  • Special Ed up in this!

  • i like controllers alot better than the mpc's

  • good!

  • Classic Break! Impeach the President by the Honey Drippers

  • So far, from what Iam seeing this mpd24 should work well with Reason's Kong drum designer.

@ thegoodfeller1992 - My understanding is that the MPD is a midi controller. The actual sample loaded into your Reasons rack.

  • but i can load sounds on that thing, right?

    like a sample?

  • The original is Special Ed? Really? wrong it's Ripple.

  • should i get a mpk25 or mpd24.. i jus wanna make beats and record them.. im a beginner so help me out

  • @561sage get the mpk25, trust me.

  • @Zkrudriverz thanks.. im gonna get it..

  • impeach the president break !!! yeahh

  • Is a MPD better than MPC

  • @DJPolitical

nope, but is cheaper and with good software works good too.

  • i well recognise that sample, good beat btw

  • anyone have any suggestions as to what i should get to start making beats as a beginner?

  • @rhythm013 I recommend fl studio

  • @rhythm013 DONT GET FL STUDIO!!!!! Go with reason or ableton. Or get the NI Maschine

  • Hpw did you take out the drums of the sample?

  • I like your style fam, check my vids fam, leave a comment and rate, let me know whats good!

    Holla

    CJ

  • that was sick dude, i got a mpd24 and fl studio just trying to learn how to use it now...

  • yo how do you get your faders to work?

  • Special Ed - I Got it made

  • sounds like some jurassic five jump off

  • I Guarantee He Did This With Ableton Live

  • it is entirely plausible he used traktor.

  • which software did you pair the akai with?

  • ill dell bro

  • Nice! Come to check my beatzz on the Akai Mpc

  • how u get samples on akai mpd 24?

  • u have to use a software ...i recomend fl studio....thers other likes reason or logic but get FL

  • nice work

  • i got it made by special ed

  • where do you get the sample beat from

  • the main sample is from Ripple - I Don't Know What It Is but It Sure Is Funky as what I can hear :)

  • Nice bro ! Drums sound like the ones Salaam Remi used on Nas's I can.

I made my first beat with an mpd and fl8 feel free to take a listen !!!

  • impeach the president break

  • nice :p

  • sounds like "i got it made" by special ed

  • yeahh men!

  • thats hot old school

  • that song was on mugen

  • hey, great post, this show's how many stages there are when it comes to writing beats, alot of people think it's just push a couple of buttons and loop it and you're done

    keep it up

  • yeah you do...

    it's just a midi controller.

I mean you can turn it on alone but if you want it to do anything you need a computer.

  • not true read your manual or look at the machine it all it has in and outs for MIDI cables which means you can send it to a midi sequencer or to anything with a direct midi syn up .... however if you want more of a stnad alone device get a KP3

  • fair enough.

  • Nooo.... U can use it for other midi stuff.

    damn...

  • Special ed - I got it made . Nice try man : )

  • Actually its: Ripple - I Don't Know What It Is, but It Sure Is Funky...Nice try man :)

  • I Dont Know what it is but it Shore is Funky by Ripple

  • nice beat dude, I have a question, im using battery 3 as a plug in on logic, with an mpd 24 how would i make my stuff like u did here, and put it all together in time...

  • Wow is that a D-Nice sample I hear in their wow great Sound.... that you are using.

  • great beat dude. where did you get your drum samples from? sounds fresh!

  • impeach the president " the honey drippers

  • according to you, ... which one should i take? AKAI MPD24 or AKAI MPD18?

    thx

  • 24 of course

  • I got MPC 500

I was thinking about getting this

butt i mean i dont know.

    whats the difference?

    can you let me know?

  • MPC is a stand alone unit, with the MPD you need a computer to run it through cause its just a controller, and you need a programme like fl studio or reason

  • @GlobeNinja you can use fl studio with this???!? how????

  • @GlobeNinja how do you use this on fl studio????

  • my cousin has one.

  • i want to use one those

  • i want one of these so bad, but theres only 1 in the whole country!!!!!!!

thats livin in New Zealand for ya...

