@Gladman hahaha animal flus come from domesticated farming animals. This is due to the larger population of animals in one location and that humans live and sleep near them.

Further more, many major plagues (and thus our immunities) throughout history came from humans living with their farm animals. That's why Europeans had such a strong resistance to viruses which could lay dormant in their systems but would wipe out entire populations of native people (who didn't farm animals in the same way).

@Khn90 that is brutal. someone who keeps these kinds of birds would never do that. wing feathers maybe clipped but never would someone break the wings. this bird is comfortable with the owner, its not stressed, it must have been raised from an owlet. i know, because i have kept a couple of raptors already. an eastern grass owl and a brahminy kite.

if raised right, they get used to the owners like this owl in here.

I have a little owl for about 4 months now. I got it when it was an owlet.

It is still pretty hard to let the bird get used to me. It seems to fear my hand but not my face. It seems to know that I can grab him with my hand.

Do you have any tips on getting the owl used to me. Or does it take a whole lot more time then like four months?

@nelis84 then you need to spend more time with it. maybe youre a little rough with your hands. try to be gentle, im guessing you got your owl a little older. one thing you have to understand is that owls are birds of prey, so they may get accustomed to people and maybe not. they cant act like dogs and try to please you, thats not in their nature. if you can get it to come when you call it, then thats good enough

@nelis84 With owls, unlike other birds of prey, you have to work with them every day, feeding them and being very gentle with them, so that they stay mentally as "children" it literally only takes a couple of days of not being totally up on feeding/caring and they'll grow up, and you can never really turn them back.
