save your life. I have had no tickets and no accidents in my life.

  • "all season" tires do suck. My tC has them and they are horrible in the rain and the snow.

  • I'ts cheaper to get winter tires on rims than to get into an accident and wreck your vehicle.

  • Is this guy a retart? Can't even talk right

  • @flanker271 says the guy who cant spell right

  • There has been winter driving technology for ages, it's located between the steering wheel and the seat. Learn to drive people.

  • There is no such thing as "all season tires" that's just a stupid thing that people are used to saying...if u don't believe me go document u'rself at a tire manufacturer and see for yourself.

  • traction control is useless in the snow, shut it off every time before you get stuck on a hill

  • daam NISSAN 350 Z

  • Subaru (L)

  • All season tires are not good for COLD temperatures... -15...-25...you are a fool to drive with them in COLD temperatures.

Winter tires are the LAW in many areas of world.. Stop shorter, stable etc..

  • right , im from slovakia , middle europe , and here the winter tires are law:)

  • all seasons tires sucks in snow

  • had to burp 1:06

  • LOL >> nice of u in noticing that.. fail :P

  • make sure that u have proper winter tyres below 7'C. I saw couple of tests and all season tyres just suck. They r not good in the summer and even worse during winter. Peace

  • get a car with ESP and TC

  • you make your anti lock brakes by just pumping the brakes with foot

  • @sludgeguts maybe because you're the reincarnation of jesus christ?

  • THE major problem with all this tech is that the morons who can afford these high-end cars believe they can drive just as they do in the summer and that ABS, traction control, stability etc will all prevent accidents - so not true. Just because you have 4 powered wheels doesn't mean you cannot lock all 4 wheels. Also, 4 powered wheels will not pull you out of a skid at too high a speed for the road conditions.

I wonder how I've managed all these years without all this pampering?

  • In Canada, there are no such thing as all-season tires. There is in Florida, just like they have all-season footwear there- sandals. Try sandals as all season footwear in Canada, you lose a foot. A nice pair of studless snow tires are a VERY important investment if you live in a snowy area, or anywhere in Canada really.

  • @987DanMan987 Please do your research before saying your piece, and please dont speak for all of Canada, I'm not sure where you're from, but I'm from New Brunswick, Canada, and we have all season tires, most places in the world that have multiple diverse seasons, such as Canada, America, and many European places, have all season tires.

You just have to look, it should not be hard to find (Canadian Tire or many aftermarket shops)

    You've now been properly informed.

  • evilperspective506, that's not what I meant at all. Of course you can BUY "all season tires" everywhere in Canada. My meaning was that they don't really work for all seasons. They work for all seasons if you live in Florida because winter there has hardly any snow, as do sandals. In Canada, winter can have 6 foot snow banks and massive blizzards, so all season tires are NOT all season tires. The previous comment was meant to be humorous. If you don't get it, I can't help you beyond this reply.

  • You've now been properly informed. :)

  • Yes, apologies, I misinterpreted what you were saying, I get it now, and yeah, you're right to an extent, but depending the quality, there are all season tires that work decent, except for those times when the streets are coated with ice. but yeah, sorry bout that, carry on ;)

  • wish i would have non that before I bought my studded snow tires, 400 bucks down the drain. the car is better in thsnow with all seasons idont even use them anymore

  • studded winter tires only work better on ice on regular snow they can actually reduce traction and they normally have to use a harder rubber or the tires will have less flutes also reducing traction

  • I Feel No Matter What Electronic Stuff You Have In A Car It's Basically Down To The Grip Of The Tires And The Skill Of The Driver That'll Keep You Safe... That And Don't Go Out When There's Even The Slightest Layer Of Ice On The Road!!! But That's My Opinion... Don't Knock Me For It... If You Agree Then You Agree... Don't Flame Against Me Because Of My Opinion... It's Just An Opinion...

  • @NorthwindKazeTora its a good opinion.

  • lol.. thanks for telling us what the tc and abs is.. but what i really wanna know is what the air bags do.

  • I think a light car and good brake/steering management is the key. A mk1 Panda 4x4 can beat a Rover in many places

  • It's illegal to drive on summer tires during the winter in Norway. So you need two sets of tires. But there is a good reason for it, cause the difference between winter and summer tires is huge!

Summer tires are just shit on snow and ice.

And BTW, i love driving during the winter. You can have so much fun, and you don't wear your tires out even when spinning and drifting around ^^

  • Hm. Easy. Buy a SAAB. Problem solved!

  • u dunce, he said all season tires, then he showed the picture. i would go with all 4 winter tires for winter then summer performance but when its not snowing here in toronto

  • Winter tires don't need to be studded to be called winter tires...

Studies have shown that studded winter tires aren't much better than studdless winter tires. Any winter tire will be 100000000 times better than the all-season shit that comes standard on 99% of new cars.

  • In finland you need studled tires.. here is ice, snow, asphalt, etc. ALL AT ONE.

  • I'm in Canada. I know what winter driving is all about.

I've used studded and studless winter tires and they work about the same on most winter conditions.

This video is from the US. Studded tires are not required.

  • but in Canada is not so much snow that Finland..

  • Comment removed

  • from alberta, studded tires are okay if you're like in alaska...but the weather changes a lot in alberta + in the east too...

studded tires are a waste ...they'll wear out too soon and you're bound to drive the day after when they clear the roads..