  • how much does one of those cost?

  • About $200

  • thanx

  • you're sick! keepin it simple. the way samples should be used right here.

  • Anyone know how to cut the pads off so they don't overlap eachother?

    Know what I'm saying?

  • what software are you using?

  • do some practice to a metronome ur times a bit shakey

  • thats sounds alot like Special Ed " i got it made"

  • it is special ed "i got itmade", good call

  • and you bit the sample from Special ed's "i got it made" and threw impeach teh president drums over it? damn get ur diggin skills up, ur a hack

  • add a reverb to your sample so it dont sound so stuttery and amatuerish

  • i use korg kontrol 49, best of both worlds,

really love the samples you've used here eh, but i think when you were jamming you had arranged them better than you did for the final sound, thats just my opinion, not hating... just my interpretation i guess :p

  • u suck

  • nice beat...

yo i wanna make beats too..which MPD do you recommend?

  • wich padcontroller is best?

mpd 32, mpd 24, triggerfinger padkontrol?

    please help :/

  • mpd 32

  • thnx

  • i reccomend a MPD24. 32 is better, but not worth the extra cash

  • what program ru using?

  • The padKONTROL is bad ass. If you're looking to skip the keyboard for drum programming look into the padKONTROL. Can't go wrong.

  • muito ruim vc mlk

  • A MPC makes sound on its own, while a MPD only controls software which then makes sound.

  • thats the only difference?

  • Well think of the MPC as the complete studio and the MPD asthe knobs and pads of said studio. They're also somewhat different in layout, but it's still 16 pads and some knobs.

  • one more thing is as easy as an mpc cus they look pretty easy to use

  • yeah, its the same pads but there is no sounds in it

  • whats the difference between the mpd 24, the korg pad kontrol, and the mpc 1000?

  • mpd 24 and korg padkontrol are midi controlers with no sounds in them, you can only control softwares or other instruments with them, mpc 1000 is a complete autonom studio wich makes sounds and arangements on its own

  • *through floppy :D

  • nice impeach the president drum line

  • what is the difference between an mpd and an mpc?

  • to use a mpd you need a computer becouse mpc have memory, the mpd don't have!

So, you can use mpc in your street but for use the mpd with need a portable computer.

i think the mpc have more quality, but I am not sure

  • (...)you need a portable computer.

i think the mpc have more quality, but I am not sure

  • mpc is a type machine

    mpd is only a keyboard

  • in MPC, as word says, is Music Production Center, you can made music with just it, and as someone said it before, it has it own memory, you can add samples through discettes, i think. MPD is just MIDI controller, that means you need computer/laptop, and some kind of software to use it, or you can connect it with other synth/whatewer through MIDI. Sorry for kinda bad English,. Just ask if you need something:)

  • choppy... too choppy.

  • Ew. Dell. :P

  • I just got my Mpd 32 like last week>>Im selling it..

Holla at me any one who wants to by it..Im letting it go for just $200..You save $100..

    Jay Dinari

  • i got it made!

  • lol this from speical ed i got it made great beat

  • where you get hose tremendes samples of guitars?

  • The drum sounds are from "Impeach the President" which has been raped to death and the guitar stap comes from a funk track although he probably just sampled Special Ed's "I got it made".

  • you know your knowledge

  • dope

  • read tutorials.

    Thats a huge question.

  • google them.

    common sense.

  • Can i record in samples of a record like on an MPC?

  • This does not record samples.

This is a midi instrument, nothing more.

Does not record, alter, or handle any samples.

  • search google & youtube. It's 2008 man figure it out.

  • haha 2008 figure it out hahaha, bothers me to how people obviously have no clue.Whats a sample, whats midi? jeez man

  • when i press my mpd i get very soft sound i need to press way to hard

  • Full Level button

  • damnn, this is funky fresh way to sample ripple, man you perfected this beat nice job, i like this one more then the special ed beat, im getting a mpd 24 or a 32 very soon

  • fuckin fresh man

  • That's a mean open high-hat!

