As for your "unpopular bill" stuff: a huge percentage of Americans want affordable health care. That is not "hugely unpopular," that is "hugely popular," except of course by a misguided and vocal minority being led secretly by the wealthy powers-that-be. Roosevelt faced the same stupid reactions when he pushed Social Security, as did Lyndon Johnson when he pushed Medicare. Both programs have saved a lot of lives of Americans.

If you're talking about the recent march in DC, there were apparently about 70,000 people. It was nowhere near the turnout for the NASCAR rally the week before (100,000+) or the San Diego ComicCon in June (120,000), nor was it anything like the millions who came to DC in the 1920s in support of the Klan.

Remember, Arnold Schwarzeneggar was mooted as a Presidential candidate-- he was born in Austria (to a Nazi father, no less.) McCain (born in the Canal Zone) was not a "natural born citizen" by this misinterpretation of the law.
Obama was born in the US-- Hawaii was a state. His mother was a US citizen. Though his father was a Kenya/UK citizen legally, giving their son potential dual US/UK citizenship, this option was not picked up when he attained age, nullifying the UK citizenship.