  • I'm in Saskatchewan and I agree about studs.

Winter tires (studless) are definitely a lot better than all seasons though. Even without snow, all-seasons lose a lot of grip below -10C.

  • I know, like in Finland. SNoW is so cool :]

  • Shooo i'd be nervous testiong out those with that car

  • Guy looks nervous.

  • this guys a joke

  • aww cmon maybe he has alike a sickness, like mild parkingsons... :( , i mean, maybe...

  • @thanhalicia All the guys here @Cars are none of them know anything... It's quite sad really...

  • The traction control on the Nissan is lousy. It apparently allows a LOT of wheelspin in the winter. Lexus had an ad years ago for the LS400 on an icy lake that shows virtually no wheelspin. Not all AWD, ABS, or traction control systems are equal, not matter WHAT your car salesman told you!

  • This is misleading information in terms of the tires and he obviously doesn't know what he's talking about. All-season tires suck when it's cold (7 degrees celsius or lower) as the all-season tires start to harden up. Braking and handling are reduced (think of your tires becoming like hockey pucks). Winter tires are superior in snow, ice, slush and cold bare pavement. You will stop sooner on winter tires than all-seasons. Regardless if you have FWD, RWD, 4WD, AWD, winter tires are required.

  • All season tires do fine in AWD vehicles. FWD vehicles do fine in all season tires as long as they are somewhat new. Winter tires in FWD and AWD are RECOMMENDED, not required. RWD on the other hand, it is required if you want to move anywhere.

I drove on European roads that are barely if not snow plowed at all. Currently living in Chicago with a FWD vehicle with almost bald all season tires. Not the safest idea, I don't recommend it, but if you have the experience you can control the vehicle.

  • @c0nv1ct1337 I drove my 350Z all winter on all season tires. It wasn't hard except the fact I had to drift EVERY turn.

  • lol i was going to say this but then i read your comment you beat me to it damn

  • Obviously winter tires are better than all-season tires; but all-season tires are an improvement in winter performance over summer tires.

  • Audi TT Quattro Coupe plus 4 Blizzaks equals winter fun-time driving.... Highly recommended....

    Worth the entry price.

  • Snow tires are 100% worth the price. Don't believe me, suit yourself. The only worry I have is people hitting me. Highly recommended. I learned my lesson the hard way.

  • Summer only tires. Perfect for summer, mediocre for fall, dangerous for winter. All season, Good for sumer, Good for fall, Ok for winter. Winter Only, Poor for summer, ok for fall, perfect for winter. Basically what it boils down for. I've driven all three year round. I know what I said. Summer tires costed me 1310.xx in damages to my car on a icy day. You'd be surprised how dangerous the wrong tire are in the mildest conditions. Summer tires and 1" snow= 4-8X stopping distance.

  • all season? all season tires are for little bit of snow condition and they dont perform good in snow of at least 3 inches or more like here in the northeast...i rather winter tires for winter and all season for summer

  • AGREED! My car came with summers and is rear wheel drive with about 400BHP so those are all a recipe for disaster. I went with Blizzak WS-60 winters on 2" smaller rims. 17" rather than the 19" to gain extra rubber to (believe it or not) bounce off curbs if the occasion happens to raise it's ugly head. I have used them now on ICE and SNOW and they are AMAZING! They hype is worth it IMO.

Great video guys! It really explains everything our newer cars come with.

  • I Love the Nissan Z!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I Would Rather Drive The Subaru Period.

Than Drive A REAR Wheel Drive Car With Near 300hp Under Ur Foot On Icey Roads!!!!!!

  • "all season" tires are useless in the snow

  • true, but in any case still better than summer ones....

  • @theOlie

its not the tyres, its the driver!

  • @theOlie not so bad really.

  • @theOlie ive gone the whole winter in vermont with bald summer tires, if youre a good driver you dont need to switch tires

  • @436030 part of being a good driver is being properly equipped to handle the conditions you're facing. Using all season tires in a canadian winter (and certain northern states) is irresponsable, and in certain provinces illegal. It doesn't matter how good a driver you are when you hit black ice on an off ramp, you need winter tires.

  • Not always correct to advise that ABS will allow steering under emergency ABS braking conditions.

  • I like the Z33 but there got to styling from VS on. But why don't they show about the drifting, cause im shore that theZ33 will win.

  • bbbbbbbbuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

  • I rather crash in the 350z then be caught driving that shitty subaru sti wagon LMAO

  • ...hahahaha that guy actually lights em up, sort of hahaha

  • all seasons???

you got to be kidding me...

  • whats wrong with all seasons, i live in canada snows like crazy here always cold and they do just fine lol alot harder on gas tho

  • i live in newfoundland canada, and winter tires is a must, if anything i got studs in mine....

but none the less its your choice until the government makes it mandatory....

  • i have all seasons because they were what were on the car my stepdads brother left sitting when he moved away so we took them cause we were running on belts its not my choice cause were low on money right now, thats the truth not an excuse

  • AWD STI FTW.

  • AWD Subaru in general FTW!!!

    I enjoy my WRX :)

  • Indeed, same here!

  • Thanks for the sound, a really good job

  • Hey - wasn't he the bad guy in the Protecting Your Car from Theft Video? Has he turned his life around?

  • Finally, we have sound! Good job guys :)

  • Excelente xD