  • the name of the song the drums are taken from is "Impeach the President" by the Honeydrippers.

  • Thanks!

  • I got it made remix!

  • good job slicing the sample. i've always been a fan of that sample and drum loop and you meshed them well.

  • what software are u using with this?

  • think its reason.

  • that was pretty tight, 4/5 stars...if you want to hear MORE TIGHT SAMPLE BEATS, check my PROFILE!! you won't regret it

  • Equilbeats is better =]

  • How do you trigger sample (not drums) using your mpd??

  • the MPD is just a software controller (midi). you just set it to trigger drums the same way you'd trigger samples and vice versa.

  • that sounds like the beat from Nas - I can

  • how do you chop with the MPD? does it have its own application or can you use whatever DAW on your computer??

  • pretty coo son.....

  • The beat has good foundation. Some variety would spice it up.

  • you got it made son, good work!

  • yo brother... basically wat do i need to make a beat??

  • Yo. Can pads be transposed?

  • this is almost exactly what we use in aftermath records, we use an midi pad controller

  • on which cloud do you live brother?

  • 3rd

  • WHAT?

  • got one of those nice mpd 24s last night. will hook it up to cubase / halion tonight ... after all it's friday ;) thanks for posting, antill

  • pretty fuckin good dude.

I bought an MPD 24 but haven't been able to set it up... Do you plug it in to a turntable to sample? If so, is that through the midi cord?

  • hi,

the MPD is only a midi controller. You have to sample using a software (soundforge, fl, etc).Than you can control a tool within the music editing program to use the chopped samples. Like the FPC in FL studio. I hoep this helps.

The MPD doesn't have any memory, is not a sampling tool as the MPC it's only a midi controller.:)

  • this may sound like a stupid question, but fuck it, i have just this exact kit, and ableton live to go with it, and im a fucking amateur with production... while im still working with live at the moment, i am still curious as to how one can even associate sounds with the pads??? i just want some sound to occur. but i dont know where to start to allow the midi transformation to occur, if this doesnt make sense, than thats even better, cause im mad in the dark here.

    Thanks to who ever

  • Nigga,

    You pretty fresh.

  • love the chops, grimey (in a good way lol)

  • very fine chopped up special Ed i got it made

  • people watch it to the end and see the finished beat!

    its badass!

  • if you adjust the release on your sample it will sound way better just a suggestion

  • adjust your latency. it's way off.

  • I sold my MPC1000 for $499 on ebay you could have forked out a little more and gone for an MPC 1000. This MPD, I don't know I'm just not feeling it.

  • sounds like some premo shit...sick

  • not really

  • what have you stained necessarily round such to make then only the Akai MPD 24? let the me know steer me a message back thank you

  • I got it made

  • good shit...check out my beats man

  • I think you could give this beat some breath by adding a little bit reverb.

  • hahah this mpd is shit, u don't really nead it...its the same u can do on a normal midi controller like the m-audio keystation 49e

the funiest part is when u are recording that drums sound, pay over 100$ to record an 1 bar drum-line hahahaha

  • Impeach the president word.

    I can't wait to get the MPD24

  • this is my dream come true, en mpc is too expensive for me

  • on the mpc you can create like 2 bars and hit a button to make it auto loop while you add more sounds. can you do that with the mpd??

  • It depends on the software you use and how you setup the function keys on the MPD. A program like Logic Studio or Ableton Live works with "live" looping.

  • what is the difference between mpc and mpd?

  • mpd is just a midi controler you must connect to pc

  • Mpc(Midi Procusction Center): actually has the capability to load sounds and sequence them as a stand alone device or with a computer software)

MPD( Midi Production Device) needs to be conected to a computer that has a software for creating music.. it only uses midi. It can't make sounds or be used as a stand alone device at all..

  • variety of differences depending on the models of MPC/MPD, but essentially MPC is stand alone sampler and sequencer where as MPD is just a midi controller so it needs to interface into something with USB or midi out, but you don't necessarily need a computer with midi out you can connect it into to something like a keyboard or another device with midi in so long as you have a power adapter for it.
